On Monday I spoke to someone who said they would send the financing application via email and help me arrange a tow. I never heard back. I left atleast four messages. The following Friday I stopped in at 8:00 AM (scheduled open time) but no one was there. Unbelievable no one answered the phone, returned my calls or even bothered to show up to open the shop. Makes me wonder if they are in business anymore. If they are, it won't be for long. Hwy guys -- Answer the phone. Return your calls. And, show up to open the shop. What a joke. I clearly explained my situation--that I didn't want to put money into the car, just wanted a price. The guy insisted he needed to see it, saying it could be something else. Thinking it might be a minor issue, I brought it in. All he did was check the transmission fluid level and scan for codes--both things that require no special shop skills. Then he told me I needed a brand-new transmission, not a rebuilt one. The kicker? He charged me $175 for doing almost nothing. If you're planning to have your transmission replaced, maybe they're fine for that. But for me, their customer service is a zero. I checked my own fluid and code scans are free at AutoZone--though I never had a check engine light, so no codes would have shown anyway. To make matters worse, they also charged me for a part I requested a refund for, which was never replaced, and they never refunded me. Terrible way to do business.

John told me I was getting a "low mileage" transmission -- turns out it had 90,000 miles. He told me the transmission cost was $2,500 -- but I literally photographed the supplier document showing it was $1,750. I was promised free diagnostics -- then they charged me for them anyway. And on top of all that, my final bill was over $1,300 higher than what it should have been after warranty coverage. Every time I pointed out a discrepancy, the story changed. This place is unethical. I've already filed complaints with AAMCO Corporate, BBB, AND my warranty company. Do yourself a favor: DO NOT trust this shop with your car or your money. John, the manager was misleading, inconsistent, and not transparent at multiple levels.

When we arrived to check in for the Rocky Mountaineer train we had no reservation. We thought since we made the reservation a year ahead there would be no problem. WRONG. The reservations were actually made on Via a Canadian Amtrak. We weren't even seated together no panoramic views. No first class dining or. Staying at nice hotels on the way. I found him here on Yelp and hired him for a PPI to look at a 2003 Tiburon. A family member is an enthusiast for these old cars which they wanted to make into a "hot hatch". I met Lee at the dealer, which was a long drive to the dealer for both of us. And of course the car was in a back lot 3 or 4 rows deep. So while waiting for the dealer to find the car and bring it to the front, Lee noticed some teenagers who were there to look at a Civic SI. One of them was checking for rust by knocking his knuckles on the car body. Lee smiled at this and went over to chat with them and before you know it, he was reviewing the car with them, explaining how you really check for rust, opened the hood and began digging into how to tell if this Civic was running well or not. He looks underneath the car by getting on the ground and actually looking. I noticed all the other guys, both the dealer guys and the buyers, were hesitant to do this. I think they were intimidated because he obviously knew much more about engines than they did. I was impressed that Lee has the instincts of an educator. He really wants to not just evaluate the car but to teach others how to examine a car. Eventually the Tiburon appears and then Lee quickly went through his process. He focuses on the engine and doesn't move on from that until all issues are covered. In this case, he zeroed in immediately on the coolant system. It wasn't holding pressure. I watched as he carefully tested and retested and showed the dealer technician that the system was bad and that it was leaking. We had already been there for an hour and a half so it was decided that the dealer would pull a hose from another car ( the dealer was close to a salvage yard) and repair it and then Lee would return to test it again. In the end, even the dealer gave up on this car, he didn't complete any repair and we moved on. But I will have Lee examine any car we are considering. He is an excellent mechanic, fair and honest.

Less than 24 hours later, the car broke down in a dangerous way. AAA confirmed the repair was unsafe and improperly done, and another certified mechanic verified this. The axle came out and nearly caused a serious accident. When I contacted him, instead of refunding the payment, he admitted in text messages that "the axle came out" but refused to return the money. He also tried to deflect responsibility by making inappropriate comments about race and insisted on "fixing" it again -- despite my clear statements that I no longer trusted him after such unsafe work. I have full documentation: receipt, CashApp payment, AAA confirmation, mechanic statement, and text messages from his phone. This needs to be on record to prevent him from scamming and endangering others. He is also not listed with the BBB as a registered business -- but I have filed a complaint so there will now be a record. If he scammed you too, REPORT HIM. Businesses that operate this way do not last. Add On: It's not harassment to ask for my money back after a repair failed in less than 24 hours and almost caused an accident. I didn't need to make an appointment, they checked my car within 20-30 minutes, and gave me an honest assessment of what was going on with the tire.
