Jolene is the best! She has been doing my hair for over 25 years and always hits the nail on the head. I'm the first person she's done 'unicorn' hair on and she absolutely RULES at it. When we did it initially back in October, I had been dying my hair various shades of red since high school. So she had to strip all of that out first and THAT was a job in and of itself. But by the end of the day, it came out awesome! When we re-did it this time, it took about half the time (without all the steps to get the red out) and we took a more minimal approach, using only 5 colors instead of the 10 she used the first time, and it looks, if possible, EVEN MORE AWESOME. I get complimented on my hair everywhere I go, and I always have with Jolene at the helm. Long, short, red or unicorn, she knows what she's doing. read more

Jollene is amazing! She is the best hair stylist I have ever had!! Hands down I have never experienced the service I have with her. I came into the salon from Placerville with bright red hair and she worked her magic and transformed it into a beautiful blonde! She takes her time with you and listens to your ever need and you walk away feeling amazing! I will never go into anyone else, Jollene is by far the best stylist I ever met! read more

I had an amazing experience here with Jamie! After a horrible experience with another stylist who completely butchered my hair, I came to Jamie to see if there was anything she could do. I was afraid she may need to cut it short since so much was taken off the front by the previous person. She actually blended the front perfectly without having to take too much off the length and really took her time! My hair is also so smooth and shiny! I plan on booking highlights with her soon. I am so happy I found her and finally have someone I can go to consistently. She's also very sweet and booking the appointment was easy. I'll be posting pictures soon. read more

I went here after reading all the 5 star reviews. I got a cut and highlights from Jamie. The color turned out well, not as blonde as I usually go but that's because I had lowlights put in with my normal highlights. However, I had to go back two days later to have her fix it because there was a strange, orange semicircle at the crown of my head where the foils had slipped. The color was not blonde, and it was very noticeable. I realize everyone makes mistakes and these things happen, and Jamie very nicely let me come back in 2 days later to fix it. The reason for 3 stars is that the price is very high compared to what I'm used to paying in San Diego. I walked out of there paying $300....for a clarifying thing she did prior to the highlights (that I naively didn't think to ask what the cost was and she didn't tell me until it was time to pay, it was $60), a $75 haircut, $130 highlights and a shampoo and conditioner that was promised to be amazing. While Jamie was very nice and fun to talk to, my cut and color didn't look much different from the other salons I've been to in San Diego and paid between $130 -$150 for the same services. If her prices were lower I would give her 4 or 5 stars, but unfortunately I can't afford to go back with such high prices :( read more

I've been getting my hair cut by Jolene for years. This place has progressed into a groovy little hair place in a few years. Since she bought out the place next to her and expanded the size and had the place remodeled, it's quite cool! Jolene is excellent with hair coloring and cutting. I highly recommend her and Fringe. read more

This review is for Jamie. It is so hard to find someone who cuts your hair the way you want it. I just got my hair cut yesterday, and cannot believe how good it looks. Jamie has been cutting my hair for years, and I couldn't be happier. She is always up on the new trends, and I cannot even explain how good my hair looks when I walk out the door. And it keeps looking good! Jamie is so sweet, kind, and warm. She makes you feel comfortable and beautiful -- what more could you want? Rates are reasonable, salon is clean and fun. I will be going back for years to come. read more

Had to find a new hair stylist because mine quit and sells houses now (whatever!) so I found Fringe Hair Studio on Yelp and thought I've give them a try... Yvette was able to fit me in right away and this morning I got the best cut I've had in YEARS!!! I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she absolutely nailed it! Thanks Yvette!!! read more

I have moved to Oregon but whenever I am in the bay area, I always go see Jamie. Why? Because she is well skilled at her artistry. Why? Because she stays up to date with new products, styles and techniques. Why? Because she ensures that her talent isn't stagnant by traveling internationally to learn from and become a master. Oh and I've been a client forever. Celebrating over 30 years of hairstyles with this upbeat, beautiful lady that I am proud to call my friend. read more

After a few botched visits with other stylists (who shall remain nameless). I am super particular about my hair and who cuts it. I found Jamie on yelp after several weeks of looking. Called for an appointment and got in within the week! She spent a lot of time with me letting me explain what I was looking for. I showed her pictures etc. and she understood my nervousness. She did a fantastic job on the cut and she now has a client that will follow her anywhere! With such short notice on the appointment she didn't have time to do color so I came back the next day. I went dark (level 4, I don't think I've ever done a level 4) with deep red in it. It looks dark when I'm inside and then when I go out doors depending on how the light hits it either really red or an almost blackberry color! All in all I am happy with the color. I would give Jamie 10 stars if I could. She's a sweetheart and has been in the biz for a long time. She's a true stylist! Thank you Jamie, see you soon! read more

