I used Exterior Source to have leaf guard gutters installed. I shopped around and received quotes from three companies total. Exterior source was extremely professional, informative, kind and not too pushy with their sales pitch. The one thing I wasn't a fan of was they gave me and my husband a list of personnel who bought leafguard and encouraged us to call them and ask what they thought. I am an introvert and cold calling random people to ask them about gutters make me feel like a telemarketer...so I had my husband do it and no one answered their phone, which honestly was kind of a relief LOL. Before they came out I did brief research online about different types of gutters. What I liked about exterior source is they brought the product with them as well as competitors products and physically explained the difference. Later on when I had other competitors come show us their product, I had already seen it and felt more knowledgeable about how they function. Out of the three companies that came to our home, exterior source was the most expensive. In my head, when they gave me an estimate I was like "yeah, I'm good going with the basic gutters and there is no way I'm spending that much". I had two more companies come out to our home. Believe it or not, it was the difference in competition that made me want to go with the LeafGuard system with Exterior Source. The salesmen for exterior source made me feel more comfortable and explained the price differences. The other two competitors gave a lower price, however, they were offering much less gutters and lower quality for not a big difference from the leaf guard system. One of the other competitors wouldn't stop calling my phone and would say things like the price of these gutters are going up this week...ACT NOW! That was a turn off for me. I had a stained window installed in my shower a few months ago and I was told 8 to 10 weeks it would be installed. It was more like 10 to 12 weeks. Communication was nonexistent during that time. Finally when the window came in they didn't inspect it until the day of installation. So it couldn't be installed and I took off work for nothing. Finally a week later I got the window installed it was fine until a week later when the trim started to come apart. I called them to come in and fix the trim and they never came. I will start off by saying I used exterior source for gutters and the quote and estimate process was seamless and very professional done by Carlos. He answered all my questions and was through. He did such a good job I called back to get another estimate for another job. Again very professional no pressure approach. The day came to have gutter installed, the business showed up on time. I had to leave prior to them finishing the job so I wrote a check and take it to you door. I came home later that day to the check removed and a folder in the door with warranty information on April 16, 2021. So this is where some installs issues came up that I noted and also housekeeping of the installers not cleaning up after the job was complete. Fast forward almost 4 weeks later I receive a call from The telling me I have a balance due and I need to get it taken care of. I told Jenny that I had issues with the install and had left a message and not received a call back from exterior source. She informed me that they had not gotten the check to her knowledge, but told me she would check with the crew when they returned and verify. She also asked me to check with my bank. She also scheduled a time for the crew to come back out and follow up on my concerns from the install. The time scheduled was supposed to have been a day and time I would have been home but based on my cameras they came early. She then called back a day or two later to inform me they had not gotten the check. I then was called and texted by Josh asking for payment and I informed him of my concerns that I didn't feel were corrected along with the metal cuts from the gutter down spouts that were left in my yard. He assured me they would come and correct both so I set up a time for myself to be at the house so they could correct the issues and also for me to make the final payment since the initial payment had been lost. They came as scheduled check all the connections and assured me everything was correct so I made final payment and moved forward To this date I am still finding cuts of gutter down spouts and josh was at my house again this morning cleaning up trying to located anymore. I texted him when I got home asking him if he had came to the house as I had not seen them camera and he said they had, he also said they did not find anymore pieces of aluminum but proceeded to tell me all the other stuff that found i.e. siding cuts, insulation etc. He also told me I should get my internet checked due to since didn't see them on camera and also for emails that was supposedly sent out that I didn't receive till Hours later. To summarize this business: I think they received my initial payment that was left for them and at some point it was lost which explains the 3 to 4 weeks I didn't hear from the business. (Josh explained that there had been a motor vehicle accident and some of the office staff had been out taking care of the family member who was hurt was the reason for not following up on payment sooner) I produced emails showing times stamps of completely different times then what he told me they were responded to. (Again this is where josh said that I needed to get my internet checked) These is short summary and as I told Josh I feel there some short falls and dishonesty from exterior source. Please do your diligence and ensure you keep records on this company if you choose to do