I found Janine on yelp after noticing my 5 year old was pronouncing "r" as "l," among other things. Luckily we were able to get a class with Janine and from day 1, she has been so patient and kind. My oldest graduated from her speech class today and the difference in how she talks is INCREDIBLE in less than 3 months. Janine was also the one to tell us (before our pediatrician!) that my daughter has enlarged tonsils, which was also affecting her speech. Janine really genuinely cares for her students and has made a profound impact on my daughter. I have 2 other kids who I will definitely sign up if they start to encounter the same speech problems. Another mom from daycare recommended Janine to my speech delayed son. I decided to go the private route to help my son with his speech, and I'm glad I did that. Janine was great, she's attentive, patient, and engaging when playing and helping my son with his speech. She would provide tips and exercises to practice at home when not in therapy. Janine is very knowledgeable, and was able to answer most of my questions, We started seeing her in Oct, and b/c of covid and sickness, it's been on and off. However, within few months, I can see big improvement in my son's speech. He went from using one word communication, to 2 words. Janine came through on every level for my 10 month old (at the time) when he had a total food aversion and sensory issues with different textures of food. Most places were booked weeks out but she made time for us the next day! On the first session he learned how to suck through a straw, ate some cheerios and touched food! I was amazed. We started speech therapy with Janine back in August of this year for my then 2.5 year old son. He was showing some signs of speech delay and only saying one syllable words, instead opting to use hand gestures. Since starting with Janine, my son has become extremely expressive, now speaking in full sentences and even telling me "mom I'm gonna puke everywhere" - when I ask him if he wants to eat something while he is sick. The one-hour sessions with Janine were full of valuable information and observation that I could then take on to apply in my time with him, so your money goes far beyond the hour spent with Janine. Secondly, I was shocked at how much my son actually enjoyed going to therapy. To the kids, its a full on hour of play with all kinds of toys and goodies Janine has.
