I do not recommend Facecard based on my experience, particularly with how a complication from under-eye filler was handled.
I received hyaluronic acid (HA) filler on 04/04. Immediately during the first injection, the technician commented that I "must bruise easily" and that I was "veiny," suggesting I take arnica and that any bruising should resolve within a couple of days. This framing felt dismissive from the start, especially since I had received Restylane in the same area just one month prior with no bruising or swelling.
By the following Thursday (nearly a week later), I still had a visible bruised lump under my eye and reached out with photos. I was told this could take up to two weeks to resolve... something that had not been disclosed at the time of treatment. I accepted that explanation, although it didn't align with my prior experience.
When the issue persisted at the two-week mark (04/17), I followed up again. After difficulty reaching anyone, the original technician finally responded and extended the timeline again, this time saying it could take up to a month. At this point, I had already consulted both my esthetician and physician, who advised that this presentation was not typical and likely required dissolving rather than waiting.
Despite sending multiple photos clearly showing a persistent lump, I was repeatedly told I needed to come in for an in-person assessment before any action would be taken. I requested to see Dr. Reed, the owner.
About a week later, I was seen by Dr Reed, who agreed to dissolve the filler using hyaluronidase and stated she would personally manage the situation moving forward. I was told the issue should resolve within a few days and that I could follow up with her the following week.
On May 2nd, I returned for that follow-up appointment--still with a visible lump--only to find that Dr. Reed was not in the office. Instead, I was directed back to the same nurse who performed the initial injection. Given the circumstances, I declined and left. This was a complete waste of my time, especially after being explicitly told I would be seeing Dr. Reed.
I left a voicemail and did not receive a response. When I eventually spoke with Dr. Reed days later, she acknowledged she had been on vacation and "must have forgotten." Rather than offering a clear apology or resolution after I had spent nearly $7,000 on services, the conversation shifted to criticism of my tone with staff.
To be clear: my frustration stemmed from repeated delays, changing explanations, lack of transparency, and ultimately poor follow-through--not from a lack of patience. I gave this process several weeks, sought outside medical opinions, and made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve the issue through the practice.
The core issues here are:
* Improper filler placement resulting in a persistent under-eye lump
* Inconsistent and shifting guidance on healing timelines
* Resistance to appropriate corrective action (dissolving)
* Poor communication and follow-up
* Lack of accountability at the ownership level
At this price point, I expected a much higher level of clinical precision, communication, and professionalism.
I spent nearly $7,000 and experienced poor technique, inconsistent guidance, and a complete lack of follow-through when something went wrong.
If you're considering under-eye filler, go to an experienced physician. This experience did not reflect the level of care or accountability expected at this price point. read more
