Who does that anymore? Everything is online. Unfortunately my husband was told the bank would be unable to add me to his accounts over the phone or online, so we had to go to a branch on a Saturday (yesterday) to update the information. When we walked in, there were probably a dozen people in line and the bank seemed very busy, but the Relationship Manager Veronica came right over to us and asked us if she could help. When my husband explained what we needed she sat us down at her desk and began helping us immediately. She was very friendly and explained that she had to update a lot of information because we had never been in to a branch before. We understood and waited patiently and had a nice chat. She was great! Veronica gets 5 stars! It probably took 20 minutes to get our accounts merged and get me an ATM card which I think was very reasonable. I would probably have been on the phone with customer service longer than that to get anything done. My husband and I were both smiling....until...she told us that the manager "likes to meet everyone." The manager walked over and greeted us both and, I wanted to type "shook our hands" but what he did was put his hand out and touch my hand gently. I believe his name was Ikram. He explained we would be getting a survey and asked about Veronicas service and stated that anything less than a "10" on the survey was unacceptable. I don't know if he was trying to be deliberately obtuse or condescending, but he was very off putting and ruined what would have been a 5 star visit. I wanted to take off two stars for the ridiculous way he spoke to us but Veronica doesn't deserve that. When I saw the 1.5 star rating for this branch I was surprised but if the manager insists on talking to clients like they are subordinates, then I can see why the rating is low. If I had to go to a physical branch again, I would definitely stop here, but I would ask to skip the instructional meeting with a supervisor. Both my husband and I completed the surveys and gave Veronica the 10/10 she deserves but I hope to get a survey on the manager in the future, so that I may voice my opinions on him!

I met Gill during a visit while attending Dads account and he helped me start my own CD at an exceptionally good rate at that time. He actually remembered my Dad. I have returned to renew my CD here and each time I'm attended to quickly and respectfully. I also enjoy the ease of their online bill pay, easy to learn and use. Gill, as well as the whole team there seems to want to bend over backwards to accomplish my tasks. I will continue to return to this bank in the future.

I opened a teen account for my son years back and when it came time to close the account, they kept refusing. I went inside in person because I assumed there was some sort of miscommunication and they still refused to let me close the account. I took out all the money and they said they wanted to keep it open "in case he ever changed his mind". I had been there for over an hour and had tried multiple times to close it online and I just couldn't waste any more time. I honestly should have reported them for fraud at that time but I still had another account there. Looking back, it was probably a part of the fake-accounts scandal they were found guilty of. Another time I was having an issue with my account, I went in to talk to someone and the only reason I am not giving one star was that they were prioritizing non-english speaking customers, meaning that although I was waiting first, they took another woman before me because she did not speak English and the agent that opened up was bilingual. I am not complaining about that, I actually thought that was very thoughtful and that's why they get an extra star. Overall this is definitely a 1 star bank but at least this branch cares about vulnerable customers. I recently got a credit card from this location and I have had it less than a month but they freeze my card after every two transactions so I just cancelled the card but it was a nightmare. I went into this location in Lodi to complete a cash advance with my USAA debit card. A gentleman…read morebegan to assist me, but when he asked the teller down the way about the transaction, she loudly responded from across the way that it could not be done without Executive Director approval, which could take hours. She never walked over to address me directly and instead chose to speak over everyone in the branch. This was unprofessional, embarrassing, and completely inappropriate in front of other customers. She apologized to the customers waiting . Check the cameras ! I was calm even after getting off a 16 hour shift as an officer and driving hours away . I explained that the funds were urgently needed for my mother's cancer treatment. My mother is on her deathbed, and I had just driven three hours from the Bay Area in traffic . The lack of courtesy, empathy, and professionalism shown at this branch was appalling. I later went to another branch where the cash advance was completed without issue, which makes the refusal at Lodi even more unacceptable. The service here left me with a terrible impression of F&M Bank. In a small community like Lodi, customer service should mean more, not less. This branch needs serious review and staff retraining. The way I was spoken to and dismissed is not the standard any bank should allow to represent its brand.
