From very bad night to extremely great next night The bad parts started since the room had extreme cigarette smell, still could smell even after buying 2X fabreeze and spraying every surface including the ceiling. Then found out that even though T.V was on when I arrived the remote was missing batteries - that was resolved rather quickly by staff bringing new remote. Next bad moment started at about 3:00am when couple in neighboring room started arguing loudly. Found out from staff that the room was issued to homeless person, but they allowed another visitor to stay. They were eventually kicked out about 8:00am. Next bad issue was toilet would not flush strong enough for tissue paper to go down. I was told the maintenance person was not working on Saturday, but they would see what they could do. I told them I would be gone for 4 hours, so hopefully they could resolve by then. Returned about 3:30pm and toilet was still not fixed, and they said no other room availability, but would refund my next night. I told them since wasn't expecting this to give me some time to figure out what I wanted to do. About 30 minutes they called and said a handicap room was available because of a cancellation, so I happily accepted that offer. What a difference! This room was like major upgrade. No foul smell at all, larger room, larger T.V. perched on higher dresser, and no noticeable neighbor noises the entire time. The other positives of this hotel, price is definitely on the low price side compared to most, liked the location next to Lowes on one side and car wash on the other, so very reasonably quiet outside. Only 2 - 5 minute walking to about 4 fast food places and/or restaurants. All the rooms are actually very accommodating because they have stove, large refrigerators, microwave, have plugs everywhere, very good wifi, good selection of T.V. channels, which included showtime. If it sounds like luck of the draw, it probably is, but I think I would stay again. read more

My family and I stayed at Extended Stay America Hotel for a few days. I had never been more humiliated & degraded by any other hotel staff, To the point where front desk not only humiliated my children, my mother & myself to the point where San Dimas Sheriff was called to kick us out on the street with all of our belongings due to a "miscommunication" error between the front desk staff. That morning I attempted to renew our stay for a few more nights when I was told that I had not paid for 4 days of my stay. I had no idea what they were talking about. I told them that it had to be an error & provided them with my bank statements to prove that I had paid. They refused to see my statements & stepped aside, I clearly overheard front desk staff, (Ron) tell the other staff member that it was a Sunday, therefore they could easily book our specific room at a higher price, since I had used a promotion code. When I attempted to show them my bank statements (again) the male staff immediately picked up the phone & told me "I am calling the police so they can kick you out". I waited for the police & showed my statements. Thats when the female staff went to the back office again & immediately returns telling me "sorry it was a miscommunication error, between staff & you do not owe anything". I am a cardiac patient, I was so shaken up, of how we were kicked out into the street that I had chest pains for 4 days after the incident. All of this just so they could charge more. I had a very bad experience with this company, I had booked for 2 nights because I was in town for the weekend. Upon arriving to the lobby after a full day of driving from Sacramento to LA I was turned away because the hotel was "overbooked". Mind you my room was payed for already and reserved. Im not sure what reservations mean for this business. Will not be booking here ever again and I recommend you double check if you do and call them incase they decide to inconvenience you as well. read more

Great Hotel, huge space with a full kitchen. The only thing is the complimentary breakfast is horrible, muffins that are old and coffee that tastes like the canister was never cleaned out. I've been to several extended stay motels in the last few months, and Extended Stay America is far and away the best motel I've stayed at. In contrast to the other seedy motels I've stayed at in this area, such as Motel Six (where three men broke into rooms while the guests were inside and a car was stolen) and the Red Roof Inn, where the police were called often and there were shady characters skulking around, I've felt safe at Extended Stay America because it's a security building and a staff member is on the job 24/7. Also, the front desk people (Ron, Sabrina, Ivan, and Darlene) are kind and helpful. In addition, the manager, Greg, has told guests, "Let me know if there's anything I can do for you." (See my picture of him.) Also, he had the wifi network upgraded to Cheetah, and it's much faster than the previous network. In short, I highly recommend Extended Stay America. read more

