This review is for Kalani. I first met her at my friend's wedding since she was the makeup artist for the bride and bridesmaids. It wasn't an easy task because we were on a bit of a time crunch but somehow she was still able to get it done and all of the girls looked gorgeous. That's why when I found out that she does hair as well, I knew that I could trust her. I messaged her on Instagram and she responded immediately and set up a time. I hadn't dyed my hair in about half a year and so my roots were growing out and was becoming a bit on the copper/yellow side so I asked for caramel brown highlights just so that my hair color would look more consistent as parts of my hair was extremely dark while others were very bright. The price for balayage is fair at $175. Kalani's always been very cheerful and social and overall just great to be around. After my hair was done, I addressed my concern of my hair always becoming too light shortly after getting caramel brown highlights (it turns a yucky yellow blonde) and so she she said in about 8 weeks I could come in to get my hair toned or if there's ever any issues, to feel free to text her. She's big on following up and I believe she gets booked quickly which is why she's always trying to be a step ahead of her clients. The amount of professionalism she offers is incredible. I definitely see myself coming back again soon. I love how shiny and healthy my hair looks and can't stop flipping my hair back and forth like I'm in a Herbal Essences commercial! read more

a short hair lady came yelling through the back door saying this is a private parking so don't park here ever again. I was just dropping off my 2 kids at the art beat and honestly I didn't know it was private parking. I was only going to be in/out in leas than 45 second. screaming or raising your voice in front of kids is absolutely unacceptable. note to self never get your hair done at this place. Even if people make a mistake, please be kind and courteous . no need for yelling or being disrespectful in front of kids. read more

Any fans of Lorraine Massey's Curly Girl should check this out. I finally found someone who understands the concept of cutting curls. Mary cut my hair yesterday, DRY, exactly as I wished, curl by curl. She was specially trained for cutting curly hair in New York. She uses the DevaCurl products in the shop, and they're available for sale. I found her on the DevaConcepts.com website, there are only a handful of stylists in the bay area that have gone through the trouble of flying to New York and paying 400. to do this training, so she cares about curly hair. She is a very down to earth and easy going lady, and it's a comfortable salon. I'll be going back. read more

Mary cuts my curly hair and does a great job! She does the cut when my hair is dry so that she can assess how each curl lays and how it all looks shaped; genius, right? (No more pieces that are longer than the rest because the stylist cut everything straight across the bottom!) Mary listens to what I say and will adjust my cut accordingly. She gives great styling tips... and always has fun stories to top it all off. Mary has been cutting my hair for many years. We have gone from the perm look of the 80's to my wonderful short cut that I wear now. She always takes the time to listen to what I want to do. I have been getting my hair done by Mary for the last ten years and I haven't let anyone else touch it since then. She is fabulous with color and I never walk away disappointed with my hair cut. She understands my needs and executes to my wishes every time! The salon itself is absolutely adorable and in a great location. She has so many fun items around the shop for sale it is hard for me not to spend additional money on last minutes gifts or a cute bracelet or earrings I think I need! Candace and Vanessa also do a fantastic job. Even though they don't do my hair, I see the final results of their clients and they too walk away with a smile time and time again!
