I was up for my BLS renewal and googled places around the Austin area to get certified. I found and…read moresigned up with Life Sustaining Training center because it was located in south Austin. I signed up on the website. There are class times available 1-2 times a week. You can also do all your training online and come into the center to get checked off on the skills portion. I may consider that next time when my time is not as flexible. Note that Life Sustaining Training offers other courses like PALS, ACLS and CPR. Jessica was my instructor and the class was a total of three students including myself. The class consisted of instruction and information given by Jessica and a video. The students had to be able to demonstrate what we have learned on a mannequin for the skills portion. The mannequins are actually higher quality than I have ever practiced on which was a refreshing change. They had sensors on them to gauge if you are doing chest compressions correctly. Overall a great class, great location, and easy to sign up.

Brad is an excellent instructor - patient, kind and thorough. Jana was also an amazing instructor and an incredible human being. She unfortunately passed away last year. Brad has recently returned to teaching after he paused the business to care for her during her illness. I really enjoy Brad's classes as they are small groups and focus on need to know information. They are succinct and informative. He also offers online standardized lessons with a skills check-off. I drive almost an hour each way to attend these classes because they are worth it. You can't beat the price, format, or instructor and equipment quality. I highly recommend Brad and his business.

The front desk lady was extremely rude and dismissive, and her behavior was downright obnoxious. She refused to take the time to help with my concerns and made me feel unwelcome. It's disheartening because the rest of the visit was so positive, but this behavior has unfortunately soured my perception of the place. It's truly disappointing, and while I appreciated the esthetician and the environment, the poor customer service at the front desk means I won't be returning. A business's success depends on every team member providing excellent service.