This is a great value especially for the money! I got the room for under $100 a night I have a very comfortable room with two desks, a comfortable bedbed and a comfortable chair, a TV, a closet with shelving that's awesome, a small kitchen with everything I need to prepare simple meals (because I don't like to go out to eat every night it's too expensive) and a great clean bathroom. I am not sure what some of those negative reviews were about because I've stayed at several different extended-stay locations and they have all been quite nice. We just completed our stay at ES San Dimas. We had a great experience and superb customer service. I arrived the next morning for my late check-in, which essentially meant that we paid for a day that we did not use. Our drive from San Francisco took way longer than expected and we were exhausted by the time we arrived. At 10:30 am we met the general manager Greg at the desk who checked us in right away and worked with Priceline to change the day we essentially missed into an extra day. We really appreciated the time and effort it took to do this. Thank you, Greg you are an asset to the company. We will make this our hotel for future stays. Our room was clean, the a/c cold. I did think we got a smoking room upon entry though. We had cold drinks and ice faster in that in-room fridge than we do at home. I did wish for a little more water pressure in the shower, but no complaints. The bed and pillows were comfy. The halls were quiet at night and early in the morning during our stay, although the parking lot was full. In addition, we highly recommend the location, especially for those with families. It is in a safe, clean and quiet area near freeways and also many restaurants, supermarkets, Trader Joe's, Target, a nice 99 cent Only store with a good selection for your in-room cooking or family needs. To be fair, several of the low ratings I see on here are due to the misunderstanding of people who selected to stay at an Extended Stay without reading their write up. They do not offer daily maid service, so you have to make your own bed. They don't restock your towels, you have to get them yourself. The kitchen is not fully stocked, but they provide and in-room list of items you may want and they offer to drop it off. Similarly, there are no ice machines, but ice trays are in room and ready to put in the freezer. This is how extended stay places work. These things are clearly stated online and in Priceline, Kayak, Expedia and other travel sites. So it is not fair to give them a bad rating for something the buyer did not read. read more

So far my experiences with the Extended Stay America chain have been pretty good. And this one was no exception. I stayed there with my girlfriend for a weekend, and was uniformly happy with the mini-suite. It was the exact same layout as the Seattle one we stayed at earlier, so there was a feeling like we should be seeing rain and snow out the window rather than a bright and sunny Southern California day. The only drawbacks to the place. The shower had very low water pressure one day, the drapes didn't quite close all the way, and the WiFi was S-L-O-W. Ack. You get what you pay for, right? Well, not quite. I paid $66 post taxes on a night when this hotel was advertising $110 before taxes and fees kicked in, thank you Hotwire. I don't normally post a review about budget hotels, as many of my complaints are just part of the package, but I was pleasantly surprised with this experience. And thus, this hotel earned my review. Just to be up-front: If I paid anything higher, this review would lose one star. But for the deal and experience, and the cleanliness of the property, it earned all five. To be fair though, the fifth star is largely because of Ron at the front desk. The check in process was smooth and quick and I appreciated him helping me out with my requests. I checked into the room and it was a bit warm (75F!) , so I put the AC on blast and turned the tv on to pass some time. The beds weren't above average, but I definitely didn't feel any springs and the sheets were clean. The pillows were plenty, the toiletries present, and the overall amenities on point. The room had zero odor to it, a nice welcome, despite there being a full kitchen present. The only complaint I have is that there was some debris/dirt on the chairs adjacent to the desk, but it wasn't a big deal as I didn't use them. Good night indeed. read more

