Ample bathroom stalls with availability lights like convention center garages. Repeating walls of…read morebeef jerky and beaver nuggets. A million souvenirs including logo swim trunks. Brisket and other sandwiches, and little plastic cups of banana pudding. You're at an overstimulating traffic stop whose soda fountain sizes are large and extra large. This is the first Buc-ee's off I-95 and the crowds are crazy, but at least you can park your RV. Though posted signs say trucks and trailers are not allowed, you do have diesel in that extreme fuel island. The staff were kind and went out of their way restocking brisket sandwiches and other goods without elbowing through the demanding crowd. Ample parking, ample bathrooms, cold drinks, and fuel, fuel, fuel. Don't expect peace, but all the amenities are here.

So many unique things here at Buc-ee's. I wanted to love it and for the most part I did. The store…read moreitself was awesome. It's a great tourist attraction. We did try some of the food the brisket sandwich was good it was just missing some tangy coleslaw. Bought 3 chicken boxes with fries and it was so expensive and soooooo salty. The tenders were not great and the fries were like douched in salt. For $60 without gas it was mediocre at best. I'll be stopping by the Daytona Beach location soon but I won't try the food. Seems like food places nowadays do not believe in holding back the salt. Which is so disappointing and a waste of money most times. I enjoy all the decor and merchandise. I will definitely be back for a souvenir but that's about it. Last thing! Homemade at the store tortilla Wowzer that was a huge highlight!!!!

It was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon this QuikTrip in Dillon, South Carolina. It wasn't here…read morethe last time we traveled through South Carolina via I-95, to get between North Carolina and Georgia. This QT is still relatively new. It opened on June 15, 2023: https://www.cstoredive.com/news/quiktrip-grows-travel-center-concept-in-south-carolina/653478/ I made sure to stop here both ways on this trip. As has been well documented in my Yelp reviews over the past 10-15 years, I'm a fan of QT. I was happy with all the growth QT had along I-85, in the western part of South Carolina, in the early 2010s: https://www.yelp.com/collection/Ey266j_8lAHk7iQLDODC9g Unfortunately, QT isn't there yet with I-95, which is closer to and runs down roughly the eastern part of the state. In SC, I-95 (199 miles) is a lot longer than I-85 (106 miles). Anyway, this QT is a nice start. This QT is located just off I-95 exit 190 (SC 34 - Dillon) in the Pee Dee region of northeastern South Carolina. It's close to the North Carolina border. Another good option for gas, refreshments, and restrooms at this exit is the Love's Travel Stop on the other side of the interstate: https://www.yelp.com/biz/loves-travel-stop-dillon?hrid=UnW3W3KM5C74VC_jGbJGnA&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) This QT has everything I like about most newer QT locations. It's big and spacious, inside and out (20 pumps), clean, feels safe, is always stocked with paper towels at the pumps, and has competitive gas prices and polite, friendly customer service. QT describes this location as a "Remote Travel Center," which is the first I've seen since they rolled out the "Generation 3" or "Gen 3" stores over the last decade-plus. To me, this is simply a bigger Gen 3 store on a bigger lot. According to a Convenience Store News article in April 2022 ( https://csnews.com/photo-gallery-inside-quiktrips-new-remote-travel-centers ), QT's Remote Travel Centers have a "larger store format" that "targets geographies with strong truck traffic." This location has five diesel pumps for semi-trailer trucks, but it's not a full-fledged QT truck stop like others I've seen (e.g., Gaffney, SC). Like conventional QTs, this one has a QT Kitchens with fresh, made-to-order food and drink, except it's "expanded." This is QuikTrip store #7133.

Fantastic new LARGE QuikTrip right off I-95 going north from SC to NC. Perfect location for long…read moreroad trips w multiple stops. Great place to grab gas (lowest price before going out of state) and snacks before crossing into NC. Clean bathrooms, lots of welcoming staff and a whole brewing station just for tea! So many fruit flavors. Unfortunately it wasn't working today but I grabbed a **crushed ice*** massive Diet Dew (on tap, thank you) instead. This will be our go to place every summer on these massive family road trips.
