When I visited last they were doing and 80's pop & alternative party, which was a mix of the new wave hits an American would expect mixed with more obscure (to me) German selections. The only drawback (and thus a star docked) is that the place really needs better AC - it can get crazy hot and stuffy once the dancing gets going!

Music is really hit-and-miss. Sometimes the back room closes early, and sometimes the entire club closes early, depending on how many people are there. Depending on the number of people and the time of year, it can get really hot. One time I actually went home to change clothes! It's an okay place to go if you're bored or looking to do something last minute, but I wouldn't go out of my way to plan to go here unless I wasn't able to get a ride or bus it to Berlin.

I'm not sure why the drink prices on here are listed as moderate. They aren't, and you will get more than moderately tipsy for minimal money. The place is open super late. Or "early" in the daytime. I honestly can't remember ;) I do recall biking to work past there at like 8:30AM and seeing people sitting outside.

I came to Leipzig for a Wagner festival that they had in May 2016. The Leipzig Opera put on three…read morerarely performed early Wagner works: Die Feen, Das Liebesverbot, and Rienzi. They were performed on three consecutive nights on a weekend in May. This made it ideal for a visitor since I could stay for four nights and take in three operas plus go to the symphony on my fourth night. I have now been to several of the main opera houses worldwide and thought the Oper Leipzig was truly outstanding, especially in terms of the performances and the acoustics in the building. I had not heard of any of the singers and they seem to have company singers that they use in their performances, but I thought almost all the voices I heard were outstanding and on a par with top international talent. The Leipzig Gewandhaus orchestra, which plays with the opera, of course if one of the top orchestras in the world, and their performance in the operas was really the high point. The staging for all three operas was excellent. I am usually in favor of more traditional stagings, and the Leipzig Oper did a few modern adaptations, but I didn't find that it distracted too much. The building itself is not ornate like the Semperoper in Dresden or the Wiener Staatsoper. However, I think the outstanding acoustics and the excellent sightlines and comfortable seats give you really all you need. One problem, though, is that it was fairly warm while I was there and they do not seem to have very good air conditioning in the building. It is interesting that they have very large portraits of their singers posted in the lobby areas, with each singer in two different poses. The selection of refreshments is very good and prices exceedingly reasonable. I got a glass of wine during intermission for just three euros. The prices of the opera tickets themselves are also exceedingly reasonable, with top seats in the front orchestra section ranging around 75 to 95 euros. I definitely recommend this opera house and look forward to visiting again for their innovative and excellent performances.

I had very little expectation before arriving to something I believe would be "boring".... (how fun can a ballet be right?).... The whole of the second act I was I tears. I felt so Involved. I do not have the penmanship of Shakespeare to explain to you how good this performance was. Whos every job it is to select the props should be given a medal. The head female dancer (probably has a title I don't know) as she was dieing let out short breaths as she danced that were somehow so powerful. Maybe every ballet is like this. I doubt it. However a day later, I'm sat in Starbucks and it's the only thing I can think about. Thank you so much...

Came here without reservations and were sat immediately which was great during a busy Christmas…read moremarket weekend. My husband and I ordered the fish and chips and it was not good. They also had no tartar sauce which is a must with fish and chips. I gave 4 stars as the service was great, our waitress truly tried, and the beer was cold and crisp. The place is big and they were showing a soccer match for sport fanatics.

We all split the pork knuckle, pork pulled pretzel burger, spinach dumpling in blue cheese sauce, and the steak & spaetzle. The portions were all ginormous and hearty - everything was amazing. I got up to get service inside, after waiting and , as she saw me go inside. she responded in German that she would be there when she was finished. OK, why didn't you come over whileI waited? Too busy drinking with friends? Drink on your own time! A different waitress approached and started to berate me, in English, claiming her colleague was just talking with friends and not drunk on the job. Really! Ok. Good try. but your "colleague" never came over to serve me at all and you did! She had a wine glass in her hand and was drinking! I don't care she's drinking, I just want a drink! Then, the new waitress started complaining and berating me because I I placed the menu she gave me on a wet table after a rainfall . OK, do blame me? Clean the table. It's your job . Where was I supposed to put the menu? Served my drink by a guy. Third person I saw. Where was my waitress? No tip. No food order. Never come again... Very Disappointed. I was ready to spend a lot of money having a good time but the mood was spoiled. Recommend the management supervise their personnel to make sure they are serving customers instead of drinking.
