There was a bit of a wait when I arrived, so I grabbed something to eat and came back a little later. When I returned, I only had to wait a few more minutes. Overall, I think the service was fair for the $8 price point. There were a couple of things that affected my experience. I was next in line, but another customer approached, and I heard Rani reassure them, "Just two minutes." While I understand wanting to acknowledge waiting customers, it made me worry that my appointment was going to be rushed. Personally, I'd rather wait a few extra minutes if it means the person providing my service can take their time and focus on the client they're currently with. During the threading, the thread snapped several times. At one point, it snapped hard enough that it went inside of my closed eye. I know accidents happen, and I wasn't upset about the mistake itself, but it did make the experience uncomfortable. Slowing down a bit could help make the service feel smoother and more relaxing. That said, I want to give credit where it's due. Rani was very detail-oriented when it came to shaping my eyebrows. She took the time to make sure they were even, well-groomed, and nicely trimmed. Right after my appointment, I wasn't sure how I felt about the final result. Now that a couple of days have passed, I've actually grown to really like them. Looking back, I appreciate how clean and polished my eyebrows look. Overall, I'd describe my experience as mixed. The actual quality of the eyebrow shaping was very good, but the threading experience itself left me a little uneasy. I'm still undecided about whether I'll return, but I can definitely say that Rani does nice work when it comes to shaping brows.

For starters im exteremely loyal to my current salon which isn't far from here - but i've noticed more and more wait times, and less attention to detail so i deceided to start the search for other options. Needless to say I cant wait to go back. The space is so much larger once you enter - they have a team of about 14-16? So they had a very short wait. The technician that did my nails did a beautiful job and asked me for photo references and executed them perfectly. I was in and out in about an hour. I will be back. Xoxo.

My story is that my hair is hard to cut: very straight with cow licks all over the place. Plus that, I'm a complete perfectionist. When I first moved to Dallas 26 years ago, there was a lovely old guy at Neiman Marcus who charged me $40 for a fantastic cut. This spoiled me. When he retired, I discovered that hair cuts were a lot more expensive than that, and they weren't always very good. I tried Supercuts, and there was one woman who gave me a decent enough cut, but one that needed styling, if you know what I mean. Then I found a fancy shmancy guy in Dallas do did do an excellent cut, but the cost was prohibitive -- not just for my budget, but for my conscience. Sorry. If I could afford that much for a hair cut, it should be going to charity anyhow. So what to do? I looked up Jon David Salon in Irving, and the woman making appointments recommended Albert. Are you SURE? I asked. My hair is a problem. Yes, she replied. Albert is really really good and he loves doing bobs. The price was moderate -- triple SuperCuts, but not as much as fancy schmancy Dallas places (and I don't like the vibe of those places, anyhow). So although I still have to spread out the appointments more than my hair would like, the cut is so good that it doesn't matter. Albert spent a LOT of time on my hair, and he was really precise. He was totally open to my suggestions (sorry! can't help myself!). He was responsive and honest and, most of all, an expert at what he does. Also he's a really good person. The salon itself is beautiful -- tasteful, not tacky. The vibe is really relaxing and upscale, but not chi-chi-pretentious. I would say more "European." The free parking is convenient in the garage right across the road (a big plus!) and they always ask me if I want something to drink, but I haven't yet had anything because I just want to focus on the hair. Anyhow, everyone is SO friendly and real there -- really a treat to go to! So: thank you, Jon David Salon in Las Colinas! Please do not change ANYTHING. Five stars as is! (And Albert gets ten).
