I went to this place for an annual examination. After my first appt they said they would email me the prescription. Waited two weeks, no email. Had to call them again and ask for it - whoever picked up the phone had an attitude but was able to get me what I need. Ok fine. They said my trial contact lenses would arrive in a week. I waited a whole month, called twice - neither got answered and the voicemail said I should email. Then I emailed, got an auto-response saying that I should expect a massive delay since it is year end. Also, a team member will get back to me in 2 business days. Again, waited another week, no response. I had to call the third time and finally someone picked up the phone and said the order is on its way. One week later, Today, after much effort, they said the order arrived. Asked if I could go now, and they said yes. When I got there, they said there was a miscommunication as I actually needed to book another appointment so that the doctor can make sure the trials look ok on me. Earliest available slot they have rn is in half an hour. Okay, I can wait. He also asked me to arrive five minutes early so that I can put the lenses on. Arrived 5 min early, put the trials on, he said they will call my name when they are ready. Then I waited another 20 minutes, after which they said they are running late. It has been a whole hour since I walked in, still no sign of the doctor. It's been a whole month now since my last visit when they said they placed my full year supply of contact lenses. Still never received them. I called 3 more times to eventually know that there is another MASSIVE DELAY. I'm beyond frustrated and pissed atm. Please, y'all Avoid this place at all costs. read more

This is my second year going to Eyexam for my annual eye exam. I love Santa Clara Square so the location is great! They're right next to Lula's Chocolates with plenty of parking, including a few designated spots just for Eyexam patients. They take COVID precautions seriously, starting with a protocol to text them when you arrive so that they can control how many patients are inside the facility. The inside feels upscale and clean, and the staff are all really nice. Both optometrists who saw me so far are knowledgeable, answer questions thoroughly, and (best of all) quick! They didn't rush, but they were efficient. I love it when my time sitting in any medical office is kept at a minimum! To top it off, the staff were so nice about helping me find frames that I felt comfortable with. I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years, and I NEVER felt like any of them did anything but a disservice to my face. They must've helped me try on two dozen different frames, and were sure to take the unwanted frames to a separate area for disinfecting later. Awesome customer service. My previous eye doctor did not have any appointments till 2 weeks out. I went online and found Eyexam. New patients (family) experience at Eyexam was phenomenal! Staff praticed social distancing by not letting anyone in the office until they were checked for their temperature and antibacterial their hands. The place was really clean and spacious. They have the latest technology for examining your eyeballs and a big selection on designer frames. Dr Hwang asked me if I've ever seen a picture of my eye. Of course I said No. Low and behold, I have healthy eyeballs. Dang it I forgot to ask for a copy of my eye. read more

The great part is that they let you book appointments online and they maintain good general hygiene. The doctors are good and friendly. My major reasons for the 3 stars are the fact that their service is very slow, took me 2 hours in an out for a basic eye exam and glasses selection. They didn't even give me a prescription to take with me. Second, the selection of frames is very limited you'd have to end with a compromise. Bumping up to 4 stars: they cared enough to call and explain the absenteeism that caused the above experience. Hopefully they'll devote the time in the future to plan appointments better. read more

We visited many stores and finally had our glasses done at Eyexam since they had a nice selection of frames. Christina's service was also excellent. She answered all our questions thoroughly, made some very good recommendations, and had great follow up when the frames were done. We visited several times and we didn't have to wait at all. When it was time for me to choose my frames after my exam, I felt rushed since they were closing. Went twice, once for getting new glasses and once for contact fitting. In both cases, Quynh was really nice and patient - I couldn't figure out how to wear contacts and she kept giving me tips. Dr. Huang is knowledgeable and it was very pleasant talking to her. She made sure to explain the concepts, informed me what each test does, what the results mean, and checked with me to see if I had any questions. Otherwise, the equipment there looked modern and the examination process was streamlined. Frames are a little on the pricier side, but there is a reasonable large selection, and I found a nice one within my budget. Overall it was a great experience, would definitely come back again. Only complaint: the bar stools there are a little squeaky :P read more

I worked with Dr. Kao today (and may have worked with Dr. Huang prior to that, if I'm remembering correctly) and they were both great. Very professional and kind. Additionally, I enjoyed my experience with the technician I worked with today prior to my exam with Dr. Kao. Tanya was also amazing and friendly and professional; she made my day. The office seems up-to-date and is clean and has a large selection of frames. For those reasons, I would consider continuing to come here. But I'm definitely more hesitant to return after working with Linda, who I felt was condescending and rude. I did not/do not appreciate being spoken to in that manner and it's enough of an issue for me that I'd consider not returning because of her tone. If it weren't for Tanya being so great, I think my interaction at the end of the appointment with Linda would have turned me off of returning here. Update: I received a call and apology and I really appreciated that and felt it shows they do care about customer service and making things right. read more

