I guess when we pulled off the highway, we didn't realize that Paris has a nice, new, chain-y part of town. There's a freakin' convenience store with a Denny's in it on the other side of town. But we ended up over here, and we were able to get gas. The ladies' room was probably more like a broad's room, but that's okay. It wasn't too bad. The clerks were nice. I bought a large number of Hershey bars (for s'mores) and they didn't once look at me askance. In fact, this is that particular brand of small town friendly where the clerk made me seem silly for digging around in my pocketbook for a penny. He assured me he could cover it. We were lucky enough to get what ranch dressing the FIFA World Cup fans left behind (Just kidding!) and it was very tasty with the french fries and onion rings. The onion rings were covered in what appeared to be a beer batter and were fried crispy and brown. The french fries still had the peel on and I love them made that way. Our burgers were absolutely exceptional! We try to visit burger places as we can because we want to know where to get the best burger. I appreciated the crispiness of the bacon and the juiciness of the burger. Everything was very good. I noticed that they had homemade peanut and pecan brittles on a little stand inside. Yeah.....a week later, those have disappeared!!!!!! Excellent and perfectly thin and crispy. There was also an area with fresh vegetables and they had HUGE elephant garlic. Good place for locals to pick up some fresh vegetables. The two ladies working were very accomodating and friendly. There are VERY FEW places to stop on this route. Fries were atypically (for fast food) scrumptious... Fast service. 1st visit bought Copenhagen, competitively priced w/ city stores. Drive by there often w/ Dad on afternoon drives. They've cleaned up the property. The new owner/manager said her Mom had owned this store about 12 yrs before. She was excited about re-opening the store. If you're headed through Novice in the near future, I encourage you to shop, get take out, & become a customer/diner at the Novice Store. Good luck guys !