Fringe Hair Studio - Hair Salons Near Me - San Jose, California

Fringe is a clean, quaint hair studio located in the heart of lovely downtown Campbell, and very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Their biggest asset is my stylist Joanna Pollard! She really takes her time in giving you the "perfect" haircut for your type of hair and shape of face (no matter how difficult your hair type is! She wants you to be 110% happy, before you leave! You tell her what you want, she gives her professional opinion (again baed on YOU) and then you work together! So glad I found her, she's a true blessing, read more

Joanna has been cutting my hair for 18 years, and I've never had a cut I didn't LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! She is a whiz with the razor, listens carefully to my requests, and somehow manages to give me a cut/look I love, despite my confusing input. Her cuts also grow out beautifully. I sometimes joke that I get two haircuts for the price of one, since as my hair grows it continues to look great, in new ways. (Yes, I should get in to the salon more often!) Besides that, Joanna is fun to chat with, and a kind, empathetic listener. read more

Having just got my hair cut from a different salon the prior week I went into Fringe as a first timer. Not only was the salon cute and very personable but everyone who was working was very warm and inviting. I went in convinced that there wasn't much that could be done to fix my butchered hair but I couldn't have been more wrong. Jamie did more then an outstanding job, not only was she able to fix my hair she had me leave loving it. Words can not describe how much more confident I am with how my hair looks now in comparison to before. Jamie I can't thank you enough, you're a miracle worker! read more

I love this salon! Jamie is awesome!! I don't let anyone touch my hair but her :)

Jamie is the best!!!!! I have been going to her for years. I would not trust anyone else to do my hair. Her coloring is wonderful. She keeps herself updated on the latest and best colors for hair. I can't believe someone would give her a bad review. If you want the best cut and or color, you need to go to Jamie! read more

Jamie is so great!! She always listened to customers' opinion and made the result exactly what I wanted. Recommend Asian friends here.

Jaimie is well versed in her craft keeping up with the latest hairstyles, products and the wellness of your hair. Such as an artist she takes no shortcuts and gives you honest evaluation of what styles will work and which dont. Hair is the first thing people look at , and Jaimie is the first person you should see. read more

I needed a local stylist since my last is located in Palo Alto and logistics became difficult. I picked Fringe from Yelp reviews and have been happily rewarded. Joanna has both cut and colored my hair at this point and she does and outstanding job!!!! She is most importantly a highly experienced professional but also gives some great bonuses. She is super attentive to client consultation and input and overall just a very kind, understanding and flexible person. She doesn't finish a cut until you are perfectly happy with the look, even if it means tweaks here and there. She also highly improved the quality of my hair coloring to cover gray but blend it super naturally and probably to a prettier color than my real one. Thanks so much Joanna! read more

Before I had to move away from California, Jamie was my stylist for over 20 years. She is constantly learning new techniques and is a master colorist. I always walked out of her salon happy and looking amazing! She will never be equaled! read more

I have been going to Jolene at Fringe before it was Fringe...and even longer. Jolene has done a great job evolving this salon and the location is perfect. I don't trust anyone else to do my cut and color. Fringe is a cute little salon in downtown Campbell. It's a great location - you can get your hair done and then head to one of the great restaurants in Campbell to show off your new do! read more

Jamie is a great stylist. She puts you at ease and makes your hair look fabulous! I've been going to Jamie for a few years now and I am very satisfied. I even send my husband to see her, and she can make him look ten years younger! You can tell she loves what she does and is always learning new styles and techniques. She is at the cutting edge of her profession. Thanks Jamie! read more

Jamie has been cutting my hair for years and she is fantastic! She is constantly going to industry shows to make sure she is up on the latest techniques and styles. I have seen her correct color on women's hair along with cutting curly hair. When she originally cut my hair, I didn't know how to style wavy hair. She showed me how to do it by cutting my hair correctly so I could do it in a couple of minutes. If your hairstylist doesn't know about the latest products or trending styles, you should probably go see Jamie. read more

Fringe salon is both unique in style and in the peronalities! Always professional and "cutting edge", Jolene and her crew offer more than an average trip to your stylist. The environment/ decor are JoJo "hip" and the vibe superb!! You'll leave both loving your hair and the girls! I highly recommend Fringe hair salon!! read more

