Dr. Sachi is a good doctor, but my experience with the front office was disappointing. While trying to schedule Botox treatment for facial pain, I had a rude interaction with a staff member and the call ended abruptly. When I asked if there was a manager I could speak with, I was told there wasn't one available and no one ever followed up with me. Later I received a message saying Botox appointments were being paused due to insurance reimbursement issues and my appointment was canceled. I understand that insurance logistics can be complicated, but I would have appreciated at least being offered the option to self-pay, especially since I know the office has offered Botox as a self-pay treatment before. I respect Dr. Sachi and the care provided, but I hope the communication and patient experience on the administrative side improves so other patients don't have a similar experience. read more

Dr Eli and Dr S I don't know how yo spell her name. The staff is great! They have a text portal which I didn't like at first but they respond quickly and you have what you need to reference back conversations about your insurance, appointments etc. They used digital machine to take the mold so you don't have the hard clay in your mouth at all like the old days. It's accurate and fast! Very impressed! Dr Eli also has experience with pain, headaches, migraines, neck pain. He talked with me about that which was really helpful and I'm going to get Botox for migraines with him soon. Was referred to this guy by a both civilian dentist and a dentist with the VA for severe TMJ and facial/head injuries from my past. I also see a neurologist. This guy told me to stop seeing my neurologist, and that HE wanted to take over treatment; without even knowing the severity of my TBI and brain trauma. He comes across as arrogant and spent most of his time telling me about his credentials. I have worked as a dental hygienist for twenty years so I am more than familiar with what to expect from a healthcare professional, and this is not it. Sachi Mehrotra must hate her job. The place is like a cash cow machine. This lady's "bedside manner" is terrible. I waited for 40 min for a five minute appt w her where she jammed a bunch of needles in without talking to me first. Then she walks out. The after effects were not good, more damage, some of which hasn't healed yet. It was like she was angry or something. This lady needs to at least settle in, take some deep breaths or something before going into see a pt and make sure you know the patients history and what you're doing, where the needles need to go if at all. I think this lady is in the wrong profession, she probably needs to work w computers not patients that have already suffered greatly. read more

1st visit- Was late to my first appointment by 15 minutes, I had to reschedule for another day. 2nd visit- "on time"went well and told me he will inject my face with botox for my next visit for my facial muscle spasms. 3rd visit- waited 45 minutes in patient exam room, he finally showed up, he did not have my botox and came up with a lie . Then had me get in X-ray of my face (in office ) Then I waited another 45 minutes until I left the room to find him and make another appointment for botox. 4th visit- waited 55 in patient exam room, never showed up so I told the receptionist he will no longer receive my business. If you have a choice for where you go you may want to try elsewhere. This was at his office in Try-city / Vista Ca. Appointment scheduling is horrible. big lack of communication, could never reach the office just call Service located elsewhere and times I called I had to leave a message and hope to hear back. I went in for Botox for my TMJ. It is life changing and I am very thankful for the work done by Dr. Sanchi. However I was charged $2k with insurance for one Botox session. I was told it would be covered fully by my insurance. My insurance told me I need to be in contact with the office but for 4 months I've been trying to reach the billing lady Angel. I've had no response from email or phone calls. Still trying to reach her so if someone from the office can let her know once again. I can't continue Botox if I'm going to have to pay this much for my TMJ :( especially when I have blue cross PPO which is one of the best insurances I've had from work. read more