I am new to the South Bay and am hoping to not have to take ages to find my care providers. Thankfully, I have my optometrist locked down! I saw Dr. Tammy Hoang and it was efficient, straightforward, and they provided me with all the data points and information I could hope for about the results of my eye exam. I will say my last optometrist in San Diego (Dr. Melanie Langford if that ever is useful, she is incredible) was "warmer," but there is nothing wrong with being a straightforward provider like Dr. Hoang! I appreciate their attention to detail, their use of technology, and their commitment to quality in eye health and service providing. The REAL selling point for me was the super kind staff. First of all, they are all so glam. They all have gorgeous nails and I am living for it. But most importantly, they were SUPER welcoming, so kind, and really really helped me out when I was picking frames within my insurance coverage range. I will take a note here that they mostly carry designer brands and have a limited amount of frames under $200, but they certainly have enough for me. The staff helped me decide between a few frames and used their expertise to help me really figure out what would work best for my needs so far as frames and "add ons" (blue light, anti-glare, etc). I did not feel at all upsold, I simply was provided with what options there are, what my insurance covers, and what each option could do for me if utilized. All in all, this was very quick and efficient as well as enjoyable. What to expect: Parking is VERY easy. The building is beautiful, clean, and organized. When I arrived, I "checked in" with a staff who greeted me and I waited for just a few minutes (I arrived a little early) and a staff did my initial tests (the eye puff thing, eye scan, that squiggly line thing, the hot air balloon thing), then I went into an exam room to see Dr. Huang where I had a pretty typical exam and then they reviewed my results and I went back to pick out frames. It was a "typical" eye exam experience BUT the things that stood out was the very thorough review of my results and data points, ways to continue maintaining my eye health, and the superb support from the staff as I selected frames within my insurance coverage range and the options for the lens add-ons. Officially my ride or dies when it comes to eye and vision care. The entire staff here were incredibly polite from start to finish. Attentive, empathetic and great communication. The doctor and staff were wonderful at explaining not just the process, but purpose for every test and function throughout my visit. Even so much as educating me on pre existing conditions. Let me tell you when I first went in I thought this place wasn't for me! Lol. I decided to give them a shot. I set up a appointment and came back the following week. I was greeted by the front desk girl who was very kind. Then Norma took me back to get my eyes checked out before seeing the doctor. Must I say their equipment is "VERY HIGH END." I was surprised. Anyways, Dr. Nikki Iravani is awesome!!! She took the time to let me know my options since the contacts they let me try out didn't end up working out with my eyes. She told me about another brand, and I tried a "sample" pack of those and like magic they were so much better! Don't go! I went there a few months ago for an annual eye exam and they tried to sell eye exams that are not really necessary. They always try to hide the cost and will only tell if you ask for the cost. Additionally, after you finish your exam they try selling you over priced frames! One of their sales person keeps following you and advising you what to buy and what looks good on you. They get visibly upset if you don't buy anything. From a friend I recently heard that they have given them a wrong eye prescription. Seems to be an reoccurring issue with this place (see other reviews). read more

Finally had my eyes checked at EyeXam by Dr. Schwartz. Loved it. From the mintue I walked in the door the Jona and Nora were very inviting. I have been to alot of eye doctors, I must say the equipment in this office was straight out of The Jetsons! Very High tech. Ashley was very good at explaining each one. I will not recommend this shop, two times visiting experiences were very lousy. First time we visited on 9/23, we asked if store has mask to offer, without checking and they said no, but everyone coming after us they offered them a mask. 2nd time visit to pick up my glasses, I asked the store to confirm my transition lenses, they asked me to go out of the store and into the sun and stay longer so it would get darker. My past experience with other optical shop, they would use a special light to show me immediate effect. I will not come back nor I would recommend this store. read more

