I had water damage in my unit that was never covered, and Timothy the manager sold my unit contents despite my satisfying a late fee and confirming with him days before. I got no calls or notices about their actions except an insurance cancelation notice from a third party. The high bidders on the unit informed me that the unit was placed on the bid list just two days after I talked to him. This is fraud. And extra space is notorious in California for knowingly renting spaces to Mexican cartels who were discovered to have dug tunnel systems between storage units and into neighborhoods where many cartel operatives were clustered. ​ read more

I rented a 15x10 unit here for three months. I have only had pleasant exchanges with the manager, Jeff. He is a nice, helpful person. I was confused about the date I had to be out by - it was the 29th but I thought I just had to be out by the end of the month. I had movers move my things from my unit on the 31st, and Extra Space Storage already billed me on the 29th for a new month. He was completely understanding and reversed the charge right away. I've never had any issues with the code or the gate. Every time I came to the unit, I could always access it. There were not any people back by the units that should not be there. Cube smart only 1.5 miles away is going for 30/ month less than the old rate with the second month free. Had to provide 1 star to submit the review, but I would've liked to have given them no stars. Found mice droppings all over in unit, covering personal items that then needed to be disposed of. On-site personnel, Timothy has been helpful. I feel bad b/c he catches all the flack from everyone but is very kind and tries to help as much as he is able in his position. Thank you Timothy! Have heard nothing from management, other than "sorry for the inconvenience and loss of your items". Filed a claim and have heard nothing. Horrible customer service. Have not extended anything to help in the process of now essentially having to go through all my packed items in the unit, dispose of things that have mouse poop or clean and repack everything and get it out of the unit. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS FACILITY. Eventually your things will have unwanted intruders & the other reviewers are correct in that they will raise your rental price A LOT after a few months. I wish I could give them 0 stars for customer service. I am suffering from Covid-19. I contacted Extra Space regarding a hardship accommodation. I spoke to Jeff. I requested a late fee waiver due to Covid. He proceeded to laugh and stated, "Everyone is affected by Covid-19!" I told him that his statement was insensitive. He continued on as if this was a joke, addressing me in a demeaning and disrespectful manner. He never resolved issue. I hung up and contacted headquarters and filed a complaint. read more

Didn't think I'd ever write an online review for a storage facility, and yet here I am. The service is outstanding, the units are nice, and the fees were competitive. I worked with Ike, the assistant store manager, first over the phone then in person. I couldn't tell you if he was more friendly or helpful, but he was a whole lot of both. I never felt pressured to upgrade the unit I requested or the purchase more insurance than what I said I wanted. On top of all that, I ended up paying a lower price than what I was quoted online (which was also cheaper than some other nearby facilities I looked at)! Another notable perk is that this location is conveniently located near shopping (Meijer and Target, in case you need to get tape or boxes or whatever) and is easy to access and leave. This Extra Space Storage facility and our climate-controlled unit is exactly what we wanted when my wife and I decided to put some extra household clutter into storage. And I'm not the type of person who goes into renting a storage unit and expecting a very pleasant experience, but Ike is the type of guy who is such a delight to be around that he somehow makes renting storage units a pleasure. On a side note, it's nice to see on Yelp that other reviewers are saying similar things about Jeff the manager (whom I haven't met, so I can't personally comment). read more

Was told at the end of a year of storage that there were possibly bugs in my unit and that I needed to let them in to treat the floor of the unit. When asked what type of "bugs" they stated they did not know. No perishable items were stored in the unit-All furniture and moving items packed properly in boxes. Called twice, same response. Let them in to treat. I moved out a month later only to find out it was a mouse infestation that was going on for a LONG time. Mouse droppings , damage, and POISON found all throughout my items. Lied to me and have had to keep my dog away to go through this mess. Left numerous messages. Was assured a response and NO call or follow up. The storage space was clean and orderly when I swung by on a whim. Gated front entrance is accessible with a keycode, and there are cameras viewing the entrance as well as other areas. I barraged Jaclyn with a number of questions, but she answered them all very clearly and thoroughly, she didn't make me feel pressured, and her friendly demeanor made for a comfortable and pleasant interaction.
