We called ahead for a group of 8 and asked for a reservation in which they responded with we don't take reservations and that the wait should be under 20 minutes if we arrive soon. We arrived at 6:00 and weren't seated until 7:00 pm, while other groups with reservations got seated.... By the time we ordered it was close to 7:30 and our food didn't arrive until after 8pm. So the service wasn't particularly good, but the food was decent.

Parking: This restaurant has 6 reserved spots, but they were all taken, so I had to street park across the road in the neighborhood nearby. 1.5 star. Staff: I asked guy at front desk if I could sit and eat, he said "sure if you can find a seat", the walked away... Very busy, but I found an empty table. They do have chairs in the back for people to sit and wait for a table to open up. My waiter was okay, but the host stand was lacking.. 2 star Food: While looking thru the menu, they brought out garlic bread, it was very good. And brought me my drink. I had to wait another 10 minutes before the waiter took my order. My entree was Fusilli noodles with meat balls in Marinara sauce. My entree was okay, not that good to me. Pizza was real good 4. Bread sticks were real good 4. Entree was mid 2.5. 3.5 stars Ambience: Not too loud, conversation is easy. Very crowded and the noise is just from neighbor tables having conversations. This is a good location for dates, meal with friends or family. I wouldn't suggest bringing groups larger than 4 people. 3 stars. Overall: The main entree was not my favorite, but the pizza was good. I would consider ordering takeout pizza next time, but nothing else. My friends are hopefully planning to come visit soon, so I'm trying to find new places to take them, but I'll scratch this one off my list. (1.5+2+3.5+3)/4 = 2.5 stars.

Amazing focaccia bread

Just the type of neighborhood Italian restaurant you hope to find when you're visiting a new town. (My brother knew about this gem.) We came to enjoy a late lunch one day. I was thrilled to see a big basket of complimentary focaccia come out first - always a great sign. I spoiled my appetite by eating too much of it! My brother split a salad with his daughter, and it looked very fresh and tasty. Then all four of us shared a combo pizza - they were very generous with the toppings. Our server was friendly and sweet and we were all happy to end our day out at this terrific spot.

Grilled chicken with Gorgonzola sauce and arugula and pasta ... delicious!!!

I've been coming to Fabrocini's in Tarzana for years, and every visit reminds me why it's such a gem. Order the waiters recommendation of an off-menu item--grilled chicken with Gorgonzola sauce--that was absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked chicken paired with that rich, tangy sauce... I still think about it. My son is picky when it comes to chicken Parmesan and he loved it here . The service has always been top-notch. The staff truly makes you feel like family--friendly, attentive, and always on point. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, you can expect warm hospitality and consistently great food. This place holds a lot of good memories, and I'll keep coming back as long as they're here. Highly recommend!

Upon deciding where to have dinner this evening, I remember passing this restaurant for the last several years on Ventura Boulevard. I mentioned to my husband let's go try them out and are we ever glad that we did! Ian greeted us very warmly and we mentioned it was our first time there. My husband decided to get the chicken piccata. I had the chicken marsala, but I kept picking at his chicken piccata. I would definitely get that next time with the asparagus and broccoli. The chicken marsala was good, but I have to say my husband's dish was very tasty. There was a good amount of people there and it looked like these folks have been going there for years. We also noticed they were doing a lot of takeouts. We will most definitely will be back! Thank you, Ian for making it a lovely first time experience for my husband and myself. Carla & David