Difficult place to rate. This medical practice has a number of doctors. Some provide good, professional care. The office staff is nice enough, but the problem is that there is one particular doctor who provides terrible care. Not uncommon for the doctor to run 60- 90+ minutes late, likes the art of the pushy mega-upsell, and he seems to think very highly of himself for some reason. It's not because he's good at delivering quality care. Ignoring patients with an appointment is not just rude but is a failure to provide care. Staff acknowledge he's an issue. If you have the need to see the doctors here, ask to be seen by a doctor who manages their time, and you might get a good one. If not, look to alternatives, as you will not likely receive professional treatment. I don't know what the heck is going on at this office. My dentist referred me here for TMJ pain. I talked with Dr. Sachi about the pain, received a shot and some exercises to do at home. I paid for a night owl sleep study app and equipment to see if I could get a device that would help my mild sleep apnea and my TMJ dysfunction. No follow up from this doctor. I called for a return visit. Paid for a scan of my teeth in order to make the sleep device. Never heard from them. I think that they billed my medicare for the visits, but didn't do a dang thing. Really awful follow up. I have a device I'm using from CVS and doing the exercises in the meantime and that has helped my TMJ, but now I've cracked a crown. Really, this office is just awful. I'm pretty ticked that my dentist referred me here. Something is really off about this place. Really bad at follow through. I had an appointment with Dr. Sachi and was told that she was on a vacation, but that I could see Dr. Eli, which was okay since I initially was supposed to see him, but never had. He came into the exam room with no mask - this was months ago and this place makes you wait outside and seemed very strict with patient protocols about covid. He told me that he gets tested twice a week and not to worry. At my next appointment, Dr. Sachi told me that she didn't go on vacation, she had covid! I recommend this office for patients seeing Dr. Sachi. She cares about her patients and not only treating the problem but preventing it as well. She listens and works quickly and efficiently. Extremely respectful of her patients time and I always trust I am I'm in good hands because she is always working with me to figure out what will make me the most comfortable. I was referred to Dr. Brad Eli by my dentist for my chronic TMJ discomfort. I was able to make an appointment over the phone, easily and continued to receive appointment reminders via phone calls & voicemails, text messages, and e-mails asking for my confirmation. I also received a call saying the doctor could not come in on my scheduled day and asking if I could reschedule. I accommodated them and then, again had to go through the process of confirming on all platforms. They also sent me a packet via mail to fill out to save time when I arrived. I showed up on my appointment day and was happy to get the perfect parking spot, right out front. I was welcomed kindly by Kay who took my photo, collected my pre-filled information, and took copies of my insurance and id card. I waited maybe 10 minutes before I was called in. At that point, I met Dawn who was lovely and took my stats and listened to the reasons that brought me there and my TMJ journey so far. She was kind enough to bring me water. I was told there was construction throughout the office but I didn't notice any. I waited in that office for nearly 45 minutes before the doctor came in. When the doctor came in and we discussed my issues. After a long conversation, we were able to pinpoint the daily activities and habits that were irritating my jaw. I told him I had a mouth piece I wore to bed to prevent teeth grinding but only for the top and was interested in getting a bottom one. He took my top one and adjusted it and had Dawn take impressions for my lower half. At this point it had been 2 hours and I had to let the doctor know I needed to leave. Dawn and Kay assured me they would call my insurance and crunch some numbers to let me know how much the bottom would be. An hour later, I received a call from Kay letting me know it would cost $1,300 for my bottom piece. Like a down payment for a car $1,300? I paid $250 (in payments) for my top one. I told them I couldn't afford that and they said Botox would also be an option. I responded by saying yes let's see how much that costs. I haven't heard back. I'm hoping I do because the TMJ is still and has been for a while an issue. read more

I am so pleased with the pain relief I've experienced since seeing Dr. Sachi Mehrotra. She is obviously a wonderful addition to the practice. I had no history of anxiety until a few months into the pandemic. It came on suddenly and I began having severe neck, face, and head spasms and pain. I have chronic lower back pain so was already taking (non-narcotic) meds as well as using yoga and meditation on a daily basis for pain control but nothing worked on the neck, face and head pain. Since I've seen Dr. Mehrotra my pain and spasms are very well controlled. She has always been available when I need an appointment. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A DOCTOR THAT I HAVE EVER HAD!!! The doctor was adjusting the $800 sleep appliance that they made me but accidentally got Maxicide, a POISONOUS disinfectant, on my retainer and then put it in my mouth WITHOUT RINSING IT! It tasted horrible and my mouth was wrecked like a chemical burn. When I asked what they put on my appliance, I was told "a disinfectant" but the doctor did not want to specify what exactly it was. I ended up at urgent care and insisted that they text me a photo of the disinfectant. Urgent care contacted poison control. It was a horrible and painful experience due to their negligence! Instead of making things right, Dr. Eli has offered me unlimited free visits, which cost me $25, in lieu of covering my medical expenses and missed days from work. He told me that my only other option would be to sue him which would "take three years to resolve." I have never felt more mistreated by a health practice! This was a complete disregard to my health and safety!!! read more

Dr. Eli has been a true lifesaver! Before finding Dr. Eli I had been to several dentists and Ear Nose and Throat specialist. Everything they had done up to that point had only made the pain worse. Dr. Eli has been treating me for a few months now and my pain has definitely gotten better under his care. I am still going to see him regularly and I am hopeful he can help. Everyone in the office is super nice. Dr. Eli spends as much time with each patient as they need which is great because sometimes I have a lot of questions and I never feel like I am being rushed. The only downside to this is that sometimes I have to wait a little longer than your appointment time to be seen. But I don't mind this at all. I understand that everyone needs to be heard. I am beyond thrilled with my treatment at this office. I felt very heard, and we are moving through the process until the pain subsides-- My pain is from a neck injury as well as TMJ and grinding. The mouthguard fits so much better than the one my dentist made - without feeling like I was going to choke to death in the process. With everything so mucked up with the pandemic, I am very pleased with the efficiency of their process for receiving relief. Also, my first dentist didn't even mention botox as an option, or trying a pain specialist-- I changed dentists and the second dentist was quick to give me some botox for my pain for $800 and let me know insurance would not cover. Guess what? Dental insurance did not cover, but medical insurance does! Also, with no other practices so a likelihood of the pain coming back. Props to Doctor Eli and his staff for the way they care for patients. With this covid scare they have taken excellent precautions . I had an appointment back in March. They called you in one by one you have to wait in your car until your appointment. You will get your temperature taken. I observed his staff and how they took percautions. While I think Dr Eli is amazing at what he knows best the business end is questionable. I had 2 visits where I paid a copay and at the same time it was being taken I was told my insurance was not requiring copayment. When I called to get the 2 copays refunded I had to make multiple calls and long story short I was told I had purchased items which I never purchased. The person whom handles this explained to me she was doing me a favor by refunding the the 2 copays! I never purchased anything. I was being treated for TMJ and chronic pain. I've been trying to get another appointment for several weeks with no response so apparently I'm being ignored by the office staff, at this point no matter how great Dr Eli is I'm not even comfortable to go back. Terrible. I am going to file a dental board complaint. I went to him for TMJ. I only went to him because he was the only dentist that would work with my medical insurance. My insurance negotiated payment before my treatment began. I went to my first appointment and was disappointed because I knew this wasn't good. Dr Eli was rude and uncaring. I didn't fell as though he ever really examined me. He ordered and I received a night guard. After my treatment Dr. Eli billed me an additional $1100. This was never discussed prior to the treatment. In reviewing what he agreed to charge the insurance company I discover he over-billed and the insurance company paid. I brought that to the attention of the office manager and she gave me $800 off. I am sure this is because they didn't want me to to the insurance company. After wearing it for 6 months I began to have constant ear pressure. By then my treatment with Dr. Eli was completed. After about a year I discontinued wearing the night guard. The ear pressure went away. I went to my regular dentist and he asked me why I wasn't wearing my night guard. I showed it to him. He was astounded. He couldn't believe that a TMJ doctor gave me such a bad product. The said there was no way to adjust the night guard Dr. Eli gave me because it was so poorly made. read more

