Very unprofessional. Sarah canceled by text the day of appointment due to a medical emergency. Totally get that; things happen. She offers the next day, which won't work for my work schedule so I politely inquired about just getting my $40 deposit back. No response but after a few days I see a refund on my account for $35. No explanation for the missing $5. I send a text, respectfully, asking - no response. I'll let the texts speak for themselves. I think it's apparent this isn't about $5. It's poor business practice by someone who wants to treat me as the problem over their own poor communication skills. And seriously- $5 is kept every time you cancel on someone because of your computer system?? That's actually called stealing, BTW. read more

If you are looking for pretty lash lift and tint or some beautiful microbladed brows this is the place! My friend (she doesn't use yelp so I'm posting for her) had her lashes done about a week ago and during the process was poked in the eye with the application tool. The next day, she woke up with both eyes red and swollen. She went to the doctor and was diagnosed with pink eye. She needed two medications to clear it up. She has attempted to contact the business, however phone calls haven't been answered and an email has only been answered with an auto-generated return message which did not resolve her issue of course. The lashes and application was also quite expensive at $180, much more than I've seen at other salons. Not to mention the added cost of the doctor visit and medication. I think she deserves a refund, hopefully we can get in contact with the owner soon read more

I got a full set of lashes over a week ago. Booking the appointment was easy and painless using the online system. Sarah kept in contact with expectations for my first lash set, as well as a reminder email to confirm appointment. She provided directions to the studio, which was so easy to get to and just a hop off of I5, which was great since I was coming from Corvallis. The studio was clean and inviting, an in home location that welcomed visitors. Everything was ready to go when I got there, but there is a convenient waiting space had there been an appointment before mine. Since this was my first set, Sarah walked me through the process. It was comforting to hear her explain everything and how it works. She made sure everything was set and comfortable and off we went! The time flew as we chatted and she did her thing! Sarah was consistently checking in to make sure everything was golden and no pads had shifted. The end result? Sarah is really sweet, and I appreciate her commitment to reasonable pricing and vegan products. But the facial left my skin in terrible shape. When she told me we were finished, I looked in the mirror and gasped -- it looked like I was wearing a red mask! I have somewhat sensitive skin, as I noted on my intake forms (occasionally get a bit rashy from products, especially fragrances), but I've had a dozen or so facials over the years and nothing like this has ever happened. I asked what happened, what was going on, and she said that she thought I had a reaction to the mask she had used. I understand that people have reactions sometimes -- and I'm not sure if it was the products in the mask itself, or the things that she added to it (she mentioned tinkering with her own products, so perhaps the formulations are still a work in progress -- this stung/smelled significantly of apple cider vinegar). Sarah also said that she adds essential oils, but "nobody is allergic to essential oil." Whether it's the fault of the esthetician, the product, or a client's skin, if someone has a reaction, it should be something an esthetician notices, brings to the attention of the client, and tries to fix. When I asked, she brought a wet towel, so I could attempt to remove any lingering product, and cool off my skin (when I asked what else we could do, she mentioned maybe using toner, but then acknowledged it had some of the same ingredients as the mask). The irritation faded after a few hours, but it's the next day and my skin still looks blotchy and awful (in addition to having very noticeable blemishes around the sites of extractions). read more

I got eyelash extensions for the first time just for my wedding, and they look great! I got many complements on them at work, then at my rehearsal dinner and then at my wedding. I went for the hybrid lashes, which are more natural looking. Several people who complemented me on the lashes thought they were natural! Amazing! I loved seeing Sarah. I just started getting eyelash extensions in April 2016 and started in Portland, OR because I was nervous of seeing anyone in Salem. I saw two eyelash extension salons in Portland and another in Salem. It started becoming difficult to commute all the way to Portland so I wanted to find someone local. The extensions I received from the first Salem, OR location I went to looked great on the first few days, but after about 4-5 days, they quickly started to fall out. They also hurt because multiple extensions were glued to a single eyelash and several were crossed over and glued to multiple real eyelashes so I would have to carefully remove them myself due to the irritation they caused when growing out (like a pulling and digging sensation). I got my first eyelash extension fill from Sarah last week and love them! Sarah is super kind and very patient and informative. We started with a consultation and she showed me the different styles. I decided to go with the new flat lashes in a B curl. I would highly recommend going with the flat lashes. I had actually been looking for someone that offered flat extensions, but couldn't find anyone else in Portland or Salem. They look so beautiful and natural and are super soft and flexible. I hadn't noticed how crunchy and stiff my previous extensions were until I got the flat lashes and could compare. Sarah spent 2 hours with me carefully removing the bad extensions and then replacing with the new flat extensions in a B curl. When finished, I had a lush full set and they felt sooo good - so lightweight and really refreshing (if that doesn't sound weird!). It wasn't until getting these that I realized how heavy and plastic feeling the last extensions really were. I'm on day 5 right now and every day from 1-3 extensions have fallen off, but that is totally normal and actually much less than all the other places I have been. I made an appointment online got a confirmation email i was really looking forward to lash extensions. I entered the address into the gps on my phone drove over to Keizer Siri kept telling me "you have arrived" I kept looking around, no sign for Face Envy. I looked for the address, nope. I called not once but 4 times all i got was voicemail. I drove around the block 3 times looking for Face Envy. I got a call from sarah unfortunately i was calling her so her call went to voicemail asking if i was close. I immediately called back for a total of 6 times. I told her i couldn't find her business. It was at that point she told me it's inside Tan Republic. Not once did her email say that. Then she proceeded to tell me since i was late she was keeping my deposit. I tried to explain but she was having none of it. I tried to credit it toward my next appointment as i told her I really wanted extensions. She said she has a strict cancellation policy. I said I didn't cancel you said nothing about your business being inside another business. I told her she might have a strict policy but this is bad business. She still kept my deposit. read more
