The staff is extremely pushy and doesn't listen to the patient when I say I don't want the air in my eyes and I respectfully refuse, the First Lady who did the basic tests tried to push for it again. When I do not have issues and other things. That was fault 1. The doctor on site, is really aggressive on pushing for dilation and that test. And made me feel very belittled because I refused a test at my own will! "Well we have to educate you", educating is one thing but belittling is what they did. I wouldn't also trust my kids or my girls around this doctor by themselves, he is very pushy and weird. When looking at my eyes he was touching my face, no other eye doctor has EVER touched my face EVER! Thankfully I had someone with me, this man was weird. He also was belittling other doctors that I seen, who were MDs rather than ODs, and saying they couldn't never do the treatment over electrically even though my prescription from those doctors were beyond great! And then also told me that I was uneducated about my eyes when I've always been told the same thing by many of doctors about my eyes the same thing. As a doctor you shouldn't be letting your colleges in the same field it's unprofessional and disgusting of an attitude. Then when we were checking out, he was out there speaking with one of the lady's and left a sweat stain in the chair. You could see his privates. That's absolutely a disgusting thing for me. I ordered glasses 2 weeks ago I called after waiting the two weeks they said it would take. The lady on the phone said they were there I could pick them up in 10 minutes. So I drive there and as I'm turning on to the lot they call and say they messed up A lens ok do they say they are going to rush a replacement NO they say 7 to 14 days. My kids and I were treated kindly at Walmart optical the same day. I purchased two pair of trifocals plus an exam. My $760 went to them instead. It's been years since I've been to Eyeglass World. I'm not sure why I strayed because I don't think I've ever had an issue with them previously. I believe the last time I went to them it was in the days before I knew of Yelp so I can see that I don't have a previous review listed here. I just decided to try another establishment or two in the meantime just because. I went again to Eyeglass world recently and I had beyond great service. I was greeted at the door by a very friendly and accommodating representative. They have a more than an ample inventory of frames to choose from at all price points. He told me about their Covid protocol and assisted me in every way. He guided me through the process and helped me pick my glasses by also helping make a decision in giving me his valued opinion. He explained everything in detail to me, (was very knowledgeable), and he wasn't pushing me to upgrade and spend more than I really wanted. The whole process was amazingly quick and efficient. I was in and out of there easily within an hour. My glasses were ready in less time than he predicted too. I will definitely go back in the future. read more

I rarely leave a bad review, I like to be positive about life but this place is just awful. The first time I came in, I wasn't greeted and stood around a while, 10-15 mins waiting for someone to come to the desk and check me in for my appointment. I finally was checked in and sat there another 45 because they forgot about me. I shrugged it off, off day, whatever. I tried to order my contacts over the phone and they said I had to come in with my insurance card so I did. I felt bad for the lady helping me because she had no idea what she was doing and told me I wasn't in the system. Finally someone came in and helped her figure it out but they told me I had to go home and call my insurance company to figure out what the issue was, even though I used it there already. All of that took about an hour 25. Came back another time to get my contacts and got home and they were the wrong prescription. I took them back and they tried to talk me into a cheaper brand for a trade in. What?? I dread calling here for anything because they're usually rude or short with me on the phone. I feel bad for the Dr because he was actually really good. I don't want anything and I don't want to talk to corporate about it I just want to warn other people what they may get for coming here. You're going to waste a LOT of time, get the wrong stuff, and be treated poorly by people who don't seem to care about much. I have been using Eyeglass World for several years for progressive bifocals with transitional lenses. I have never had a bad experience. Customer service has always been friendly and knowledgeable. I sometimes get a quote from LensCrafter, but they are always significantly higher. read more

Really wish they would stop advertising same day glasses everywhere if they can't do that. I have a very simple prescription but of course they didn't have both lenses I needed. Was told would be ready in two to three days which wasn't ideal but what could I do. Now they're saying just a few more days. I only went there because of the same day thing. Eye exams are 70 dollars and are free at americas best and other places. Could have saved myself money if I knew I was going to be waiting anyway. The current glasses I have are worn out and are ripping my hair out. I really can't be waiting any longer but that do they care. Lol read more

This place gets a 1 Star because: 1. We walked in and were barely greeted. 2. After stating the reason for our visit, were ignored for the next 4-5 minutes while the lady was on her computer. 3. Were told that glasses would be held until the next week and given to a sales rep to hold (which didn't happen). 4. When they couldn't find the glasses, the sales reps just walked off and didn't help any more. 5. Nobody apologized for the situation or asked if they could help us find the glasses on the floor. 6. I scheduled an appointment last year, for this year. I received a confirmation email over 2 weeks ago. They had an incorrect phone number on file, so when they messaged the owner of the number requested to stop receiving messages. I drove 30 minutes only to find they had canceled my appointment. When I asked why they didn't email me instead, I was advised "we don't do emails". I was told I was welcome to wait, but they didn't know when or if I would be seen. Made an appt for 5:30, three days ahead, at the US 31 Greenwood store, on day of appt, realized I could get off work early, so called to see if i could come in early to avoid traffic, was told it, shouldn't be a problem as long as it was after 3pm, i got there at 4 pm, with 1 person in line, the receptionist then told me it was unlikely i would be seen before 5:30, i sat for 20 minutes, no one but me in waiting room, no one speaks to me, the desk was left unattended, so there is no one to even speak to, so, i searched yelp, and realized that the 2 star rating was an omen, and I made an appt. with another nearby Optician while standing in the store. There doesn't seem to be much interest, by the staff, to make a profit for Eyeglass World, when I walked over to a random staff member, and said To cancel my appt, I'll just go somewhere else, she responded, "Oh, Okay". I have High Option Aetna Eye insurance, I imagine they lost between $500-800 letting me just walk. read more

