Well, the carpets were well cleaned and overall I am pleased with the results. However, the cleaning was much more expensive than I was quoted. I was quoted $200 and it came out to be $268. He then offered to clean some noticeable blue, green, and red stains for an additional cost. The stains didn't come out; don't pay extra for the stain treatment. read more

When we called to inform them, they were very sorry and sent out the same guy that made the mistake. He was frazzled and couldn't understand how he could have been so careless. Amazing job! I've tried various other carpet cleaners over the years, but was always disappointed. The carpet never seemed very clean when they were done, the house just smelled like wet dirty carpet and maybe they got off the top layer of dirt. That's not the results with Extra Mile though! The carpet I thought was beyond saving looks brand new again! The before and after was just stunning. Wonderful, helpful owners and company. We needed some furniture and rugs cleaned in Rancho Mirage but when they came, they said they didn't have the right equipment for the cotton fabrics on our couches. They immediately called another service to come out the next day, and then they proceeded to clean three rugs in the house for no charge. The rugs looked fantastic. I made an appointment with him to come give me an estimate and told him if the price was reasonable I would have him clean the carpets as well. He gave me a great price for 5 rooms and had 2 of them cleaned. Mike moved my couches for me and didn't charge me for it. The carpet cleaning took less than 20 minutes for both rooms and I couldn't be happier. Once the carpet dried I could really see how clean it looked. Extra Mile is a lifesaver. I attempted to do a quick cleanup of a spotty carpet using a rental. NBD, I've done it before in the past. This time however, the suction didn't work properly leaving too much water in the carpet and when it finally dried, soapy spots everywhere regardless how many times I had rinsed. Extra Mile did an excellent job removing those spots and more and cleaning our other carpets. Now they all look pretty close to brand new, very fresh, at a reasonable price. I had already scheduled with another company (received one of those mailers)... crossing my fingers as usual... decided to check and see if any fellow "Yelp'ers" had used the company I chose. I saw that extra mile had 6 reviews at the time... so I read them... then decided to switch and try them... from my first call... the "Tell Me How Much It Is Really Going To Be To Do It Right"... with the customary "I Don't Want Any Ups Sales When You Get Here For Pre-Treat This Or Seal That" thrown in for good measure.... to Mike the technician leaving... it was everything everyone else had written it was and more... they gave me a price on the phone that was reasonable.. and my final bill was actually less... no way... did I mention they pre-treated everything and spent extra time on the bad spots..... they removed spots the last company had said wouldn't come out... they showed up on time and went to work quickly... they explained my carpets composition to me and explained how to get the longest benefit from my cleaning.. and how to help prevent those old spots from coming back... I can even overlook the fact that Mike the technician was from Texas... so of course comes with the Texan sized carpet cleaning stories... haha.. .. but seriously, there is something about fresh clean carpet that just makes the whole house feel great... and these guys do a great job..... read more

We just moved into a 1947 house in Palm Springs and the carpets were in dire need of a good clean. We called Extra Mile Carpet & Tile (mostly on the strength of other Yelp reviews) and I'm really glad we did. From my initial inquiry on the phone to the leaving of plastic booties to wear, these guys were professional all the way. Our appointment was for 9am last Thursday (8/16/12) and at 8.45am I received a phone call saying they were on their way and due to arrive at the scheduled time. And they did. When they looked at the carpet, they told me there were certain places that may not come up really well because of the breakdown of the underlay, which apparently results in a general flattening and 'separating' of the carpet fibers themselves. Also, one room had had numerous carpet pieces laying on it, and there were distinct straight lines of grubby versus clean. The guys were a little concerned about how that would come up and explained it all to me up front. The whole job came up better than we (or they) expected. There were a few stains that didn't come out, but that's through no fault (or lack of effort) on the part of the Extra Mile team. I would recommend them without hesitation. read more

My experience with Extra Mile was honestly one of the best I've ever had with a service provider. I was only going to be at the house for less than 24 hours, on a Sunday, and I called to make the appointment with only a few days' notice. They accommodated me! The lady on the phone was extremely kind and professional, answering all my questions very clearly. The pricing structure was totally straightforward, and there was no up-selling when they arrived. Paul came on time, and got straight to work. He worked a solid 2 hours without stopping in 100+ degree heat, and was drenched in sweat. Yet he remained cheerful the whole time. Had his girlfriend not been expecting him back to enjoy his Sunday, we would have invited him to hang out...very cool guy! And the results!!! The house had been a rental, and it showed. Now, all of the carpet looks like new! Had Paul not been able to work his magic, we would have replaced the carpets because we wouldn't have felt comfortable with the babies crawling around down there.
