I am usually unimpressed with haircuts I get, but this place just 'got me' and listened to exactly what I asked! It was also fun trying to avoid the scary parts of a horror movie that was on while I was trying to keep my head straight. It led to a great chat about recent films and some of the story of our lives. If you want a friendly, clean and laid back vibe, this place is great. I've been going to The Craft for 2 years now and before then, it was a tedious trial and error…read moreprocess to find a good barber shop. The Craft offers a welcoming atmosphere that is friendly, respectful, chill, and most importantly, professional. Any barber who works here will provide you with a quality cut, friendly conversation, and make sure you are feeling and looking good before you leave. Their prices may be above average compared to your local franchise like Supercuts, but I guarantee that this family-run barber shop makes up for the extra cost from the work they put in and this is truly what sets them apart. The Craft is about providing a family friendly experience to customers where they can relax, forget about their stress, and enjoy a quality cut. There is no better employee that embodies this more than Art. I've chosen Art to be my barber for over a year now because of his focus, calming nature, and patient approach to cutting hair. Each time I'm in his chair, I feel like I'm getting the most important cut of my life. He takes his time making sure that everything is cut perfectly and will line you up with style as he makes you feel like a million bucks. I've never met another barber who consistently pays such close attention to detail with every cut. It's refreshing to see how passionate and serious Art takes his work considering how goofy the friendly banter can get in a men's barber shop. I would not have written this review 2 years ago as The Craft back then had a very different team dynamic and vibe. Now, I can confidently recommend The Craft as the best Men's barber shop in Camarillo. Their team is solid, communication is prompt, and customer satisfaction guaranteed. Guillermo's management and leadership has crafted a team of respectful young men who provide quality service and respect to their community and it has truly shown. If you're looking for a new barber shop, check out The Craft in Camarillo. You will not be disappointed. I booked an appointment with Enrique through booksy…read more Not only did I Bring in a reference photo but, I also clearly explained what I wanted. I specifically asked for a scissor cut + mid taper and wanted to preserve my curls because I had recently gotten a perm. Unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like the reference photo or anything I expected. My hair was getting a little over grown and i just wanted to shape it up, clean it a little, and add a taper to the sides. What frustrated me the most was no communication regarding length. Not once did he explain how much hair would be cut off or confirm the amount he planned to cut before he began. He ended up cutting off so much length that my entire perm (WHICH I JUST PAID FOR) is completely gone. I expected basic instructions to be followed but I this barber was not the one for the job. A mid taper is not a low taper, and preserving curls is impossible when the length needed for those curls is completely removed. I left feeling like really bummed out as I had a very special occasion just arouud the corner and had my hair completely removed. Months of hair growth and the money spent on a recent perm were gone in a single appointment. So disappointed, you had so much hair to work with, and you completely fumbled.
