Bathroom break, and may as well get some gas while we're here…read more Greeted warmly when we entered. Tons of souvenirs and junk, plus snacks, but we were on a mission to get to South of the Border and all the junk there. There were several women in the bathroom, but they were incredibly sweet about me having brought a male careperson in. No one objected and you can't imagine what a relief that is to me every time that happens. The accessible stall was a tight squeeze but I was able to fit my entire wheelchair inside and shut the door. Love's is a truckstop and I was fascinated when they paged people to let them know that their showers were ready. Intrigued, I looked it up and it seems that the showers ARE accessible. Now I really want to see one. I have been on roadtrips before where I couldn't access a shower. That really put a damper on my mental health after a couple days. It's nice to know that I don't have to suffer, if there's a Love's around.

I'm originally from Blackstone but haven't lived there in 25 years…read more I found myself in Blackstone, visiting my family, on the last day of July and realized my car's inspection would expire the next day. I took it to Rick's and upon inspection it initially looked as if I would need new brake pads. I agreed for Rick's to put new pads. Once they took my wheels off they measured and found in fact that I had a good four months left on my pads. Instead of doing what most auto shops would do Ricky called and advised me of the amount of life left on the pads! Guess who will get all of my mechanical business of any vehicle I own as long as I can help it. Ricky is what Blackstone is all about. Good, honest people who love their community. An honest days work for an honest days pay. It just doesn't get anymore ethical than that.

I found Rick's Auto Service nearby and checked out the Yelp review. I called them and explained the situation and asked if they could fit her in ASAP. They were expecting my daughter when she arrived and Janet was so helpful and friendly to her. There service and price were both amazing. The fact that they took care of my daughter and treated her so well was priceless. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
