He was really personable, made feel relaxed so that I could articulate what I need properly and he would get it right away. I'm newish to firearms so that was really helpful. I actually went in with a literal list of specific things I wanted down to the brand. Nick helped me find everything I was looking for, gave suggestions which I took, and it was all for the better because I loved what I left with after installing everything. Not to mention the prices are so solid. I had an idea from researching online about how much I'd spend; well I ended up spending almost half of what I thought. After a horrific visit at a close by competitor that has USA in their name... this place stood out like a beacon in the night on a foggy night at sea. Upon entering we were immediately greated within 3 seconds. The gentlemen there welcomed us in as if we were familiar family. We approached the counter and I asked them if they did trades and he said yes but it depends on exactly what I was interested in trading. I went back to my vehicle to show them my trade and a little background and they were more than happy to give me close to what I purchased it for as it was only 2 days old from where I originally purchased it from. They happily gave us a small tour of their facilities and showed us some products of interest. They were extremely knowledgeable about every product there as they are also a gunsmith shop so can also do any type of modification allowable. I was extremely happy to hear that they have a 30 days return policy on anything you buy there. Their nearby competitor surely doesn't have that same policy. The customer service is excellent and I was able to make my trade as well as buy new hardware. I'm also happy to announce that they are adding a range early next year right next to them. I love that small shop feel of a place vs the corporate treatment where you're treated only as a number. In fact, whilst I was there another customer walked in complaining about that same nearby competitor and how bad they were with customer service. It wasn't crowded and getting signed in was a breeze. You have to sign a waiver + watch a short video. Afterward, you show your ID to the attendant and make your purchase. We brought our own firearm, protective eyewear, and aim sheets (idk what they're called). So, we only had to purchase ear protection and bullets. Take my advice and purchase the over the ear protection and not the small orange ones that go in the ear. Ear and eye wear are mandatory. $6 annual fee if it's your first time. They have memberships available. Ashton was the facilitator in the booths and he was SUPER helpful. I walked away feeling more confident and safe handling my firearm. He was patient, knowledgeable, and pleasant! Thanks so much for making this experience an enjoyable one! Because he shared that we should set objectives for shooting when we come, we plan to return to practice different things each time. Great place, worth the coins and the visit! Terrible Inventory and Customer Service - Lost a Customer for Good…read more I placed two separate orders with Academy - one for home delivery and one for curbside pickup. Both orders showed items in stock and were marked as preparing for shipment/pickup. Shortly after, both were canceled because the items were supposedly out of stock. To make things worse, I had to deal with terrible customer service. No real help, no clear answers - just frustration. Now I'm stuck waiting for two separate payment holds to be processed so I can get my money back, all because of their mistake and poor inventory system. This entire experience was an inconvenience from start to finish. Academy has lost me as a customer, and I'll be telling my family to avoid shopping here as well. If you value your time, money, and patience, shop somewhere else.
