I noticed that Rachel (the owner) really appreciates feedback (positive or negative) and seems to really care what you think as a customer. They recently moved to a new spot on 4th street which I think is WAY better than the old spot they had (which had crappy parking and was difficult to get to). They are hoping to open a spot in Aspen woods by my house, I really hope they do, that's the only drawback I have to it, I hate having to go downtown for the spray tan. It lasts at least 7-9 days on me and the colour is great. They could work on how they spray hands and feet but I figure these are pretty difficult areas to master. I highly recommend this place for your next airbrush tan!

My first impression of the salon is that it's fresh and clean. There are these pretty glass…read moredividers between the front of the salon where the manicure tables are and the back section where the spa pedicure chairs are. It's painted a light mossy green which is soothing. I really like the large chandelier in the front area and the funky chic silver filigree lights in the pedicure area. I had booked an appointment for noon and I had to wait about 15 minutes for my turn. They were really busy on Saturday. The pedicure was ok. Then it was time for my manicure. The guy in the shop did my manicure and did a terrible job of it. He was filing my nails wildly and I ended up fixing some nails that were not looking good. Then after he painted my nails, I looked closely at them and noticed he missed parts here and there and I saw fibers from the cotton balls mixed in the polish. What a mess. So he removed all the polish and started over. But he made a mess again. The one girl came over to finish my manicure and I was pleased with what she did. Overall it was pretty good and I'll most likely return as long as I don't have the guy do my mani pedi.

I guess by that rationale, my 100 other reviews must be bogus too!!! Wow. I feel that I have to defend my review and articulate it in a manner that will be clear that I am NOT out to ruin their business, only to state the facts of what happened to ME. I am very happy to hear that they are doing a better job at providing people with a better level of service than I received, but it does not change my opinion. Sorry. When I initially went in, Shenny quoted me a price and how many treatments I would require during our meet and greet. I was told I would be done my armpits in about 4 sessions and I would probably require another touch up in the interim. I was told to come in at 4-6 week intervals, which I did and that she would monitor my progress. I don't know how someone can monitor progress when they don't do all the treatments, on 2 of the 4 occasions, Nina did my treatments, again fairly quickly. Also, no test patch was ever done to determine the level of heat my skin can tolerate, these levels are known as Joules. I had mentioned my concern to Shenny about the fact that there was minimal hair reduction on my armpits even though she considered me to be an excellent candidate, fair skin with dark hair. After this exchange, was when she told me to start waxing (see my previous post) and that I will require an additional 3-4 sessions to complete the laser treatments which would have cost me, at that time another $300-400. She also suggested that I do a couple of sessions for my upper lip, since her prices were so "reasonable" I declined, somewhat offended as I am not man hairy, I felt it was not appropriate considering her new treatment strategy. Jenny D's filtered review is accurate, but perhaps she is a liar too?! I also was interrogated about other spa's I went to and how much I paid there. They pushed these "Matis" products on me which were insanely expensive but I refused. Also, if you are a visible minority, you don't get any special treatment, this is from my personal experience and in the few times I attended, I noticed she was extra sweet to her caucasian clientele. My friends, some of whom are Arab and East Indian also bailed on her for the same reasons. East Indians have a very tight nit community and what goes around comes around. Shenny and Nina are nice ladies, I agree! I question their ethics and knowledge of the laser industry. Laser hair removal certification is NOT REGULATED by the province of Alberta, in fact most aestheticians are NOT certified and still work in salons, spas and medi-clinics. Almost anyone can attend seminars and receive certificates as long as they pay! Just some food for thought next time you want to have laser hair removal. Many lower end/used/refurbished machines are available on-line and are often purchased or leased by under qualified technicians who want to make fast, easy money, they take a weekend course that teaches them the basics and they set up shop at a salon who will rent them space or perhaps in their basement. This is why you find so many groupon, dealfind, or teambuy coupons on line for these types of establishments! I hope this puts into perspective what I paid for and what I received. I believe that if these other posts are having good results, than great, carry on going there and tell the world, scream it out from the roof tops! But, there is a but, a BIG ONE...I find it hard to believe that the average customer knows for a fact that "Shenny and Neena always use the strongest disinfectant after each client, making sure that there are no transfer of germs or viruses through the use of equipment and supplies." I'm just saying, thats just something the average client doesn't know. Really, you only need one part bleach to 9 parts water to kill bacteria so I can't truthfully say I would know what the strongest disinfectant would do any differently? Perhaps if I was a nurse I would know this? Seriously.

When I first started going to Shenny's she was located in the NE in temple and now moved to her very comfortable home where it feels more like a spa then a tanning salon!.. Which makes me happy I have been plucked, waxed, threaded, and more importantly put my face in here hands.. she has taken the time to professionally treat me as a special goal to make me look my best for my age.. AND I DO.. I look 10-15 years younger then I Did when I first came to see her.!!!!! And that is not an exaggeration!!... I decided that for my most recent trim of the hair I would go back to Miracles. And they were exactly how I remembered them. The prices are a little high, but the quality is great. Every stylists at the salon looks very professional with up-to-date, modern, funky hair styles. It's always reassuring to have your hair cut by someone who has a nice 'do themselves. I find the atmosphere at Miracles to be quite relaxing. It looks extremely classy inside, yet doesn't portray a snooty, stuck-up vibe. I like that the sinks you have your hair washed in has a little pad for you to rest your neck on. It's a refreshing change from the usual ceramic or plastic grooves other places have. Not only is that nice, but the chairs you sit in extremely comfortable. My butt didn't even ache when I was finished with the trim. Returning to Miracles after a couple of years makes me wonder why I ever left. My stylist was super nice and she did a fantastic job on my hair!

There is lots of dark wood and warm earthy/orangy colored walls. It's really nicely done. I booked an hour massage with a Japanese lady named Mio. It wasn't more than a few minutes before Mio came out and she showed me to the back area where the massage rooms are. We passed the pedicure room which I'm thinking I will come back to check out. The room I had my massage was one of the larger rooms and was welcoming and I felt very comfortable. I recall a couple of candles were lit, too. Mio was very attentive and my massage was the right amount of pressure for my liking. There was music playing over the loudspeaker which was relaxing. Some places play music that gets on my nerves (rather defeats the purpose of the massage) but this was exactly what I liked. An hour goes by so fast when you're relaxed. I think Miracles is a hidden gem. The place is actually quite large. There's an entire hair salon on one side. The other side has the pedicure room, manicure stations, massage & esthetics rooms. The offer pretty much everything you would want in a salon and spa. I will for sure return to check out more.
