I recently rented a storage from this location. I reserved online and once in the office it was a smooth transaction. Kisha showed excellent customer service. She showed me a few units to make sure I'm comfortable and she also let me switch. The first storage was too hot so I moved to a climate control with no problems at all. This was my first time purchasing a storage unit and hopefully my last but my experience was a great one. Stephanie was very helpful in answering all of my questions about storage units and she even gave me a tour of the property and showed me where the cameras are located on the premise. Her customer service is top notch and she made the process smooth and easy so getting my unit was a breeze. The only thing I didn't like was the hard sell tactic that she had. Although extremely friendly she tried to sell me a lock insurance and mattress covers. Even after I declined she still tried to ring up the items she even went so far as to bring them to the register after I declined more than once. Like I said it's a hard sell tactic she probably gets commission on tacking on extras so I can't knock the hustle. read more

The owner Is very personable and helpful in getting the right size storage unit. Convenient location and secure and clean

First, I would like to provide useful information for consumers that will rent from this facility in the future. It is a clean facility and it is there responsibility to provide a tour and advise about the cameras because if any event something occurs on their property, you will have to contact your insurance company to file a claim. The staff has changed since I rented my storage units. The initial management did not dehumanize the business, she was very friendly and always remembered you by name. Currently the management "in my opinion" is only seeking the next person to rent a unit to; only to raise the rent over an over again in short window of time after you rent with them. You may start with a promotional deal off the internet, but "buyers beware" nothing is always free in business and nothing is deeply discounted for the betterment of yourself. Only for the business. The business gets its return on investment from the promotional deal by progressively altering your rent every four months. Do not get me wrong, it is legal; but the unnecessary amount of the increase is insane. I had a $71 increase on a unit I initially paid $94 per month in August 2015 for a 10x10 unit. If I was not moving out this month solely because of the methodical process of rent increase; I would leave my items in the storage. However, I would advise if you have valuable items that you do not want to sell, and it is worth the increase after the first four months then another increase after another four months then by all means this is the place for you. I would like to take the time to explain the process of how my rent increase was applied. It started with a small increase of $15 per month for the first increase, next $35 increase, then the final straw was $22 last month. Notice I have not completed a year with this storage facility until August 2016. If you can find a reputable mom and pop facility, you will get better customer service and the human factor does not diminish; simply because they value your business. For big box facilities like Extra Space Storage, I would recommend you evaluate your ability to pay for the additional rent increase as it comes, the necessity for the rent space, if you can sell or gift what you have to save money for something better in future...save your money! It is a location that is secure and safe to store your valuable items. However, please remember you will also have to pay for renter's insurance. It is necessary to have coverage on your items in the facility, but it is an additional expense. I would recommend Assurant Insurance, it cost us $43 per quarter. Evaluate, evaluate, evaluate. i would nt even give this place a 1 star. Our storage space got robbed! We lost 85% of our personal property. The cops did nothing and of course the storage place owner/manager did nothing. We made the biggest mistake of our lives storing our property here. Please beware of this place Not safe or reliable. If you are currently storing your stuff here, take it out ASAP! read more

Customer service is subpar. They called nonstop about me confirming my reservation. Practically rushed me to come and sign the paperwork the day of my reservation as if I provided them with a specific time. Then, they go to lunch (@1). The lady that owns the place and another employee went to lunch simultaneously..I still can't comprehend the reason for having backup if both people are going to disdisappear at the same time. The positive is the location, cleanliness, and convenience of my unit. However, all of tht went out the window when the gate code that was given to me did not work. It kept saying access denied which didn't make sense bc I was there the day before to get my storage unit. An emergency number needs to be provided when the office and 888 customer service is closed because I wasn't able to access my unit on a Sunday which was very frustrating since I no longer live in Dallas. I strategically planned the weekend in order for me to move out of my apartment and into a storage unit, especially since I haven't been there in 5 months. Luckily, a good samaritan and fellow storage user assisted with be gaining access to my unit and leaving. I waited outside the gate well over 20 minutes, honked my horn, called non-stop and Susan sat her ass inside her on site apartment and did nothing. I will definitely never rent a unit from Extra Space Storage ever again and I sure as he** will not recommend this location to anyone else.
