I won't bother going into the prices ($2.78 for one 20oz bottle of soda) or even factor it into the review since it's not their fault and the markups are expected - - I can certainly accept that. What I cannot accept is employees who are not customer service oriented, unprofessional, unfriendly, and not willing to do what it takes to ensure an efficient and quality experience. If you're looking to buy something quickly on the run before you make your connecting flight, don't bother to stop here because the employees work at their own leisure and pace - even with the manager present. I walk in and see 6-7 people in line waiting to make a purchase. There are 3 Registers and minimum of 5-6 total employees (wow, seems overstaffed). At first glance 2 of the Registers were processing customers while the 3rd was occupied by an employee processing paperwork. I pick up my soda (Coke Cherry Zero - - the highlight of the experience) and stand patiently in line, now Customer # 6 in queue. Okay, I'll be patient. One of the employees ringing up customers then stops her work and turns around to help another employee who is asking questions and looking for something (a "book"). The 2nd register employee slows down her work to engage into the discussion for assistance. The other 2 employees then walk away to go retrieve the book leaving 1 register open with a (now) queue of 10 people waiting in line. Meanwhile the manager (I believe - male authority figure) is standing next to the register and is watching her process orders, plus the other register is still processing paperwork. There is also another employee standing nearby and starts talking with the other two who are looking for "the book". The Math: Out of 6 total employees 3 of them are standing around chit-chatting while 1 authority figure is observing and the other 2 are doing work where only one of those two is actually ringing up customers. The queue is now @ 10 and I'm # 5. Yay!! There is no sense of priority or urgency in processing customers in a timely and efficient manner. A few minutes later I move up to #2, and even though I'm next in line the manager proceeds to point to the girl behind me (#3) saying they will be able to ring her up on the other side (register now open - she finished her work). The girl behind me then looks at me and says "you're next in line so I'll wait after you....". Cool beans - - thank you. She (customer) was more cognisant than all of the 6 employees combined. I nearly put my drink down and walked off - - why should I even give this establishment my $$ and support when they don't seem to give a rats behind about quality customer service. If it wasn't for that damn hot sauce I just had w/ my meal I would have done it - - I swear! But a nice cold Coke Cherry Zero sounded so damn good at the time - - it was a thirst quencher, still not worth $2.78 but that's a whole other story. Like I said - - if you're in a hurry or really dislike waiting too long in lines, or don't care for low morale or poor customer service and execution then don't bother to stop in here. Lesson's Learned = don't do anything that would provoke you to having the need to buy something here (i.e. the need to quench your burning throat w/ a cold beverage due to excess consumption of hot sauce). Toodles!!

You are going to stock up on airport sundries anyway, so spend your money at Valerie's shop and just *try* not to leave in a happier mood. The parking lot is super clean with ample parking locations in case you don't need gas. Upon walking in the location is Ty clean as well. The floors, stalls, and sink area were clean and there wasn't the lingering smell of "rest stop restroom" odor. Lastly, I decided on McDonalds for my food break. Walking over from the store side I was able to see Subway, which was also super clean. At the time of writing this review, this is the last QT you'll come across on the stretch of I-85 in between Charlotte and the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem). If you're headed towards Charlotte from the Triad, it's the first QT you'll come across. Living in Atlanta the past 20 years, I've become a big fan of QT because their gas stations are typically big, thoughtfully laid out, brightly lit, relatively clean, and easy to navigate with plenty of pumps, parking spaces, and competitive fuel prices. Their convenience stores are also clean in addition to being well-stocked with hot-and-ready and made-to-order food and drink. The stores usually have plenty of adequately-trained and uniformed staff who are polite. In short, QTs beat your run-of-the-mill gas stations and convenience stores, many of which can be shoddy. Consider yourself lucky if you have them in your area. This QT on Lane Street is no exception. It's got 20 pumps for cars plus a separate fueling and parking area and store for semi-tractor-trailer trucks (not all QTs are truck stops like this one). I stopped by this QT on my way back to Atlanta from High Point to fill up and use the restroom. It was easy for me to find an open pump; it was clean, in good condition, and worked well; and the restroom was clean enough. If South Carolina is part of your route, then you should fill up at one of the many QTs along I-85 in South Carolina, if you can, because gas in South Carolina is cheaper. Check out my "Carolinas I-85 Corridor" collection on Yelp for a mostly comprehensive listing of QTs and other gas stations along I-85 in between Atlanta and the Triad here: https://www.yelp.com/collection/Ey266j_8lAHk7iQLDODC9g. Unlike regional truck stop competitors such as Love's Travel Stops and Pilot Travel Centers, QTs are not as big. They do not sell products other than refreshments (mainly) and they do not have interior seating nor fast food restaurant chains like Dairy Queen, McDonald's, and Wendy's attached. QTs do, however, have limited outdoor seating. This one has a handful of umbrella-covered tables outside the store.

Reason I ended up at this location is because I was redirected to pick up my u-haul 6x12 trailer here. I originally had set to pick it up at one of the mail branch u-haul, as I always had a bad experience at the "linked" stores. So, I was a bit annoyed that I got a notification less than 24hrs before pick-up to go here. Sure enough, it was a mess. Granted it was a new store location and apparently I was the second customer for a u-haul. great.......I was patient, spent a whole hour here for a pick-up. I had to provide my vehicle specs and DL information AGAIN, even though I had filled it up online and he even read it to me to verify that I was the correct person to pick it up. Their internet connection did not work, so I had to do it on my phone. User errors on their personal phones or connection issues. The clerk had to call uhaul help line twice to advise on steps (Ok, i'm the second customer, I get it, but MY phone? weird). Anyways, don't get a U-haul here. Otherwise, it's a clean place with the basic selection on sodas and snacks. Oddly, no coke products.
