I tend to be extremely rigorous evaluating top end restaurants like Eça. You will not regret the experience. It is worth every penny, especially if you earn in a foreign currency, since Brazilian currency is struggling lately. Eça is a hidden gem below a Brazilian jewellery.
Couvert is just ok, but might be worth it if you fancy it. I do not usually order couvert, but the nuts with spices were very tasty. Apart from that, bread and tiny slices of potatoes and toast with toppings would not justify charging R$ 20,00.
Do not get me wrong. From the starters onwards the restaurant was just fantastic. The scallops dish looks like a work of art. It is also delicious. So is the poached egg, not the most beautiful dish, but tastes absolutely delicious.
Main courses from Eça are absolutely mouthwatering. Fillet or premium meat (even more delicious). You name it. I do not get easily convinced when going to super expensive restaurants but I was completely overwhelmed.
I could have been misinterpreted with this review so far, maybe because I was already satisfied before desert, even though I could not give up on an apple crepe with speculoos ice-cream, since I love speculoos. I did not regret a bit. A joyful experience. read more