if you LOVE the smell of STALE and FRESH cigarette smoke and watching t.v. stations like it's 1980, this is the place for you-as i walked up the little front path to the lobby-there were 3 people sitting on a ledge there, smoking-and ONE, looked and acted like a 'tweaker', i KNOW the look because i've been clean & sober since 89 but i remember. I WAS TOLD, THIS WAS A NO SMOKING HOTEL? i asked the guy and girl at the desk (guy didn't smile ONCE and seemed ANGRY) when i checked in about it-she said 'do you want me to ask them to move'? .....i said NO, they might go KEY my car or something, then, i went up to the 3rd floor and as soon as i opened the door, THAT SMELL hit me, LIKE A TON OF BRICKS-NICE AND COLD BUT-IT WAS STALE AND FRESH, CIGARETTE SMELL trying to be COVERED by AIR FRESHENER! a.k.a. GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i went back to my car and walked WAY OVER, across the lawn and 'around' the cigarette smokers who seem to be more important than NON SMOKING guests-they COULD go someplace else to smoke-we can only go up that little walkway to check in-o.k.-back to my review-this time, as i got back to the lobby-a man and woman just out the lobby doors-lighting up cigarettes-i wanted to leave but i couldn't-i had to 'tough it out till friday' and it was only monday........THAT smell, got into everything, including me, my eyes hurt to open and close them when i woke up in the morning and i started coughing up gross stuff-i NEVER COUGH and i haven't been sick in over 30 yrs. it was hard to sleep because, although the bed and covers look clean-THAT smell is in everything. i opened the fridge-it was set to the lowest temp-1, i turned it up and it had 'THAT SMELL' of a fridge that's been closed up and it causes whatever you put in there to have THAT smell too and the fan in the bathroom-when you turn it off-light and fan go off but it sounds like a HELICOPTER is just above it and that sound NEVER STOPS and the management pretended they didn't know about it and i was told on monday, i'll have maint. take a look-that never happened because as i read other reviews-i see the same thing-you don't just hear it, you FEEL it-the girls there were pretty nice but again-they won't say ANYTHING to the smokers right outside the lobby. also, they say they have vending machines-i'd brought my own stuff but needed 1 water-a small DESANI for 2.85? and credit card only, my card wouldn't work and 'they' said 'it was just fixed today'....i called my bank it wasn't a problem with my card so.....i couldn't wait to get out of there and i am still feeling the effects of breathing that horrible AIR. read more

My sister came to visit and I recommended this place based on the other Yelp reviews and it was not good! The exterior is deceiving - nice, newly renovated. The room she stayed in had a bed that was hard as a rock, the bedspread was classic polyester and did not match the curtains (which isn't really important, only indicative of the care given to ascetics inside the room), and there was no air vent fan in the bathroom which made it super uncomfortable after using the shower. It is pet friendly which is a plus for some travelers. It was not a benefit to my sister as she listened to a dog bark on and off all night. She ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express down the street the next night and was very happy. read more

This is my second less than good experience with Extended Stay America. On their website it states they have smoking rooms. I was going to book through a third party website and called to make sure they could guarantee a smoking room. They said they could not and said I would have to book directly to guarantee that. I asked them how many smoking rooms they had available and they stated two. I proceeded to reserve a room. When I got to the hotel later in the day to check in they told me they no longer had smoking rooms and this went into effect the day I went there and was a result of rooms being remodeled. I called their 800 number and was told they did still offer smoking rooms. The front desk said otherwise. I am not sure what is going on with this place, but they really need to get their act together. I am not sure you can believe a word of what they state on their website. read more

I decided to stay here due to the price and location. Both were nice. That was my mistake. The A/C doesn't really work. It occasionally will activate and produce cool air... But after a minute or two it's off. All the controls work, but it acts like there is a regulator on it. Day 1 was fair. Then the outside temp dropped... So the room wasn't that warm. Opening the windows allowed the room to cool. Bring your own shampoo, soap was the only thing provided. As far as the room, it was clean, and the full size fridge works well. I've stayed in others where they provided plates and cook wear. Not so here. A wonderful BARE kitchen gives one the impression you could cook here on your stove, but you better have everything yourself. Daily Room servicing is non existent. I would expect daily cleaning. Not so here... Be warned. Upon check out... Company policy... Maid service is ONLY after 8 days of staying... Not too well advertised... Never again read more

