Great Coaches, very supportive Staff overall. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Very clean gym &…read moreequipment. I honestly hate working out, and I've tried so many gyms, but I've been able to stick with this one because of the encouraging, boutique atmosphere. I love having the BeatBurn monitor to track my heart rate & workout progress. I also love being able to use my membership anywhere in the world when I'm travelling. Highly recommend if you're trying to get in shape, or are already fit and love a challenge. Bonus: Validated (free!) parking at the Parklawn location (and other locations I've been to in Montreal & London). All body types and (adult) age ranges are welcomed.

In the beginning, they would tell you that you can cancel your class anytime. If you do get ready to pay 16$ for it, even after paying 200+ for membership. It is scary to give them your card details. The classes are so congested, no space to work out. Even during COVID-19 they are crowded. Tom, the manager of studio never would reply to your emails. They are just finding different ways to earn money. Also, no human values, if you forget your water bottle by any chance. You can faint but they won't give you a water bottle they have. They don't even have a disposal glass to drink water. Just think once before joining OTF park lawn.

It wasn't my first Nia class…read more In fact, I'd done a lot of Nia with great teachers, and even took my white belt training (which at the time, was the teacher training) for Nia. Nia is amazing, and each teacher brings their own energy to the practice. In fact, if you have tried Nia and didn't love it, I recommend trying another teacher or more. It's more about the right fit for you than it is about "good" and "bad" teachers. So, Jenn Hicks. She's amazing. She's not shy about sharing her personal story online and the struggles that lead her to Nia. She has a passion for mental health and celebrating the bodies we have. Jenn understands and loves it when you take care of yourself, so there is no pressure to keep up or do anything that doesn't feel right. If I need to slow a move down, or take a break, I know that Jenn respects and encourages that. I feel like she creates a safe place where I can show up, as I am, and dance from there. All of me is welcome here. You can be gentle. That said, if I wanted to pump things up and really work it, there is no one better than Jenn Hicks. That girl has more energy than anyone I know. She has a blast while she teaches and her enthusiasm is contagious. If you want a great workout that rocks your cardio while being kind to your body, this is the class. If I could describe her classes in two words, sexy and sweaty come to mind. The kind of sexy that is barefoot and strong. I often laugh out loud in her classes as well. And I love the music she chooses. It's all over the place, but always fun. Jenn is super playful but don't be fooled -- that woman is a powerhouse of wisdom. You'll be in good hands, and likely leave loving your body a little more.

Just a few minutes into my first class, I found myself loving it. It's a great addition to my work out routine. The no pressure, feel-good approach works for me, and yet I still get a great workout. Jenn's positive attitude and warm personality just adds to the overall feeling of enjoyment. I will continue with Nia and hope to reap the benefits for a long time to come.

Solis Movement is a yoga, Pilates, and reformer fitness studio that recently opened a few months…read moreago along King St. W. near Brant St (on the third floor). The fitness boutique's first location is located in Etobicoke. The majority of their yoga and Pilates classes are in a heated room where the reformers are in a different room (grip socks are required to use the reformers). I was able to experience a class at Solis Movement recently. Was excited to check out this space as I had seen so much of it on Instagram. Upon entering the third floor (there are stairs to climb), you are met with an open space that is light and airy. You are required to take your shoes off before entering the studio. There are many shoe racks available to place your shoes. There is some seating at the entrance before you make your way to the reception area. The reception area has some merch as well as accessories available for purchase. Changerooms (separate for men's and women's) are at the back. There are lockers in the hallway or in the changerooms. For the women's changeroom, there are 3 individual toilet stalls and 2 shower stalls. If you do decide to shower there are also Dyson hair dryers as well. I took a hot HIIT Pilates class during my time at Solis. The props for the class are located outside the yoga/Pilates room where the instructor tells you what to pick up before you enter. There are 2 different types of weights (2 pounds or 5 pounds) as well as 3 different type of resistance bands available for your choosing. There are also yoga blocks as well. For my class we were told to take a pair of weights, a block and a resistance band. Not knowing what exercises we would be doing I opted to get both set of weights and 2 types of resistance bands just in case. In the yoga/Pilates room, each mat is assigned a number. The instructor's mat is situated in the centre of the room but she also walks around as well. Our instructor for the class was great - she was enthusiastic and encouraged us to do our best with the workout as well as provided modifications for all fitness levels. Her instructions were clear and the music she played was definitely a vibe. I definitely worked up a sweat as we went through different exercises to target the whole body (glutes, abs, arms, back, etc.). Before the cool down, we ended class with a cardio set as well. Overall, Solis is definitely a great new addition to the King West neighbourhood offering hot yoga/Pilates and reformer classes in a bright and light atmosphere. Definitely would consider to return if I want to switch up my workouts once in a while!
