I've never had an issue with my units, the grounds, or the overall safety of the facility. I genuinely enjoy being here. Over the years, I've referred many people, and at least four of my immediate family members currently rent units here as well. Office management is amazing Scott and Lawrence deserve real recognition. Scott is the on-site backbone of this facility -- the one you see constantly staying on top of the grounds, making sure everything is clean, maintained, and running smoothly day in and day out. His customer service is phenomena; he's dependable, consistent, patient, respectful, and always willing to assist. Lawrence is also phenomenal to work with -- professional, helpful, and always clear when handling anything that involves paperwork or questions. Together, Scott and Lawrence make the office run the way it should, and they're a major part of why I've stayed loyal all these years. When I need something done, they make the process simple and straightforward, every time. To be transparent, I do avoid dealing with one staff member: Ian. My interactions with him have been consistently difficult. His tone comes across condescending, like you know less than you do and he tends to complicate simple requests instead of clarifying them. A recent experience -- I was moving things between my two units and using the electrical outlet on the wall. I'd been plugged in for about two and a half hours with no problem, and then 45 minutes before closing Ian suddenly came out to tell me I wasn't allowed to use it. So it took 150 minutes for you to realize and address the issue. A few days later, I called to ask if they stil had any larger unit I oreviously discussed with Scott available so I could consolidate, and in the middle of the conversation he repeats, "And just to remind you, you also can't use the electrical outlets." At that point, it felt unnecessary. I heard you the first time I'm an adult, I understood it, and repeating it came off exactly the way my experiences with him usually feel. Aside from that, this facility has been nothing but dependable -- clean grounds, secure units, and reliable management. I've been here almost ten years, I currently have two units, and I don't plan on going anywhere else. If you're looking for a storage facility you can actually trust long-term, with staff who genuinely take care of their tenants, ask for Lawrence or Scott. They're the reason so many of us stay loyal to American River Self Storage.

    this is the worst place in the world to try to store your things please don't go here in 2021 I…read morewent to the storage unit from this location 2023 my was broken into 2024 after I moved my broken into two more times after that communication with some of the management there was great they helped me out they told me not to worry about you know they will take care of everything at the time of the I was homeless but I was pay my a little income coming in and with me expressing this to them and letting them know that I'll be getting a place soon which was this year just to work with me on my storage unit after it had been broken into three times and all my merchandise that was very valuable to me including ashes that belong to my parents my grandparents that were broken and shattered and scattered all over the storage unit they still would not allow me a grace period which I was asking for several months of free rent due to all the damage that my storage like my scooter being stolen and broken and $4000 the paint supplies that were stolen like $3000 for the paint supplies including the the canvases and the paints and pictures that were already painted shoes that were stolen clothes that were stolen jewelry that was a lot of things that were stolen and instead of going to court they sent me a $3000 check not even close to covering losses I'm not even close and then when I told them that I was moving and I was not going to pay the storage unit anymore because it's not fair for me to have to pay and you guys are not compensating me for my loss you guys gave me $3000 to be quiet not to do what I'm doing now but not me for my loss so I go back to get my things out of storage they put a lock on my storage and when I ask them why should I continue to pay you guys when my storage unit was robbed by not just one but two of your employees I feel because it happened on their watch on their shift at their location during the days that they were there the first lady she was allowing people to break in the storage the second lady she was there what happened and didn't try to prevent it because I was called by management and told that my belongings were outside my storage unit so you 24 hour access to the cameras when they were going off that somebody was breaking into the units why didn't you call the police then why you the next day to contact me and then contact the police stupid okay so the next thing is that when I told I could not pay me a grace period because I was getting my apartment do you know what they told me they told me no they told me no customer service at this location sucks bad they're rude new owners are because they don't know how to communicate I have emailed and called and called and emailed and no one has called nor have they returned my email they have no customer service skills they have no communication skills how they own a business I don't know I don't know they have been so many people that have moved their stuff out of there because it's been broken into cars is that what I found a lot window busted stereo stolen rims taking off of cars you know it's just been a downward spiral with this company and I'm over it

    Worst experience I've ever had at this location. I've been coming here for several years and will…read morenever step foot in here again. Dropped off an item to be sent back. The box was open on the bottom and needed taping. We said to be careful when they lifted it and they dropped it as we were walking out. We were outside when a tall older man with glasses came out and started yelling at us outside to come get the box and they were refusing to send it back. We walked back in and our item was on the floor. No offer to tape it up or give us another box (we offered to pay). The item was delivered the same way we were returning it so we didn't have another box. We were returning a defective ice maker and because it had a small amount of water that leaked (probably a little water in the line when they dropped it). So they dropped it, couldn't get it back in the box correctly and then refused it. We were yelled at again by the jerk with glasses he said it's considered hazmat and the driver would not send it back. Water is hazmat...seriously?!?!?! The way we were treated was terrible from the minute we walked in, being yelled at in the parking lot and then again in the store. Did I have choice words on my way out? Yep I sure did. You can't treat customers with disrespect and then expect them to just take it. So to the man with the glasses and turban, you're a complete jerk and I hope you get fired! You have zero customer service skills and are incredibly rude.