I can only give 2 stars because the outside of the hotel is nice and the grounds are kept. We did get a good price ($67!) and I felt safe there. Here is where the low score comes in: OUR. ROOM. WAS. FILTHY. I mean, it was flat-out gross. The carpets had clearly only been swept in the areas that people would notice. There was someone else's dirty sock behind the dresser. Underneath the bed was disgusting with dust and peanut shells. The bathroom shower had mold in the ground and there was mildew scum around the faucet. The toilet lid was cracked and the sink looked greasy. The kitchen part was fairly clean but the lamps in the room were covered in dust and it basically looked as if the maids were spot-cleaning only. Our room didn't have an odor but we had the unfortunate circumstance to be in a room next to someone with a very excitable dog who barked off and on all night. I hate to rate this hotel this low because it was a decent price but the cleaning staff here *really* need to step up their game. read more

Stayed here for one night with my husband and daughters. The sheets were stained so we requested them to be changed. The problem was rectified within the hour. Later that night we discovered dried pooling of urine in front of the toilet as well as dried urine on the front of the toilet. The floors were very dirty. The rest of the room and bathroom appeared to be clean. The air conditioner worked perfectly. It was nice to have a microwave and fridge in our room. However you must bring plates, cups, etc with you if you plan on eating in the room. They provided one dish towel, one foot towel, four bath towels (which were very rough), a hand soap, a bath soap, and shampoo. Thankfully there is a 99 cent store and a Target very close by. Grab and go breakfast is very basic. The coffee is terrible! Bleh! After discussing the problems with the lead manager on duty she chose to refund our money. She was apologetic and embarrassed by the problems. I expected a little more luxury considering the cost of the room was $139.99. I gave 2 stars because of the refund and location. read more

Don't stay here! If I could give no stars, I would. Walking from the car to check in, a Uhaul truck in the parking lot had guys & gals smoking pot and drinking beers. Didn't see any prostitutes. Our room was dirty, way dirty, floors and counter tops were sticky. Loud people after 2am coming back from the local bars. Doors slamming all night. This place is pet friendly with dogs barking and pooping everywhere. We checked out! Plenty of nice hotels in the area, well worth a little extra money. What does one do when they have to stay at a Hotel with their two pets in tow? Vacation? Perhaps. But at first it's more like being a refuge at a immigration camp. Us humans have a way at adapting quickly but dogs? Well lets just say they need some time. When I checked in here I wasn't sure what to expect and how would the other guests feel about staying next to another guest with two dogs. But when I saw the amount of other guests that were in the same situation I am in, I started to feel better. It seems that us pet parents have a "wing" of our own so that not to bother the other guests that are checked in. Us parents of the "four legged" children are a special breed in deed. I have met some really nice people here that are on vacation and traveling with both two legged children and the four legged variety. You see, most pet parents are very considerate when it comes to dealing with other pet owners. Oh sure you get some people that need to take lessons when it comes to pet ownership but isn't that the case with a lot of things in life? Day five. Has it already been five days? Yes. LOL I guess you can say that the dogs and I have adapted to our temporary home quiet well. The staff here have been very accommodating and have done their best to take care of us. I have to say this has indeed been a first but an experience that hasn't been all that bad at all. Honestly I have to say that when escrow closes on the new house it will be nice to simply open the back door and let the boys take care of business on their own but until then, we are quite happy right where we are! read more

The hotel is located in a great area surrounded by restaurants and shops. I was first given a room on the second floor but some construction was going on. I could hear every drill and hammer banging as I was directly over the area where the remodeling was taking place. I told the nice young man, Andrew, at the front desk about my dilemma and he apologized and immediately assigned me another room on the first floor-Rm. 131. I was very tired and the room appeared clean. The next day I noticed the room had a funky odor of smelly feet and it was obvious that the bathroom had smoke residue smell. I let the front desk know but I didn't want the trouble to move so I sprayed Febreze for a quick fix. I hope they shampoo the carpet. Nevertheless, I commend Andrew and Alana for their outstanding customer service. read more