We decided to come back with friends but on a Wednesday night at 6:30 instead. Sat at a table in the area where the music was but it was very loud and tightly packed with tables and guests. I could barely hear my friends due to the loud conversations, loud laughter, and just the acoustic affects in the restaurant were bad from that. We ordered steak, sides, and thought baked potatoes but got mashed instead. After we ate dinner we asked the manager if we could seat outside for dessert instead due to the loud noises around us. He brought us there but we had to wait at the bar outside till we were seated took an additional 15-20 minutes. After seated it was better than inside with a nice decor too instead. Dessert was ok service good. For such a high-ended restaurant and pricy food it's only avarage, inside decor pretty but very and tightly packed with guests and loud especially for a week day night kind of unusual, I was disappointed think it's a bit overrated sorry to say. I think Flemings, Ruth Chris, or Morton's are better food wise for the same price and dining experience and not as loud too. Think what could make it better is to thin out the crowded packed affect in the main inside dining area would help a lot too, or, if we ever go back sit outside instead I recommend. The service and staff there were very nice, friendly, and attentive and worked hard during service though. So overall raiting is a 3. Tuesday music night inside was good though think because the band is set up where tables of guests would be so less talking and guests listening to the music instead. Hope they make some changes to there inside seating there for improvements will and could help overall.

PARKING valet is available, but we found street parking on ventura blvd. FOOD 01. squash blossoms ($21 for 5 pc): 8.3/10 these were crispy and light, delightful to eat on their own without the tomato marinara sauce served on the side. casalena's squash blossoms had a strong, lovely hint of lemon that wasn't present in mother wolf's rendition. 02. chicken piccata ($29): 7.5/10 this main was served with a generous helping of potatoes mashed into a delicious velvet. 03. vodka lumaconi ($25): 9/10 this dish was the standout of the evening! the pasta shells were cooked al dente and coated in a slightly spicy, perfectly savory vodka sauce! casalena does not skimp on the sauce in any of their dishes! 04. tagliatelle ($29): 7/10 this pasta dish was not nearly as impressive. 05. tiramisu ($15): 7/10 since we mentioned the dinner was for a special occasion in our reservation, this dessert was served with a candle. while its presentation was lovely, its taste was underwhelming. the espresso was extremely subtle, and there was more madeline than mascarpone/cream. overall, our party of 4 was fully satiated after splitting 1 appetizer, 3 mains, and 1 dessert. service was lovely throughout! and as another yelpie mentioned in their review, their matchbook is very nice.

We recently celebrated a friend's birthday at Adagio in Woodland Hills and unfortunately left with…read morevery mixed feelings. To start with the positives -- the atmosphere is pleasant overall. It's a smaller restaurant with tightly spaced tables and an older crowd, but the interior is nice enough, even if not particularly memorable. We were seated promptly as our group arrived, which we appreciated. The appetizers were actually very good: the mushroom crostini and the Italian potato balls in arrabbiata sauce (not sure of the exact name) were flavorful and a great start. Later, the Caesar salad was also quite good, slightly tangy but enjoyable. Of the entrees, the Chicken Adagio stood out as the best dish -- well cooked with a nice lemon flavor. Dessert ended on a high note too: both the tiramisu and mocha cake were delicious. Unfortunately, the service experience overshadowed the food. Early in the meal, one adult in our party accidentally spilled a glass of wine that soaked the table. The owner/manager immediately reacted loudly with profanity ("F**k, just what I needed"), and instead of helping, walked around the table repeatedly complaining. No staff member offered napkins, assistance, or even basic concern -- despite one guest having wine spilled on them. After several minutes, we had to ask for a new tablecloth ourselves and even began clearing the table to help. The owner made additional rude comments about not being able to drink without spilling. When the busboy finally came, he replaced the tablecloth but did so angrily and literally tossed new plates onto the table. There was still no offer to replace the spilled wine, no replacement drinks, and no effort to make the situation right. It was extremely uncomfortable, especially since we were trying not to escalate things during a birthday celebration. For the remainder of the evening, the owner sat behind the bar staring over at the table, which made things even more awkward. At the very end of the meal he briefly apologized, but it felt half-hearted and far too late after the earlier behavior. The rest of the food was decent but inconsistent -- the penne arrabbiata was tasty though the pasta was overcooked, the chicken dish with it was also slightly overdone, and the bolognese was okay but not memorable. Overall, while some of the food was enjoyable, the hostile and unprofessional response to a simple accident made this an experience none of us want to repeat. Dining at a nicer restaurant should feel welcoming and relaxed, not uncomfortable or adversarial. Sadly, all seven of us agreed we wouldn't return.