business with them. Reply to the response from the business: I would like to first say, I have more then 3 down spouts but again, maybe you are having trouble keeping up with other customers who are unhappy. I do not want anything else done but when multiple employees makes excuses for the shortfalls of your business that's poor business practices. I never once said you all didn't come back out and attempt to fix issues. Also I have found at least 12 pieces of trimmed pieces from the gutters. Regardless if he didn't find any, it was exterior sources responsibility to ensure the area was clean and free of hazards like these, not the homeowners responsibility to continue to always be vigilant to ensure his daughter or one of her friends doesn't get cut but one of these pieces. The dishonesty comes from saying you emailed at a specific time or called and left a voice mail which you didn't. Based on my experience, the compensation you took off my bill is irrelevant to the shortfalls your business created in this customer business relationship and I will not be utilizing you all for any of my future jobs at my house. I think a lot of times businesses think compensation is the best way to fix a unhappy customer. In my case that's incorrect, ensuring the safety of my family members and guests is what's important to me. Don't blame debris in my yards on other businesses. Accept the responsibility of what I can point back to your business and move forward. read more

UPDATE AS OF 2022 JOB...dropped 1 star due to experience after work completed in 2022. Issues where products installed w/ broken material & covered up. Same day & a few days later it's not working as it's supposed to so someone had to come out to check only to find broken materials on inside, etc. Techs not showing up for appointments. Emails not being responded to after calls made to find out status of repairs/replacements/etc. (Days turned into weeks then turned into 2 months) before I heard from someone...because they realized a payment wasn't made of course, which I intentionally did because I knew they would reach out when they wanted their $. 1st encounter w/ unprofessional person was a phone call with Lorraine, who said she was the General Manager. After 2 months of no resolutions I requested a face-to-face meeting with the owner & was denied. You would think with the amount of $ that was spent you would always get positive results but no. From our sales person Mike to our project manager Mark and all the workers who did an outstanding job replacing the 30 year old vinyl siding on our home and wrapping the windows. These are not your typical contractors. They developed a plan, showed us samples and provided future looks of our home before work began of what the outcome would look like. We have been dealing with other contractors for our home renovations for the past six months and these guys were just a breath of fresh air to deal with. Buyer beware! We had our Clog free/ maintenance free gutters installed 10 years ago. All was well ..or so we thought...until we noticed a small water spot in our ceiling in the kitchen. After investigating, it was discovered that the gutters had a clog that ended up being a nightmare for us in home damage and repair. The gutters are only on a small portion of the back of our home. They are high enough that we are not able to reach with an ordinary ladder but we were assured it would not be necessary as they were clog free gutters. Let me assure you they can and did clog on us and we are 3 months into the process repairing our first floor and second floor water and wood rot damage from these gutters. The company is not standing behind their product so I am letting future buyers decide for themselves. The water damage company that came to do the "hazmat" repairs of mold and wood and sheet rock demolition told me he was considering purchasing these gutters but would NEVER do it after seeing what kind of damage was done to our home. read more

Unfortunately, we need gutters instead of the roof and they cannot do gutters where we live but he was completely honest that we don't need a roof just yet so when we do, we will DEFINITELY be giving him a call. He gave us numbers to a company that is able to do the work we need done. I highly recommend this company because of their honesty. Had a new exterior door installed. The agreement was to remove the storm door, install the exterior door, and reinstall the storm door. The installation of the new door was fine. They didnt seem to know that we were keeping the storm door and almost took it away. When I told them it was to be put back on, they knew nothing about it. Total lack of communication between company and installers. When they did reinstall the storm door, they did a terrible job. The door was put on crooked. A huge gap was underneath it and it doesnt open without hitting it. They are supposed to be professionals. We were going to buy a new storm later, but looks like it will be sooner. read more

I can not recommend this company. Set up appointment to get estimate and options for gutters. Appointment was set up 2 weeks in advance. I received 2 phone calls and 2 text to confirm the appointment over a few days. Appointment was confirmed twice via text message. The day before my appointment i get another text asking me if they could move my appointment time due to a scheduling conflict. That in my opinion is disrepectful to the customer. If a company can not respect my time, i will not give them my money. There are TOO many companies out there providing the same servce who will treat people respectfully. read more

