I made an appointment with LUX Eye Care for September 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM and specifically told…read morethem that I have Medicare. I asked if they accepted it and was told yes. I even provided a copy of my insurance card beforehand. After I arrived, the nurse took my information and told me the doctor would be in shortly. When the doctor entered the room, before I could even properly greet him, he immediately asked, "Do you have any other insurance besides Medicare?" His tone was extremely rude and dismissive. He then told me they did not accept my insurance, despite what I had been told when I made the appointment. If they don't accept someone's insurance, that should be made clear before the patient comes to the office. More importantly, patients deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. I was so disappointed by the way I was treated that I simply left. I will not be returning to LUX Eye Care, and I strongly recommend verifying everything about your insurance before making the trip.

I've been very pleased with the dental work delivered by this practice but am unbelievably…read moredisappointed with the office billing personnel. On all of my visits, they require the patient to pay their higher Usual and Customary Fees as opposed to their contractually obligated in-network PPO fees. Refunds are made down the line to square the account but in the interim, the patient has forked over significantly higher dollar amounts. Why should the patients serve as their bank? I pushed back on this practice and was met with arrogance, smugness and general ugliness. The billing personnel clearly did not display any interest in understanding how the in-network PPO reimbursement worked. They even threatened to withhold treatment until I acquiesced to their higher fee payment request. It's a shameful way to treat patients and a black eye for such talented dentists and hygienists.

They stated that they had not yet shipped the item despite the email I had received, and that I could pick up the item. When I arrived, their shipping manager apologized and stated they had miscommunications between themselves. They did not charge my card for the shipping fee. I have purchased several items since this time and after further experiences can say that their customer service has greatly improved. Their shipping manager has communicated effectively and the staff there has been very pleasant and helpful. I even had an incident where I got ANOTHER flat tire after leaving the pickup location and my phone was not working properly. Due to the location, I could not call; I could only text. I texted the shipping manager asking if they could call AAA for me and they did. I appreciate their attentiveness and I am continuing to scope out their auctions for items. As a previous poster stated, they are honest about any defects present and will often take a close-up photo of the area. You can also contact them directly to discuss any questions you have about an item. The pickup location is different for each auction. So, you must pay very careful attention when bidding to ensure the location is not too far. I accidentally did that once and contacted them about my $5 purchase telling them I was willing to donate the items instead of driving that far to pick up the small purchase. They handled this with me well. I was very pleased to get a pretty painting for my hallway at a great price. I've purchased several vases and one red vase adorned my Christmas table. I'm impressed the owner has taken notice and cares to resolve any issues within the business. They have even added text and email reminders the day an auction closes to remind you in case you wish to bid on items. I continue to receive texts the next day reminding me of my purchase and all of this has been extremely helpful. Great job to the business owner to identify the root cause of the problem and in implementing solutions that work.