We had an older lady with extreme jaw and neck pain from an auto accident ( her jaw was unstable and would come dislodged ) She was in so much pain and only Dr Eli's botox treatments and encouraging words could calm her down. He and his office staff were extremely kind and helpful to a very needy and hopeless older woman. Dr eli would take her phone calls at all times of the day and night. And they would fit her in when she needed it. Dr. Eli would sit and talk to her and try to calm her down if it wasn't time for more botox. I went to see dr Eli for pain in and around the left eye. The first appointment I got a nerve block to help the pain...it didn't help. Two weeks later I went in and the pain was really bad and I had been on an emotional roller coaster with everything going on in the world. I mentioned an incident regarding my property and the situation and why I was upset....he said to me that what I was saying was more Conservative than Liberal and I sounded just like trump! He shared some pro trump narratives. I ended the conversation but I was really upset...Because I was already emotional about other stuff he said "you're in a safe place" I said no, I'm not...he said you have to calm down your nervous system cuz I'm going to give you a shot in your face. I centered and calmed myself, I did not budge, wince, or say ouch for those three injections into the sensitive eye area around my eye. He said come back in two weeks, or a week if you need to , and to "stay positive" It was a horrible experience...my eye pain and the area around it have not felt better. I have been in excruciating pain since that shot that did absolutely no good at all. My insurance didn't pay for any of the injections. I paid approximately $1000 for two office visits and felt worse than when I went in. Sorry, I'm not going back to see Dr Eli...I don't need to be insulted and said that I sound just like trump. I am following up from my last review, today Friday July 17th, 2020...I have been in more excruciating pain since my last review....I have not had an episode like this anywhere near this bad. I wish I never got those Trigeminalnal neuralgia shots in my face to stop the pain from " traumatic neuralgia" that Dr Eli said was probably the cause of my left eye pain and the region around the eye... whatever those shots did was adding more trauma to my face....don't get shots in your face... read more

PLEASE READ: I was referred to Dr. Eli through my dentist for TMJ. I was seen and was immediately told I need a mouth guard that would cost $1,800. They then messed up the mouth guard having me come in 4 additional times because they were dealing with a new lab - Dr. Eli agreed to cover costs partially as I was extremely frustrated. I got a shot in my jaw and was then convinced I needed Botox that would help so much and confirmed with him it would go against my deductible - it did NOT (another $1,500). Then the woman at the front desk told me it was my fault because I shouldn't haven't listened to Dr. Eli because "he doesn't know what he's talking about". The Botox did absolutely nothing. After months of crying in his office and finding no relief I decided to stop the treatment. I was just seen by another specialist who told me I now need braces because my bite is so messed up (I did not have this problem before I started wearing the mouth piece Dr. Eli had made) - which Dr. Eli told me not to worry about and it will go back on it's own. I hope no one has to experience this extreme frustration and despair especially when they are in pain. Dr. Eli is pompous and his bedside manner is terrible. Avoid him at all costs. read more

I see Drs. Eli and Kim primarily for facial neuralgia. It is difficult to find care for this condition, especially with the current anxiety about opiates. Pain complaints tend to be seen as shopping for meds, regardless of the specifics. (For me, opiates are minimally helpful) I had hopes of being seen within my HMO, but the multiple steps, along with the wait times for an appointment at each step made it impossible. I finally gave up and was able to change to PPO. I called Dr. Eli and was seen within 2 weeks. (I had seen Dr. Eli many many years ago, which may have facilitated things.) So far, the care has been personalized and effective. My pain is improving and I felt secure enough to seek help with my sleep apnea as well, when I saw that C-Pap is not the only treatment. Hooray!
