Making me over reach for the tickets at the edge of the counter. There seems to be no common courtesy or respect for the customer here. A severe lack of professionalism. Five Star Towing Company gets 1 Star rating after leaving a family stranded on I35…read more Our experience with 5 Start Towing was absolutely abysmal. My son stopped for fuel at a Carrollton gas station, and his truck would not start after fueling. Our auto insurance provides roadside assistance, so he called-in the request. I went to the gas station to pick up my son and wait for the tow truck. We had notification from SafeCo that the tow truck was en route. The SafeCo message included a timer that indicated the tow truck's progress to our location. When the SafeCo timer showed 18 minutes, my son got a call from the driver, who explained that he was "just leaving and would be there in 30 minutes." We knew this was an approximate ETA. About 40 minutes after the call, we called the driver, but got no answer. We tried a few more times with the same result. Finally, we made a desperate call back to SafeCo. The SafeCo agent asked me to hold while he tried the driver, and came back shortly to explain that he too was not getting an answer. So, we stared All OVER. About an hour later, a truck from Chavez Towing arrived and transported my son's pickup to the garage. I couldn't be happier with the service from Chavez will be giving Chavez glowingly positive ratings today that Chavez much deserves. But for now... back to 5 Star Towing Company. We spent hours sitting on I35 waiting for the 5 Star Towing Driver to show up. He never did. However, it's a big city with lots a traffic, etc... so you give a driver benefit of doubt. However, the driver's no-show coupled with not simply answering multiple calls from my son and me is inexcusable. I've talked and texted with the driver today and made him aware of my feelings and used language that would not make my mother proud. What I thought I might hear from the driver or someone at 5 Star Towing is "I'm sorry" or "We're sorry". Instead, I got a laundry list of excuses. Here they are... #1: "I was with an old lady" - Yep, he said it. Driver said that he couldn't pick up the phone because he was with an old lady. He may have been helping an older woman, and that's great, but that kept him from answering calls from a customer that he knew was waiting?? Why not just answer and explain what's going on? That would have allowed us to call SafeCo back sooner and resolve the matter sooner. #2: "My phone never rang" - I sat in car and watched my son dial him twice and heard the driver's voice mail. I called him three times from my phone, and it went to voice mail all three times. SafeCo representative also calls him and it goes to voice mail. #3: The SafeCo service request was linked to my son's cell#. This one's a dooosie... the driver said to me that since it was my son's phone that was in the link to the SafeCo request that he automatically disregarded my calls. Ok... but why would he not answer the call from the SafeCo rep? It's SafeCo paying for the tow. #4: "I get 150 calls per hour" - Yep, he said it. For the record sports fans, that's a call every 0.4 seconds. Does anybody really buy that? #5: SafeCo cancelled the order. At some point, after it was obvious that 5 Star Towing Company failed and was never coming - and we got the best service from Chavez Towing - it's logical that the first order would be cancelled as a technical matter. However, excuse #5... the 5 Star Towing Company driver tells me that he didn't show up and wouldn't pick up his calls because SafeCo cancelled the call. NOTE: I talked with SafeCo in follow up to my conversation with 5 Star Towing. SafeCO says that the driver's claim that they cancelled the active call is absolutely incorrect. They only cancelled after 5 Star Towing Company would not answer their call and they confirmed that Chavez Towing was en route.

The driver showed up about 1.5 hours or more later than we were told. He didn't even introduce himself & began to get fuel. I finally walked over & asked if he was there to tow me. After fueling, he then disappeared inside to get drinks without even so much as a word. While loading, he complained about how he was "in the process of moving & supposed to have today off". He arrived with a passenger. From the beginning I had requested to ride with him & that was next to impossible in a single cab truck, so I had to ride with my husband, which made him late to work. He sped off with my car & even at 80-85 mph we had trouble catching up. About 1/3 of the way into our trip, he got upset when we asked him to slow down & exited the highway & pulled behind this very sketchy Shell gas station. He then threatened to take my car all the way back to where he picked it up & insisted the police be there before he would unload it at all, making my husband later & later to work. His pants were sagging exposing about 6-8 inches of lovely underwear. I did call the shop to speak with the manager about the issues with the driver & he said if I didn't like it they "should have left me on the side of the road". Later I called to update them as this disaster unfolded & was able to speak with the owner about the situation. He continually interrupted me & complained about things that were not within my control. So unfortunately the problems go all the way up the chain of command here. They clearly don't care about people. Do yourself a favor & avoid this circus. It is far from a business. They are very unprofessional, immature, irresponsible, & reckless. You will be dealing with them all "day and night" trying to get home. I hope someone sees this before making the same mistake I did.
