Had my eye exam and ordered glasses and sunglasses and received prescription for contacts…read more When the glasses came in I had to return both pairs instant headache. I decided to take the prescription else where, ordered glasses and had to return them. Whet back to my old glasses until I can get things sorted out. Not really thinking about it I ordered contacts because I was running out. Yep the one eye is way off. In comparison to my last prescription it's a huge leap and I couldn't read anything with it in my eye. Thinking it could have been possibly a typo I called to see if it could be double checked, had to leave a message. Nearly a week went by I called again and got someone that didn't normally work in that office and she would take a message that the Dr was only in one day a week?? Whatever, I waited for that day to come and go and still no return call. Today is 3 weeks. DO NOT GO TO THIS Dr. The employees out front that actually work for Lens Crafters were awesome. The Dr. Is a separate business within Lens Crafters.

I hadn't had an eye exam for 3 years so I made an appointment for 12:00 on a Monday at Lenscrafters…read morein the Eastwood Mall. The week before, I got two phone calls and multiple emails to remind me of my appointment. I arrived 10 minutes early because I believe its rude to keep people waiting. The woman at the receptionist at the back of the store had pink hair, a stud through her nose and multiple bad tattoos on her arms. She was texting on her phone when I walked up and I had to wait for about ten seconds while she completed her text and then she deigned to do her job and finally looked up at me. No greeting, mind you. She just looked up at me expectantly with an annoyed expression. After the paperwork was filled out, she inquired if I "wanted my eyes dilated." I replied, "not really, but of the Doctor needs to dilate them to do a thorough exam, then that's fine." This evoked another annoyed look and the remark that I "needed to sign a consent form first." I told her I would prefer to discuss with the Doctor. Maybe it's just me, but I don't believe it's a good idea to take advice about chemicals to be placed in my eyes from someone whose professional judgment is evidenced by prior decisions to dye her hair pink, drive a spike through the middle of her nose and select numerous bad tattoos to decorate her arms. I was then placed in small, dark examination room for 45 minutes to wait for the Doctor. Keep in mind that there is no cell service at this location, so I couldn't even occupy the time with my phone. Finally, I walked out. The back of this Lenscrafters store (the Eye Exam part) is not a professionally run operation and anybody that would trust their eyes to these people is not very smart (like the kind of people that might decide it's a good idea to drive a spike through their nose). Please note, however, that during this episode, my wife was waiting for me in the front of the store looking at glasses and she said the people at the front of the store universally appeared to be professional, courteous and very helpful to customers. So, if you decide to get glasses or contacts here, you really want to go with your prescription in hand and avoid the back of this store like you would the diarrhea ward in Calcutta.