ESA underwent a huge makeover during the last few months: new furniture and bedding (mattress is sooooo nice), new linens/curtains, nice flat-screen TV, kitchenette with full-size fridge. The kitchen includes tableware and cookware for two. If you're planning a long stay, bring your crockpot and maybe a toaster oven and you've got it made. Don't forget to bring salt and pepper -- coffee, creamer and sugar are already there. Water is filtered. Small but nice bathroom features a handy under-sink shelf, bowed shower rod to avoid sticky curtain syndrome, adjustable shower flow, good water pressure. They just started serving Continental breakfast with Quaker instant oatmeal, an assortment of packaged breakfast muffins and cereal/snack bars, fresh fruit, and two types of coffee with multiple creamer choices. I believe they can also have breakfast catered for groups. Staff is friendly and always helpful, from the management to desk clerks to cleaning folks. Full room service is every 7 days; interim towel changes can be made at the desk anytime; additional full cleanings can be ordered. If you've forgotten your hair dryer or toothbrush, check the front desk. In-room Wi fi is FREE! TV includes basic broadcast channels plus Showtime, Showtime Too, Oxygen, USA, TNT, TBS, news/weather channels, and several ESPN stations. Best view is from the second or third floor on the mountain side. Conveniently located off of the 57 freeway, the hotel is very close to a gas station and car wash as well as the local bus if you need it. Within an easy walk of Zendejas, McDonald's, KFC, Taco Bell, Carl's Junior, Del Taco, and Lowe's. Also close: Sizzler, Cask N Cleaver, Denny's, Red Robin, and Applebe's. There's no room service or pool, but this is a nice place to stay. Landscaping is beautiful and well kept. read more

Please don't stay here. There are homeless people that hangout all around the hotel in dark places, just talking loudly. People smoke near the lobby door. I went down to get some coffee at the time breakfast was served which was only grab and go snacks. There was no snacks, no coffee and no staff around anywhere. I even called on the phone at the front desk to no one answering it. It's uncomfortable to walk around, my room felt uncomfortable I was on the fence to use the shower, not sure if that was the style they were going for or I was in an outdated room. It felt dark like I should be at a motel. The area is nice for this hotel to be this way. Please do better, it's a nice area to allow people to hangout all over for your customers who pay to feel uncomfortable. Other customers were angry as well. Not good for kids to stay. Leaves on the carpet as you come off the elevator on floor 3. Stayed there for days so obviously vacuuming is not a priority. Asked where the ice machine was and was told they have none. Found the previous guests' leftovers in my fridge so they don't check there either. The bed left a lot to be desired and my pillow I affectionately nicknamed "the pancake." read more

