For some like myself I was on a strict budget and I searched Hi and low for a common that could capture one of the most memorable days on film. Hi Light pricing is affordable and considering what you get from it. It's a deal! I was so pleased with our video and the coverage. It's more than just. Wedding video you get. You get a mini film capturing not great shots. But a great story! If your looking for someone to capture the moment and not just the shot then you will not go wrong. One word to sum up Hi Light Films: Wow!…read more One of the best investments you could ever make for your wedding day is to hire amazing videographers like Jordan, Amber and their team. At the end of the day, when everyone has forgotten the speeches, what color your napkins you had, the type of flowers you had in your centerpieces or the dance moves you were seeing on the dance floor, the one thing that you will forever have is your wedding film! I say look no further! Jordan is very easy going and was easily accessible every time we had questions. He was quick to schedule a phone call with us whenever we wanted to clarify information. He was also very honest with us in term of our timeline and gave us suggestions on what we can do to best utilize our day. Hi Lights captured our day beautifully. The opening shot legitimately looks like a painting-they really captured the beauty of our venue! They captured special moments like my grandma on the dance floor having a blast with our glow sticks to my mom and little brother slow dancing. Right off the bat, I felt at ease when I met Amber. She is personable and funny. It never felt awkward that we had cameras on us. They worked discretely-always ensuring that they were not intruding or blocking anyone's view. At one point, I saw Amber and Michael on the GROUND and I had no idea how long they have been filming there to make sure that they get all the shots they needed!! They're video ninjas with a purpose! In addition, their turn around time is unbelievable. Our film was ready to go about 2.5 weeks after our wedding (their timeline might vary depending on the season). Give Hi Light an email or a call and you won't regret it! You guys are awesome! Thanks!!

She caught pivitol moments during the ceremony, crowd reactions, our family portraits, couples photos (with some amazing photo tricks), our entrance/first dance, and our hula dancer. For the portraits, she was super quick, made everyone feel comfortable, and captured some great couples photos with tricks that made us look natural. We couldn't believe she was done so quickly but she sent us back in to celebrate. I've heard horror stories about photographers who take a long time to deliver the photos, or lose the photos, or take bad shots. You'll get none of that from Cheynice. She delivered beautiful photos, captured wedding details that we didn't even know to ask for, all within one month of the event. Stick with a pro and book Anela Productions.

I was referred to John through a friend who also had pictures taken with Lahaina Photography. She sent me his website where I tried to contact him, but kept receiving an error message. Instead, I reached out to John via Lahaina Photography's Facebook page listed on their website. I sent a private message and John was quick to respond setting up a date. We had one phone call to arrange locations. While John is located in Lahaina, I was staying in Kihei. He was nice enough to meet our family early Saturday morning just after sunrise in Kihei. It was a fun, casual photo shoot. I have a 16 month old daughter so I wasn't really interested in something too formal. John was very patient with my daughter. She did go into full tantrum mode (for most of the shoot ugh!) and he handled it with such patience. We ended up getting a few great shots of her as well as us as a family. I enjoyed speaking with John about island life, his adventures growing up on the island as well as his former military life where he learned to take professional photos. His rates are also incredibly reasonable. I would absolutely recommend John and Lahaina Photography. Within a couple days, I received a few edited pictures from him through a link on his website. Within a week I had all images some edited, some raw through a link on his website. He also mails all (100+) images on CD. This was a super fun addition to our trip and I'm glad we were able to capture some pics of our first vacay as a family! Also, he takes CC or cash.

He suggested a beautiful location that we would not have found otherwise and on the day of our photo shoot he was early and met us exactly where we expected. I thought we'd spend about 30 minutes with him, but he spent much more time with us and took hundreds of pictures. He was very patient with our children and took beautiful pictures of them acting natural (not posed). After the photo shoot, he got the digital pictures to us in a really reasonable amount of time. Our family pictures turned out beautiful and we could not be more happy! I'm hoping we can return to Maui in a few years and we will definitely contact John again for updated pictures!

We couldn't have asked for a better photographer...PERIOD…read more Although this review is long overdue since my wife and I were married in January of 2020, I wanted to write it when I could focus because it deserves my full attention. PRE-WEDDING From the beginning, he was very attentive, asked a lot of good questions, and I could tell he really wanted to know what our vision was for our photos and who we wanted extra shots of such as parents and best friends. Also, I could tell he reinvested his money in his business because of his quality website and client portal. It was easy to navigate, and tracked every conversation we had for transparency and no misunderstandings. "Sometimes the little things make the biggest differences." WEDDING DAY  We were nervous because we didn't have time to do any practice shots with Chris (which was highly recommended from friends) such as take our engagement photos, so our wedding day was the first time we ever met him in person but he just jumped right as though we had been friends forever and worked his magic.  Not sure if he remembers, but when I first arrived at the venue and met Chris in person for the first time, the wind was blowing extremely hard and I was freaking out because of the weather in Lahaina that afternoon. I asked him, "Are we gonna be ok?" Without hesitation he said "it's gonna be fine and you will have a beautiful wedding." Throughout the wedding, he showed excellent leadership skills by helping us stay organized, timely, calm, and focused on taking things in so we could cherish the moments but also allowing us time to mingle with our guests. It almost felt like Chris could have also been our wedding coordinator since he was so competent. Everyone just loved Chris because of his fun and vibrant personality.  CONCLUSION Chris delivered our photos faster than anticipated and I kid you not, we just loved every single shot; therefore, it's so hard to make our wedding album because we want ALL the photos in there.  Overall, his personality won us over, his talent made our wedding day fun, memorable, and timeless. Chris exceeded our expectations in every way and I would recommend him and his amazing team, a thousand times over. He's not just a world class photographer, but honored to call him our new friend. After inquiring with several photographers, I decided to go with them because I loved the way they used light to capture the beauty of the people and beautiful scenery. Wow, am I glad I chose them. From the start, they were amazing to work with. I was not sure what location(s) I wanted to take photos at and Bri provided several options and sample photos that they took at each location so that I could make an informed decision about where I wanted to take the pictures. They also use an online portal to make the engagement process super quick and easy. When the day of the photoshoot arrived, Bri and Josh made the photoshoot so fun and relaxed! They were so down to earth and easy to talk to, and suggested poses for me and my husband so that we did not have to awkwardly stand there wondering what to do haha! It was such a fun experience and I loved every second of it. Now, the best part -- Bri sent over some sneak peek pictures and I am obsessed with how beautiful they turned out. Their talent is out of this world and they are worth every penny. I am waiting in anticipation for the rest of the photos. :) Josh and Bri, I cannot thank you both enough for capturing this special time in our lives. We hope to have the opportunity to work with you again, and to everyone reading this review, do no hesitate to book them for your photos. You will regret it if you don't!!

I refused and that's when they revealed that they had double booked with a wedding. They told me either I had to change the date or they would refund me. They made it out to seem as if it was an accident but it was a Saturday night and to me, someone probably asked to book them after I had already had a contract and they decided to put the wedding first because it brings in more profit. To me, that's pretty bad business etiquette. Why bother making clients pay a deposit to reserve the date if you're going to cancel on me when something better comes along? I told them I was pretty disappointed but they didn't offer any additional solutions. In all fairness, they were nice to talk to, their portfolio looks great, and their prices are decent but even though I did have other dates available, I no longer trusted them and did not want to work with them anymore. But now it's late and I haven't found another photographer so we're no longer doing photos in Hawaii which I do blame them for. Hence the one star review.
