She provides recommendations so you don't kill your hair and is honest about repercussions if you want to do something harmful to your hair. But gives you space to know it's still, your choice at the end of the day. This is why I did invisible bead extensions! I've colored my hair for years and it's become damaged & thin, but i love long & blonde hair so much. So, getting extensions was the best step forward. She handsewn extensions into my hair, the extensions were tight only for the first day, but now I forget I have them unless I touch my head. After a male client arrived, I noticed that her demeanor toward me changed. While he was there, I politely let Christy know that I needed to leave by 12:30 p.m. because I had to go to work. I wasn't rude or demanding, and I wasn't asking her to disregard anyone else's appointment. I had already been there for several hours and simply wanted to make her aware of the time I needed to leave. Her response was to begin berating me in front of him, repeatedly pointing out that he had an appointment. I understood that, but so did I. My appointment had begun at 7:30 that morning. What really crossed the line for me was that because I told her I needed to leave at 12:30, she threatened to cut my hair. She was threatening to intentionally cut and destroy my hair because I gave her a time check. That is something I still have a difficult time wrapping my head around. I had trusted this woman with the care of my hair, and she used that position to threaten something that she knew could devastate me. And if she had actually destroyed my hair, I would have been devastated. There is something deeply disturbing about threatening to damage something another woman has spent years growing and caring for simply because she told you she needed to leave for work. I experienced that as threatening and abusive behavior. A stylist has tremendous physical access to a client while she's sitting in that chair. Using that access to threaten to intentionally destroy her hair because you're unhappy with something she said is completely unacceptable. The fact that this happened in front of a male client made the interaction even more uncomfortable. From my perspective, it felt as though putting me down had become a performance for him. I can't know what her intention was, but I know what I experienced: her demeanor toward me changed after he arrived, and I was subsequently berated and threatened in front of him. And I kept thinking: you would really threaten to destroy another woman's hair in front of a man over this? Toward the end of the appointment, she also began badgering me because she hadn't received a payment notification yet, making me feel as though she was assuming I wasn't going to pay. Again, this happened in front of him. I had given her no reason to believe I wouldn't pay, and of course, I paid her. The entire experience left me feeling unnecessarily humiliated. I came to get my hair done, treated her respectfully, and gave her a reasonable heads-up that I had to leave for work. There was no reason for that to turn into being berated, questioned about payment, and especially threatened with having my hair intentionally destroyed. If you're running behind, tell me. If you can't finish by 12:30, tell me. Those are normal conversations between a stylist and a client. Once that threat was made, I no longer felt that I could trust Christy with my hair. Based on my experience, I would not return or recommend her services.

Uyen added extensions and created a gorgeous bronde color. Over the years we've tried different looks, from very blonde to closer to my natural dark blonde, and I loved it every time! What impressed me the most is how healthy my hair stayed the entire time. After wearing extensions for over two years, I took them out for a while and my natural hair actually looked about 30% thicker than before (The thickest it has ever been).