Why there are all good reviews here? because the owner threaten you not return your money if you leave bad reviews here! I had to go through my credit card company to get back my money and it took 2 months to clear things out. Please be patient with my long story after reading it may help you decide if you want to go there! Few months ago I got eye exam and glasses from them. It was not the closest optometry to me but all those good reviews here made me to drive longer trip. After eye exams I get home checking the eye prescription they sent through email, I noticed numbers does not look right, my good eye got bad numbers and bad eye got better numbers, basically switched. So I immediately called back trying to cancel the glasses, customer support girl told me the cancelation need to go through owner approval. Same evening I got a call from them asked me to revisit the clinic to redo eye exam once more. I agreed and made appointment next morning. Till here as you can see I was willing to resolve the issue without cancelling the order. On next morning when I visit the clinic, the same employee was not there and she did not leave any note on my file, so I had to go through 2 employees describing my issues. And unfortunately one of the employee said its not big issue its only 0.25 difference which triggered me not to get service there, even slightest change make things different on eye prescription. I asked them to cancel my order and return my payments, they had to go owner's permission and call me back. The owner called me back. sure employees told her different story, and she was claiming the prescription is right because they have the best equipment's and doctors over there. I told her my story and telling her I am not arguing about the quality of their equipments, the issue is employee's attitude and the way how they handling customer issues. Finally she got what I mean and agreed to return my payment. As they already filed over thousand dollar claim to my insurance provider I can not get service and glasses from other places, so I asked her to cancel the insurance claim also, things start heated up after that, she simply refusing and saying she does not know how to cancel it! Its strange, they work with insurance companies and don't know how to cancel claim? At the end of our long phone call I told her that I will post Yelp review about the situation, however she told me if I post bad reviews she will not return my money, we have that in our Terms? Till this conversation I had no idea what was the terms, I never get presented any term document and signed any either. I told her it is blackmailing its against law, for me I just needed my payment back and told her I will not post any review just return my money, she said after I return, you will post reviews anyways, do you? and told me do what ever you want and hung up. I waited a week after that if she return my payment, it did not happen so I contacted my credit card company to make dispute, it took about 2 months the dispute cleared up. First time here and definitely not my last. Eye exam was thorough and they utilizing the latest technology to conduct my exam...from beginning to end. The atmosphere was very welcoming, clean and inviting with all COVID precautions in place. The selection of frames is extensive ranging from low to high (hello Chanel!) to fit your budget and still look good! Highly recommend JoAnn Aguilar to help you with your frame selection and paperwork. She is knowledgeable and fashionable...both eye glass frames (I needed to different types of glasses) that she helped me select look fabulous and met my vision needs perfectly in addition to my contact lens order. There were several problems that jumped out at me right away: 1. There is a check-in process using an iPad that requires you to consent to an exam that is not covered by most insurance, but if you hit the "do not consent" option you can't sign in. I explained that I wasn't about to opt in to something that had very little info, and was told to just hit the "consent" button. If they don't need you to sign in, why do this? It seems like a scummy way to get more fees by relying on people to just hit the "consent" option. Note on this: There was no way to back out or delete my info when I hit the "do not consent" option. When I raised that concern with the staff, I was told to just leave it on the screen. Since I couldn't back out, it may not have been an issue, but it still felt iffy. Only when I brought up how insecure that was did she force close the app on the iPad. 2. I couldn't believe all the HIPAA violations that are happening here. I was left in an exam room with an unlocked computer that had patient names and eye images on the desktop. Their system that pulls up patient records showed all the patient names in plain sight and I could read them from the exam chair. My exam printouts (full name, address, phone, email, insurance info, exam results, etc.) were left on a table for anyone to see while I was trying on frames. 3. The doctor instructed the salesperson to show me frames that were 100% covered, but the first 2 brands she showed me were not totally covered and there would be out-of-pocket costs. When I raised that concern, even the next brand still wasn't totally covered ("But you only would need to pay $20 out of pocket for these" was what I was told). I was actually ok with paying for better quality or brand name frames, but wanted to see the fully covered options so I could make an educated decision. 4. This is the most casual "doctor's office" I've ever seen. The floors are all concrete and carry sounds of private conversations. It feels more like a shop in the mall than a professional doctor setting. 5. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment, but they were running very late and I only was seen about 30 minutes into my appointment time. I under that things can run late, but they had all my info and could have sent me a message. For a shop that is all about technology, this seems like a very simple problem to overcome. On the positive side, the staff was really nice and courteous. As a storefront, the place is very welcoming. They had pop music playing and offered snacks and water several times, making sure I was comfortable during the wait. It's too bad that the other issues are so awful, but I won't be coming back. read more

Work at Apple and was getting headaches from my monitor. Things just felt blurry but so slightly. Called eyexam and got to go in the next day. It was super cool and fast. Did 3 stations in the eye exam which were kinda like a game. Took maybe 5 minutes. Then they told me I did need glasses and explained it all to me. They helped me choose and order a pair and just really convenient. It was really nice to feel like it was a local place. The owner is the doctor and everyone was really nice. I live near by and it was cool it was just a local eye place with all the cool new eye exam equipment and not some large chain thing. Highly recommend. It's so easy! read more

I just tried to make an appointment for my family. Going back and forth trying to figure out a day that would work for us was a task. I tried to secure the time and the lady said they don't take more than two family members on the same day. Apparently, it's protocol. If you're trying to bring a family in to get your eyes checked, be prepared to make multiple visits. Dr Schwartz performed a detailed eye exam for both eye glasses as well as first time contact lenses and was able to point that my new prescription will be milder than before. He worked patiently with me in arriving at the right prescription contacts. The staff JoAnn, Jonalyn, Norma, Lovely, Sarah will work with you to find the right fit for the right pair of contacts or your glasses. I opted to go with both dailies and bi weekly contacts and then I wanted a specific Nike and Oakley frame with premium polycarbonate lenses, AR coating, transitions and they worked with me to minimize my financial out of pocket burden.