We contacted this company to come out and give us an estimate on a new roof. Andrew came out and did an excellent presentation and thorough job of inspection and quotes...... Little too long but great job. We ended up hiring them out of four other companies that came out to give us estimates. We were scheduled to have our roof replaced August 18 and was told that they would be done by the 19th. We were called that morning said that they were worried about the incoming rain can we drop the materials of and start Saturday the 19th in the morning. Funny thing was there was no rain in the forecast at all for the day or evening and not even on the radar. We decided to look the other way as it was a hot one..... But our thought was if you can't work due to rain how is it OK to leave our roof materials in the rain?? They finally came Saturday the 19th and started work at 640 in the morning, Imagine the frightened state we were in that early in the morning. They completed their work that evening or so we thought as there was no communication. The lead person did not speak English. When we came outside to see the finished roof we were immediately unhappy.... The shingles going across the front part of the house were seriously crooked. You could see the line go from left to right slanted. The shingles were going slightly crooked from left to right. When we called them to say that we weren't happy we were told it was because we had architectural shingles...... Yes we know what we ordered we sat through a four hour presentation. Even though they are architectural shingles they should still be in a straight line and if that was the case the entire roof should be like that not certain sections, just saying...... So then they came back out to rip it down and do it again. Finally it was put on straight..... This was Monday. They were supposed to put on new wood where the roof meets the front of the house. They put back up the rotted wood that we paid to have replaced. Called the company again / Andrew the only person that we had a number for to contact. We were never told to contact anyone else. Andrew informed us that they came out today and finished. I let him know that no they didn't. Took pictures and sent it to him. He told us the project manager went out today and finished. Again we sent pictures and said no one did. He called us back let us know that there was a communication error. The project manager was coming Tuesday to put the new wood up and wrap it. Tuesday Comes and the same crew came back up and put the new wood up, didn't bother to take stickers off the wood or wrote their dirty hands prints off of it, nailed it up and didn't even bother to hammer the nails all the way in or put anything on the nails to protect them from weather because you know in about a year those nails will rot and rust and look fabulous on a roof that we paid tons of money for. They also ripped a piece of the vinyl near the window and we were told that they would fix that.....Again we call Andrew he comes to our house Wednesday to take pictures and call the project manager to see what the deal is. We again are told that they would be back on Thursday and that the project manger would finish everything up. I let him know we would be out of town as they were supposed to be finished the weekend before...... He told us not to worry that they would finish it up this week and when we got back home we can call him and tell him that everything was good and that we can schedule a completion sign off and we can pay them what is left after the deposit. Needless to say not a damn thing was touched. We have video surveillance on our house and see everything.... No one came out to the house at all!So here it is Monday morning I call them to see when the roof will be finished as we are supposed to have huge rainfall and I'm worried about the rain getting into the window where they ripped the vinyl.... They'll be there Wednesday to finish..... The day after the heavy rain fall. When Ashley called us to schedule that I let her know how unhappy we were and that everything was supposed to be finished the Saturday before last, 2 weeks ago not two weeks later and that we were very unhappy she acted like she didn't give a single care about unhappy customers. Nothing like we're sorry or what can we do to fix this nothing instead she blamed Andrew for his communication problems with their office. We are still waiting for our roof to be finished. A two day job is going on two weeks+....... No I'm sorry, no discount nothing offered for the headaches and trouble they are causing. Repeat phone calls left and right. We are seriously not happy with this company at all and are very happy to review them here as well Facebook, and ask other social media outlets!!! We paid $1200 for 55 ft of standard gutters, and when we asked if they could match the competitors prices for standard gutters installation, we were told that's how contracting is done. They say they try to help fit your budget but in reality they just want your money they don't care about you or your family wellbeing just want to see how deep they can dig into your pockets! Don't recommend and don't want anyone else to get ripped off. He will not leave your home till he makes a deal and make you feel bad for not saying no! Don't let them do what they did to us! Had gutters removed and replaced on two story home. Free estimate and he (Steve) came on time and gave me an estimate and design plan. Oncce accepted, I made a down payment and work was scheduled for one day to complete. Workers (Ross, Fred, & Robert) arrived on time on the scheduled day. Got about half way finished and the rain caused them to stop. Returned the next day to complete the work. Lifetime guarantee ! No more cleaning gutters.