I seriously can not say enough good about this store and its staff. I first took my kiddo there last year and advised staff that my kiddo has autism. They went above and beyond to make sure my child felt safe and welcomed. They also never made a deal about the frequent use of the warranty since one of my child's tics is chewing and twirling their glasses. Just the ultimate in customer service and compassion. Fast forward to today. My kiddo came out as nonbinary since their last appointment. This store and its staff again went above and beyond to make sure it was notated throughout the chart/file/what have you of the preferred name now and the preferred pronouns. They were so accommodating and so willing to make this next visit as wonderful as all the others. The store is always clean, the staff is always friendly and warm. Trying to fig out why this location has such bad reviews. I have been going to Eyeglass World in Greenwood for the past 3 years. I have never ever had one bad experience. I don't have any vision insurance and I joined the eye care club. This has been extremely helpful and adorable for saving money on my contacts, glasses and who doesn't want free exams? The staff has always been very welcoming and nice. I have always felt like Eyeglass World has been a professional place. The eye doctor is great! She is very friendly and listens to my concerns. The checkout process is fast and easy. Like I said, I honestly don't have one negative thing to say about Eyeglass World. See for yourself! What a joke !! They lie about everything to get you in, then tell you can't have what you want!! Then charge you extra for the eye exam !!

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE! My wife went there for her eye exam. She had some irritation. She had a hard time seeing the eye chart. The dr made her guess the letters to get through it! Then, instead of trying to figure out why she was having problems, the doctor just told her to come back in two weeks and never gave her a prescription for new lenses/glasses BUT sent in an insurance claim to get paid for nothing. When I try to call back to see if she could offer a script to stop the irritation, she was so grouchy when she left a message. So, my wife went to Walmart Optical on 7245 U.S. 31 Indianapolis IN, and he figured out instantly that she had a scratch on her eye and gave a free prescription to heal it AND gave her a glasses/lenses script. My insurance called Eyeglass World about this, but they would not offer a refund. Just can not believe such incompetence. I would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

Excellent service, great selection. They took the time to see if my insurance or if buying the glasses under their own discounts would be cheaper. The protection plan is fabulous. I went in several times in one year to replace my son's glasses. They walked over and got a new set of frames, changed the lenses, and we had them that same day. I'm very happy with their service. I recently took my mom here the other day to get a pair of glasses and they were giving out generic gigando (I think that's how you spell it) glass cases. I purchased 2 pair of glasses, one was free. I had scratching on my lenses and they didn't honor the warranty. Said it was a year and 1 day since my exam so that voided the warranty. Buyer beware. Very expensive and lenses are prone to light scratches. read more

I've shopped here twice now and both times my insurance portion had been misfigured in excess of $100. The customer service dept has never returned a phone call or replied to an email about these billing concerns. I was assured by the location that things were figured correctly this time and wouldn't get an additional billing but no. I had an eye appointment at 11:15am on 9-29-18..that went well. Next to find frames and sit with an associate. The associate was very new and kind but it took 2.5 hours to get the job done. She iv=nadvertantly erased my order(over$1100.00) and we had to wait for another associate to help her. I finally was told the order was complete and my new glasses would be in about 5-7 business days and I would get a call. Today is 10-12-18..I called to see if they were in and was put on hold for 11.5 minutes. I hung up and called back. Sarah answered the phone and I asked her if she was the manager she said she was one of them. I explained what happened and she put me on hold to check on the status of my glasses. She came on the line said yes they were there. I asked her when did they come in..she put me back on hold for 4 minutes and then told me they came in on 10-4-18. WHAT!!! She tried to tell me that they have an automated system that calls and informs customers that their glasses are in but that it had been experiencing problems lately. I said so my glasses have been in a drawer since 10-4-18 it is now the 12th and no one has reached out to me to let me know they were in? She said yes that is right. I asked where were the checks and balances of management to oversee their processes so that the notification was given to me when my glasses came in. She responded that there weren't any. WOW!! I don't know about anyone else but I feel this is probably the worst location and management I have ever dealt with. I have been in retail management for over 34 years..customer service is a priority in todays competitive world for the customer dollar. SARAH you are in the wrong business!! And shame on the rest of management at the GREENWOOD location for not doing follow-up on the customers orders!! My last rant??