This experience was absolutely horrible, my elderly grandmother had to stay there, due to her house having a water leak. She stayed there one week place is not clean overpriced put in work orders to have things fixed in the room they never came, on her last day they kicked her out. And we tryed to extend her stay because her house is not ready. but they did not care and made us move they pushed my elderly grandma out onto the streets, we had to find another location, until her house is done this experience was inconvenient and a horrible!!!!overpriced$$$$ hotel not to mention that the Manager was absolutely RUDE!!! The only positive feedback my husband and I have is Daniel at the front desk he went completely out of he's way to accommodate us. My husband being in the military hadn't seen he's family in years and was really looking forward towards a few weeks of leave, unfortunately our stay there was beyond horrible. Never ever again will we stay there even if it was Free that's how bad our personal experience was. We are not once to complain. I am just trying save someone from a sour taste in your mouth and probably an ulcer. When we pulled up it look like a nice comfortable hotel. As we were looking for a parking we noticed abandoned like vehicles. When we were walking towards the main lobby stunk like pee noticed pee like stains on the concrete floor looked like it hadn't been swept in weeks and very dusty (build up) Daniel was the only one working night shift doing a thousand things at once and some how managed to be extremely welcoming and accommodating despite he's resources. We received a handicap room a bucket to be honest I was not staying there period. Daniel changed our room yet that wasn't any better the next day we talked to him again to please switch us to the first floor. The elevator had animal hair, leaves and dust bunnies. The second floor carpet stunk like dead something with animal clinic/hospital that hasn't been kept in months. We tried the stairs but that wasnt any better. I completely understand its pet friendly but clean the place for heavens sake No daily Housekeeping only once a week and when they do they do a half **s job Not to mention weirdos roaming the premises and bumming our cigarettes I got scared enough I stopped going outside at night my husband had to change he's smoking spot so he could smoke in peace. We don't have any pets yet we found pet hair and pet food underneath the furniture. The only day I tried their so called continental breakfast it was a grab and go. A few Granola's and coffee but no coffee cups when I asked the gentleman at the front desk he replied with "Yeah, someone already went to go buy some" my jaw was on the floor with he's careless not even eye contact reponce a guest staying at the hotel offered me a bit up cup that he was about to use himself. Very kind on he's behalf but No Thank You. We ended up at IHOP On a last note but not the last bad experience our keys kept demagnetizing constantly almost every other day. When we ended up at the front desk for them to fix the issue somehow we were at fault because we carried our card with a cell phone yet my husband didn't have a cell phone. read more

We were checked in to a room overwhelmingly reeking of cigarette and there was no smoke alarm. The staff was very nice and moved me to a different room, again, no smoke alarm. There was only one person available at the desk and they were scrambling to take care of everyone. The grab and go breakfast (I showed up at 7:30 AM)Consisted of decaf coffee, the regular was empty, and a granola bar. Tea was available. Nothing else. Nada. Zip. Let me start with the staff. They are super helpful. In every aspect. But the hotel itself is filthy and in desperate need of repairs. When we arrived in San Dimas. We called around 10:45 am to check if an early check-in was possible. We were told to call back at 11:30. Went to eat around the corner and called back at 11:45 when we finished eating. We are told that no early check-ins are allowed and we could only check in from 3pm on. This was frustrating because we called the day before about early check ins and were told to call the day of. Then we get to the hotel and are actually allowed an early check in! We get into the room and it reeks. Smells of old and dirty with Lysol. Pieces of furniture are chipping, microwave doesn't work, blood on the bathroom doorway, missing smoke director, blood and urine stains on the mattress and kitchenette counters need repair ASAP. somehow our room key cards deactivated...TWICE..had to go to the front desk where the employees were super helpful. read more

When we checked in the beds weren't finished being 'made' from the previous customer. Sheets had been pulled up but hair was on the bed and it looked like they weren't fresh. There was pubic hair everywhere in the bathroom. When we tried to talk to the office staff about the issues we were told we could switch for a room that wouldn't accommodate our party and was smoking (we aren't smokers and we have young children). They sent us back to our room with sheets. They were of no help and wouldn't offer to help us cancel our booking as we booked through a third party agent. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. Okay for what you pay. There was hair in the shower (not mine) and also in the bed (again not mine). Besides that it was okay. Only annoying thing was in the morning staff tried to come clean the room twice before we checked out. And cars got showered by sprinklers over night. Not sure if I'd stay here again... read more

This wasn't the best hotel. There was quite a few nasty thing we saw. There was a few holes in the wall, a red stain on the carpet, a stain in the shower and a broken cabinet. At night, the air conditioner was broken. It was really hot. It was hard to sleep. But that wasn't the worst, the hotel itself stunk. From the lobby to the rooms. Wasn't a very good hotel. read more

This hotel was very nice and roomy. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The tv was on the smaller side but it did its job. I also did not care for having to access everything at the lobby, specially because I was at a higher floor. I like the convenience of the small kitchen though. Also the "breakfast" they offer is just coffee or milk and small muffins or bars. Very on the go. Nothing special. Overall when it came to comfort and cleanliness it was very good. read more