Anyone who has ever tried blonde highlights knows just how easy it is to get the WRONG color. Well, I'm writing this review to give major props and kudos to Jamie as she is a phenomenal colorist. Not only does Jamie stay up on her "hair education", but she is like watching a mad scientist at work to ensure she gets just the right coloring for me. More importantly, Jamie is always very careful to ensure my hair is in the best condition possible and always uses product that leaves my hair feeling better after coloring than it was when I walked in for my appointment. My entire family now goes to Jamie - including my 16-year old Daughter (that in itself should tell you how good she is :-). Thank you, Jamie, for always doing a fantastic job! read more

This place was amazing! I walked in here out of the blue since I was in the area and in need of a haircut and they gave me a great cut! Everyone who works there is friendly, especially the one who cut my hair, Jamie. Right when I sat down, we made small talk and I found out that she learned to cut hair at a prestigious school in London! After I heard that, I knew that she was going to give me a top notch haircut. Being Asian, I know that we generally grow out hair different from most other races so I was a little worried as to how she was going to cut it but rest assured, she told me that she specialized in giving Asian people haircuts. As repetitive as this may sound, she's EXTREMELY friendly and great at keeping a conversation going so you're not just sitting there waiting for your haircut to finish. She gives great life advice so you're basically getting a haircut and a few minutes of therapy along with it. This place is definitely something else and I'd recommend everyone who needs a haircut to get one here. The shop is also very decorative and gives a great atmosphere, too. They have a little dog walking around and everyone who works there seems to love their customers and their jobs. This place is great and Jamie is even greater. Anyone who cares even a bit about how their hair looks should get a haircut here. Oh I almost forgot, she gives great advice for places to eat! She's basically a personal yelp so be sure to ask her for amazing places to eat while you're there. read more

I have gotten my haircut there for a long while now and I have to say I am very impressed. Jamie is very personal and takes the time to understand exactly what you want and expect out of your appointment. Her knowledge and personality is unlike anyone I have ever met. She genuinely cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. I can tell it's not really work for her it's more like she's creating art. I have been going to her for over a year now and she never stops learning different techniques to keep up with what is the new in styles. No matter how long it may take she works her butt off to make sure it is perfect and you love the end result. I have yet to be disappointed. People may think she's a little pricey. But you honestly get way more than what you pay for. I am a very picky person when it comes to someone cutting my hair. I want someone who I can trust to do a great job every single time. I want someone to be honest with me about what they think will look the best and someone who loves what they do. That person is Jamie. There is no one I would trust more than her to cut my hair. Thank you Jamie for all you do and your hard work. read more

Jamie is not cheap but she's worth every penny. She is a great stylist, especially for curly hair, and a wonderful colorist as well!

Jamie is the best hair stylist out there! I totally trust her, great personality, run, don't walk to see her! My entire family loves her!

I have been going to Jamie at Fringe for over 3 years now. She is the most amazing stylist I have ever been too (and I have had many). She knows what I to do with my hair even when I don't. Cut, color, she does it all! She is just spectacular. i haven't had any cuts or color with the other girls, but they are all very nice and their work looks good. read more

Margurite Nelson has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 15 years. There are many reasons why I have been using her for so long. I find myself completely at ease sitting in her chair every four weeks. She is a friendly and compassionate companion for my frequent visits. She is 100% reliable and always on time. Her prices are reasonably and I believe to be competitive in her industry. Fringe Hair Studio is a comfortable and relaxing place to visit. I highly recommend Margurite for all of your hair needs. And last but not least....her "up-do's" are amazing too!!! read more

Jamie is amazing! I'm super picky about my hair and how it's gets done. But after the first time I went to Jamie, I had no complaints about the color or cut. She listens to me every time, makes suggestions, and does a wonderful job every time. I have gotten the detox treatment, smoothing treatment, conditioning treatment, hair cuts, and colors, all at different times. Each time I have left very happy. She wants to make sure your hair is taken care of, even when you're not in your chair. Jamie has tried all the fads and everything in between, so if you want to know ask and she'll give you her honest opinion about things and how it might work for you. Not only is Jamie great at her job but she is an axing person too and I have a great time every time I see her! Thanks Jamie! read more

Jamie is great! She listens to her clients. She never fails to make my hair, especially the color, look fantastic. Although we no longer live in the San Jose area I still make the 4 hour trip to have her color and cut my hair.
