He has eye med through the company he works for . I spoke to rude receptionist. I then called back on Monday to speak to office manager I was not allowed to by same ride receptionist. They keep on saying no coverage cause he is diabetic. I looked eye med says nothing about that . Plus they never asked his policy number so how do they know if they don't check . I had told them my insurance information well in advance, and offered to email them a copy of my insurance card to make sure it was covered. They declined, and didn't tell me there was an issue until I went in for my appointment. When I first arrived, they told me I only had a copay. It was not until I was driving home that they called to tell me I had to pay $150 for the appointment. I would have canceled the appointment if I had known there was a problem with my insurance! They didn't give me a chance, and left me with a huge bill, and the feeling of being taken advantage of.

This review is about to sound very disorganized, because the situation was chaotic. My doctor, Dr…read more Cook, moved to this location from the 280 LensCrafters. I have always had a wonderful experience with him & his team at that location. I called the 280 store trying to order new contacts & to get a sample pair. I was told he's at the Galleria location on Saturdays, so I went the following Saturday. I was then told that he wasn't there, & I should come back the next Saturday. I came back the NEXT Saturday, he wasn't there & they told me I would have to contact his new office. Mind you, I was going out of town that weekend & expecting to get new contacts this day. I get the Tuscaloosa store information, & they tell me to call on Tuesday when Dr.Cook will be there. I call on Tuesday, the desk woman tells me they don't have my information, but says Dr.Cook will email me my prescription. I let it be known that I have been trying to get this done for weeks & I am going out of town that Thursday. I even offered to drive from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa if it meant I could get some contacts that day (Tuesday). I was told that couldn't happen. After I express NICELY I need these sample contacts TODAY after jumping from place to place for WEEKS, the front desk woman hangs up on me. I did not once raise my voice or have a nasty tone, all I did was express that this has been extremely difficult & I would like for this to be solved today. I have absolutely no problems with Dr.Cook himself & have always had a great experience, none of this review is directed at him or the great quality of work he does. As a person who's been in customer service for over 8 years, when someone representing a business hangs up a phone on a customer for no reason other than not wanting to fix an obvious mistake, they should not be in customer service. Anyway, I was told Wednesday my prescription would be sent to the Galleria location, it wasn't. After ALL THIS, on THURSDAY, the day I leave for my trip, I get a call saying the Galleria has received my prescription, but it's expired (by a few months) & I would have to get another eye exam before getting contacts. I don't think I've ever experienced such horrible misinformation in my life. Weeks of trying to simply order contacts for NOTHING. Don't waste your time here, they have zero clue what they are doing. I'm leaving this review for both the Tuscaloosa & Galleria location, because they really joined forces to make sure that I had the worst experience possible.
