I have been a customer at Prime Storage in Jensen Beach, FL since January 2024, and my experience…read morehas been extremely frustrating. Since signing up, they have increased my rent three separate times in less than a year. The constant price hikes eventually forced me to downsize to a smaller unit just to manage the cost. The biggest issue, however, was their handling of "required" contents insurance. They charged me $17 per month for their insurance, even though they claim to accept homeowners insurance as long as it covers contents not located at your primary residence. My homeowners policy does cover this. I provided my declaration page and additional supporting documentation clearly showing coverage for off-premises contents. I even had my insurance agent email them directly confirming that coverage is extended to storage units. Despite all of this, Prime Storage refused to accept it because the documents did not explicitly use the words "storage unit." That is an unreasonable and overly rigid policy, especially when the coverage is clearly in place. In short, unless your insurance paperwork uses their exact preferred wording, you're out of luck and will be forced to pay their monthly insurance fee no matter what proof you provide. Between the repeated rent increases and the insurance runaround, this company has been a major disappointment. Beware of Prime Storage--they will find a way to charge you regardless of what you do. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I was late for personal reasons, and the late fee assessed for 2 unit was almost $150. Total racket. Very nice and clean, yet so disappointed in taking advantage of customers in this manner. Customer service could not discount or waive the late fee. Rent has also gone up in 6 months on both units.
