I admittedly looked into things later than I should have and was relieved when Matthew told me he was available the day before we departed back to the Mainland. We opted for a 2-hour sunset session as I wanted to capture some of those beautiful Hawaiian shave-ice colored skies! We were pleasantly surprised when both Matthew and Madelynne showed up -- I wasn't expecting a second shooter! My husband is a bit shy/nervous in front of the camera, but these two made it so fun and easy! (In fact, after the trip my husband admitted the photography session was a major highlight of our vacation!) They were great at directing and open to ideas. They also gave us a few moments to enjoy the sunset to ourselves which made for some great candid shots. They have an excellent eye for capturing both expressions, moments, and of course, the breathtaking landscape of Hawaii. (definitely check out their website and blog -- they have the ability to capture lovely images at all times of day -- early morning, midday, sunset, and even the beautiful starlit sky) We started out in the early evening at our hotel and moved down to a secluded beach later for the sunset session. I honestly did not know exactly what to expect, but after receiving the images (super quick to boot - the turn around time for our session was about a week!!!) I was FLOORED - - I loved just about every single picture. Their style is so unique and unexpected...sophisticated, artistic yet accessible, playful and romantic. You'll definitely have a few pictures that you'll want to blow up and hang above the fireplace! :) For the quality of work you are getting, they are a STEAL. After doing some other research online, I am convinced they are one of the best on the island. I was also quite pleased with their response time -- communicating and coordinating was easy. Although Matthew and Madelynne aren't natives, they really do embody the spirit of the islands -- they are incredibly knowledgeable about island history (in fact, aside from their photography, I think they also do tours!) and spiced up our session with fun facts about Maui and the surrounding islands. He even extended our session which was needed with 2 young kids who are not always cooperative and take awhile to capture photos. He was very communicative prior to the photoshoot and the meeting location instructions made it easy to find. We loved the photos we got back. Thank you for capturing our first family trip to Maui. He was able to pose our family and kids, which is always needed when we have family photoshoots because amidst the chaos of wrangling toddlers, we don't have the capacity to try to figure out what poses to do. After inquiring with several photographers, I decided to go with them because I loved the way they used light to capture the beauty of the people and beautiful scenery. Wow, am I glad I chose them. From the start, they were amazing to work with. I was not sure what location(s) I wanted to take photos at and Bri provided several options and sample photos that they took at each location so that I could make an informed decision about where I wanted to take the pictures. They also use an online portal to make the engagement process super quick and easy. When the day of the photoshoot arrived, Bri and Josh made the photoshoot so fun and relaxed! They were so down to earth and easy to talk to, and suggested poses for me and my husband so that we did not have to awkwardly stand there wondering what to do haha! It was such a fun experience and I loved every second of it. Now, the best part -- Bri sent over some sneak peek pictures and I am obsessed with how beautiful they turned out. Their talent is out of this world and they are worth every penny. I tried to book WPP for my vacation dates and even though I had a contract and had reserved the…read moredate by putting a deposit down, WPP tried to ask me to reschedule. I refused and that's when they revealed that they had double booked with a wedding. They told me either I had to change the date or they would refund me. They made it out to seem as if it was an accident but it was a Saturday night and to me, someone probably asked to book them after I had already had a contract and they decided to put the wedding first because it brings in more profit. To me, that's pretty bad business etiquette. Why bother making clients pay a deposit to reserve the date if you're going to cancel on me when something better comes along? I told them I was pretty disappointed but they didn't offer any additional solutions. In all fairness, they were nice to talk to, their portfolio looks great, and their prices are decent but even though I did have other dates available, I no longer trusted them and did not want to work with them anymore. But now it's late and I haven't found another photographer so we're no longer doing photos in Hawaii which I do blame them for. Hence the one star review.

Nicole was the first to respond, and she immediately began communicating with my wife. She answered all our questions and made the decision to book with her incredibly easy. Once we arrived on the island, Nicole stayed in touch--discussing possible locations, weather concerns, and the vision we had for the shoot. When the scheduled day came, the weather was awful. Nicole called us to reschedule, and we agreed to try again the evening before we flew back home. Unfortunately, that day brought two new challenges: a difficult family situation and even worse weather than before. We were completely deflated--disappointed, sad, frustrated, and unsure if the shoot could or should even happen. Nicole was amazing. She remained understanding, compassionate, patient, and completely willing to adapt to whatever we needed. As we stood in the parking lot of DT Fleming Beach in the middle of a torrential downpour--just an hour before sunset--Nicole encouraged us not to give up. She and I gently persuaded my wife to at least walk down to the beach and see if the storm might pass. We were already there, with nothing to lose. As the rain began to ease and Nicole started guiding us, what followed was nothing short of magical. She captured a once-in-a-lifetime series of photos that we'll cherish forever. Two rainbows appeared, and she photographed us walking toward them, with the vibrant colors illuminating our backdrop. As the sun tried to peek through the clouds, Nicole made the most of every moment--capturing stunning images that perfectly told the story of our family's resilience and love. Even after we returned home, struggling to decide which photos to choose and wanting to purchase more, Nicole's kindness and professionalism never wavered. We're absolutely thrilled with the final results. I can't speak highly enough of the way Nicole managed the entire experience--from before we arrived to after we left. If you're looking for someone to capture your vision and the breathtaking beauty of Maui, give her a chance. You won't regret it!

We couldn't have asked for a better photographer...PERIOD…read more Although this review is long overdue since my wife and I were married in January of 2020, I wanted to write it when I could focus because it deserves my full attention. PRE-WEDDING From the beginning, he was very attentive, asked a lot of good questions, and I could tell he really wanted to know what our vision was for our photos and who we wanted extra shots of such as parents and best friends. Also, I could tell he reinvested his money in his business because of his quality website and client portal. It was easy to navigate, and tracked every conversation we had for transparency and no misunderstandings. "Sometimes the little things make the biggest differences." WEDDING DAY  We were nervous because we didn't have time to do any practice shots with Chris (which was highly recommended from friends) such as take our engagement photos, so our wedding day was the first time we ever met him in person but he just jumped right as though we had been friends forever and worked his magic.  Not sure if he remembers, but when I first arrived at the venue and met Chris in person for the first time, the wind was blowing extremely hard and I was freaking out because of the weather in Lahaina that afternoon. I asked him, "Are we gonna be ok?" Without hesitation he said "it's gonna be fine and you will have a beautiful wedding." Throughout the wedding, he showed excellent leadership skills by helping us stay organized, timely, calm, and focused on taking things in so we could cherish the moments but also allowing us time to mingle with our guests. It almost felt like Chris could have also been our wedding coordinator since he was so competent. Everyone just loved Chris because of his fun and vibrant personality.  CONCLUSION Chris delivered our photos faster than anticipated and I kid you not, we just loved every single shot; therefore, it's so hard to make our wedding album because we want ALL the photos in there.  Overall, his personality won us over, his talent made our wedding day fun, memorable, and timeless. Chris exceeded our expectations in every way and I would recommend him and his amazing team, a thousand times over. He's not just a world class photographer, but honored to call him our new friend.
