Im a deaf customer and sometimes dealing with those in the hearing world is challenging. It was nice to see she knew some sign language and was willing and, actually initiated the need to write notes back and forth to assure that all communication was being understood. Ive in in the bank before and usually whoever is in the window just tries to talk and this is not effective. She was very busy as well.. there were three lines and at least 2 cares in each line. I didnt get her name but did I appreciate the service..

F&M Trust is our bank of choice. When we moved back to this area after being away for a few years,…read moreit was recommended we go with F&M Trust, and I'm very happy we did. The Norland Avenue branch is very close to us, and is where we do the majority of our banking. When we opened up our account, it was easy, options were fully explained, and we felt good about the entire experience. We ran into a snag in getting our money transferred from our old bank in Florida to here, but the woman who helped me that day was so very nice and got it all worked out. She had excellent customer service skills. Panic mode was starting to set in with me that day, but she assured me it would get taken care of, and it did. My husband goes there to deposit his paychecks, as he doesn't have direct deposit. He reports they are always very friendly to him and he rarely has to wait in line. I have full confidence and trust in F&M Trust.

This is totally ridiculous. I had cashed the same kind of check weeks ago. But when I asked before doing this transaction I was told yes, because essentially my car loan is like having an account with you. NO wonder I had previously removed all my funds from your credit union due to taken an amount of money because my savings account did not have any movement. That is the reason for a savings account to save money.

I have two problems with Patriot…read more Long-time account holder, 780 credit score. Asked for a refinance on my auto loan due to the unusually high interest rate. Patriot wanted to charge thousands of dollars to even process that application, which would be the equivalent of the money saved in the first place. They treat my spouse just fine, because he is a he, it seems. Same credit score and work history as me. There would be no other reason than my sex to deny a refinance. Met someone at the bank a while ago to conduct official business. The man involved is Black. Two white ladies interrupt our meeting to warn us of people scamming others and offering "protection". The staff has always been friendly so this was indeed surprising. They would likely not have come in if the man wasn't Black. Sexist AND racist. It seems this group has adopted the new federal guidelines imposing these "wonderful family values". The name never occured to me through the maga hell we're all being forced to live through since ignorance and a loathing for reading abounds in small towns. But, it all makes sense now, in retrospect. Read the constitution, "Patriots". If banks begin closing females and people of color's accounts, this bank would be the first one to do it. God help us all. Maga will lose.

First I like the convenient placement of this location. When we first moved here two years ago we…read moredid everything in this little area because many of the big stores and chain restaurants are near. The Keurig in the small waiting area is also a plus. The tellers are always smiling and helpful. The personal bankers are a different story. We have been able to get all of our business done, but they (we have met with two different people) don't give you a feeling of confidence. That feeling that you want to expand the relationship. Such is the state of service these days. It's true that most of our banking is done online, but I still like to pop into a branch sometimes. Call me old school. Funny story: I have gotten rolls of quarters here twice and both times one of my "quarters" was a nickel.

If I Could Give Zero Stars, I Would: Orrstown Bank Charges…read moreAbsurd Fees and Treats Loyal Customers Like Trash. Since merging with Codorus Valley Bancorp (PeoplesBank) in July of 2024, Orrstown has lost every trace of its hometown values, what used to feel like a community bank now acts like a cold, profit-hungry corporation. Someone I know personally--who has been a loyal Orrstown Bank customer for over seven years with zero prior issues was recently slammed with $150 in charges for simply transferring money from a savings account to a checking account. That's $10 per transfer, all taken at once, without any warning, alert, or notice. Just gone. This wasn't reckless spending--this was money being moved to cover rent and other monthly expenses. And instead of acting with integrity, Orrstown chose to quietly drain the account. Their website claims they offer "the best value" and "strive to keep service fees low." That's false. These kinds of outdated, predatory policies don't reflect a bank that values people, they reflect one that profits from quietly punishing customers for using their accounts. The worst part? When the customer tried to resolve the issue, one branch acknowledged the possibility of a refund based on the account's perfect history--but said the request had to go through their home branch. Enter the New Holland, PA branch manager, who was not only completely dismissive, but actually refused to give his name, saying, "I won't tell you my name again because you're going to slander me online." That kind of behavior is beyond unprofessional--it's cowardly. It's what happens when a manager knows they're doing wrong and doesn't want to be held accountable. Let's be clear: this bank took $150 from a loyal customer with zero notice and refused to make it right. The attitude, the policy, and the refusal to offer even basic decency all point to a bank that does not care about the people who trust it. Orrstown Bank: you need to fix this. Reverse the fees. Hold your staff accountable. And if you're serious about customer service, stop letting managers act like gatekeepers instead of problem-solvers. To anyone considering Orrstown: don't do it. There are better banks out there, banks that won't treat you like a nuisance for asking to access your own money.
