Mark was very thorough in explaining the results of the roof inspection, and assisted with our insurance claim process and communication with the insurance company. There was no pressure at any point throughout the process, which was a nice contrast to some of the other door-to-door people that come by after storms. SCR sent a large crew out the day of the job, and they finished promptly, and did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. They are a very honest company and offered very competitive pricing. Felipe just completed a multi-week project for me and finished well ahead of schedule. Felipe's…read morecrew treated our house well and their work was top notch. Felipe supervised closely checking the work many days per week. He was often hands-on dealing with details to ensure they meet his expectations. As the project wrapped up, he blue taped his own crew's work and had them cleaning up details that I didn't even notice. When I performed walkthrough there were only a few places I needed to request touchups to and those were handled well. There was one bit of trim carpentry that I wasn't satisfied with and Felipe took an extra day to rework it to my preference and had his crew come yet again to touch up the final paint. He included a house cleaning in the project which turned out well (Sheetrock dust was everywhere, of course). When he came to check the house cleaner's work, he even took his shoes off before entering even though no one was there to notice if he did. At the end of the project, we have a move-in ready house that feels brand new. Sheetrock repairs, interior painting walls/ceilings/trim/cabinets, custom murphy bookcase, enclosed wall cutout, wrapped beam with stain-grade wood and stained. Felipe's bid wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but I trusted his reviews and was not disappointed--I feel we got what we paid for.

I write with very mixed feelings. Johnny Green is a likable guy and owns Green Homes construction…read more We hired him to remodel 2 kitchens, paint, build a deck, pergola, plumbing repair, wiring. While his prices are in line with most everyone else, not all of his work is. His people are paid by the hour, not the job. Some of the workers do work very hard and get the work done right the first time. His painter Jose is exemplary but when we had our home repainted recently, the new contractor we hired explained that a poor quality paint was used and showed me instead what they would be using. We had Green Homes put in a deck and pergola. The stain faded within 6 months, the deck sides were never finished out with a finish board border and all along one end, the deck floor ends with the boards cutting off at various lengths like crooked teeth. Not only this but when he purchased the deck stain, he instead used fence stain as it was cheaper. This would have voided my hot tub warranty and he refused to make it right. So I ended up buying paint and painting the whole deck, which had been a nice redwood deck, with a paint to cover up the stain to avoid chemicals getting on me or into the spa. Years back, we had an ongoing roof leak where he had remodeled our utility room, completely gutting it and starting over, including the roof. Everytime we got a heavy rain, it would leak, whereas, it never leaked before. For 2 years I kept telling him the leak was not fixed, something clearly was inherently wrong with the workmanship and he needed to do a deeper dive into the root cause and fix the issue for good because coming out each time and 'patching' it with sealant was not helping. The last words to me, after repeatedly ignoring this request was that he always lost money on my jobs, said I treated him badly and that his warranty ended 12 months after the work...even though the leak was never resolved. I had to hire and pay for an entirely new company to fix what he did wrong. In doing that, I discovered that his men removed a very important floor joist; they just cut it, when it was meant to support our utility room! Johnny is a nice man, but he does not hire top tier folks nor does he Project Manage adequately to catch mistakes and get them corrected. My final words to him were that he made the decision of whether to ever hire him again an easy one. A reputable company will fix what they did wrong and they should never cut a floor joist.
