*Quarantine Delivery Review*…read more It was my fiancé's birthday and the Quarantine Birthday Boy wanted Cuban food, so that's what we ordered. Unfortunately, there were not a lot of Cuban options delivering to our area. It was between this place, and another one we had tried before, which was meh - so we decided to give Casa Cubana shot. Unfortunately, most of the things were not hot when it arrived because it took longer than the quoted one hour delivery time. We ordered: Chicharron de Pollo - nice flavor but a little on the salty side. They should probably also pick a different packaging for it because it was no longer crispy when it arrived Camerones el Ajillo - not much garlic flavor Albondigas - meatballs were nice and tender but again, a little too salty Lechon Asado (with yellow rice) - pork was tender, no complaints here Paella Valencia - wasn't a fan of the seafood Cubano - the pork was a bit dry and had a leftover-y taste. I liked the fresh plantain chips that it was served with though We also ordered some extra sides: black beans, yuca frita, and maduros. I normally don't love maduros but I really like these. Even more than the yuca frita (which is my typical go-to side) Overall, I would say the meat dishes are good, but the seafood ones are not that great. I also liked that they had all these small dishes, tapas style - so that we got to try a lot of different things, without breaking the bank or eating too much. I don't know if they can adjust their salt levels. Since they have 'Catering' in their name, I assume they make everything in large batches. But if they can, I wouldn't mind giving it another try.

Although not seasoned enough, the shrimp skewers were still good as were the mini Cuban sandwiches. The lechon was kind of dry and so I preferred the ropa vieja. Most of the sides were good, but unfortunately the maduros were subpar. Perhaps it was because i hadn't eaten them immediately. Overall, good food but I think best enjoyed fresh.

From the beginning of the process, Scott was responsive and worked with our schedule for the tasting. We were able to make a selection from many dishes and after trying their food we were sold! Especially the NY strip steak with bleu cheese! We received so many compliments on the food and many of our guests even went to compliment the kitchen team themselves! The Balinese chicken turned out to be my favorite, but they were all amazing! They made way more than enough food for everyone and brought containers for our guest and us to take the leftovers home. We love not wasting food! With our budget, we were thinking we could only get a decent caterer, but we lucked out with LDV. They are without a doubt one of the best in the business! They catered to our needs and even made suggestions on how to reduce cost. In our case we brought our own drinks for their bartender to serve, which helped reduce cost. This turned out amazing and our bartender, Mark, helped make it a smooth and tipsy night for our guests! Last but not the least, their service was top-notch. They helped with the buffet so people there would be no crowd and made sure everyone got their food in a timely manner and even made plates for my husband and I so we didn't need to take the time! We were ecstatic with the service and it was one of the smoothest parts of the entire wedding. 5-stars all-around.

Here's why we jumped at the chance to work with Scott and team: - no problem or request was too much - every email or phone call was returned - they kept every commitment: timing, cost, and of course, the food. Now let's get to the food. Word one: abundance. So much variety, all fresh, some surprises (gourmet jerky with a perfect French mustard) perfectly displayed despite the limitations of the space. The passed hors doevres were prepared on site and were delicious, beautifully served, and ample. For reference, this was a wedding cocktail reception for 30 people, Mid day, I would absolutely hire Scott and LDV for a similar event and I would not hesitate to have a full dinner catered under his watchful eye. Note: Scott's staff were professional, poised, and friendly.

However, the way the billing was handled was extremely disappointing and honestly very misleading. I was told that adding two additional guests would not be a problem, and at no point was I informed there would be an extra $150 charge. To only bring this up after the event is unacceptable. That kind of information should be clearly communicated at the time the request is made so customers can make an informed decision. What made matters worse was receiving a final email stating that my deposit would be kept because of those additional guests. That is completely unprofessional. I paid $2,772.20 for a pizza-making class for 17 kids and 16 adults, and in reality, only 15 kids and 15 adults attended--and only about 8 adults even participated in making pizza. There were no additional materials or accommodations that would justify keeping the deposit. While the event itself was a success, the lack of transparency and the decision to keep the deposit left a very bad impression. Customers should not have to deal with surprise charges after the fact.

When I saw that Hudson Table offers Chef Competition events, I knew it would be a fun option for my…read morehusband and me to check out. The format is basically like the show Chopped - two chefs (with the help of a sous chef) must prepare 3 different courses (app/entrée/dessert) using the ingredients from a mystery basket and are judged by the group. They have a certain amount of time for each round/course, and each mystery basket ingredient must only be used once over the 3 dishes. Each event is capped at 20 people - 12 seats at the counter and 8 seated at two tables behind the counter. Counter seats are only $10 more, however if the counter is sold out, it's totally fine to have a table seat. They encourage you to stand up and walk around, engaging with the chefs as they are preparing each dish. They have tasting sticks and allow you to taste sauces as they are being prepared. It's an intimate setting and it's a great way to learn about their techniques and the various ingredients. Watching them plate 20 dishes is incredible. All the food they prepared was delicious - there wasn't a bad dish. It's basically like having two full 3-course meals however you can take home any leftovers if you can't finish it all. You don't know the mystery ingredients ahead of time and they can't accommodate any allergies/preferences so that's something to keep in mind if you have allergies or are a picky eater. Our main proteins were chicken and steak so no issues there. At the end of each course, you have a score card where you rate each dish on presentation, creativity, and taste. At the end of the final round, we went around the room and told the chefs who we think should be crowned the night's winner. No getting out of telling them to their faces who was your favorite! It was a really fun night. The hostess was great and kept everyone pumped up and made sure our carafe of water was full. Both chef Ed and Guillermo were really cool and friendly - it was great to chat with them. They are amazing chefs. Some tips: don't be late! Don't dress too warmly especially if you are seated at the counter - it gets warm if you are near the stove burners. Bring wine - they have ice buckets for white/rosé. Book as soon as the calendar goes live if you want a counter seat. You are going to smell like oil/fried food when you leave... so ladies, don't get a fresh blowout ahead of time!
