We recently started at Expressions and our experience has been wonderful experience so far. They help my little one with her confidence and help her to have fun even when she may not be feeling it that morning. We are very excited for the upcoming recitals. read more

RACIST!! This past Saturday was the Halloween event at Santee lakes and this center had a vendor there, during the trunk or treat there were about 3 little girls giving out flyers and handing out candy to EVERY CHILD, smiling, laughing, talking, being friendly. As soon my son went up to them and said trick or treat they immediately ignored him, gave him and myself the dirtiest look & acted as if he was nonexistent!! Even myself included!! And I noticed it's because he wasn't white like all the others that were interacting with those girls handing out flyers. Before we went up to them it was white parents/kids & the energy was there, soon as myself & my son went up to them it was completely different, after we walked away I turned around & they went back to acting friendly to of course other white kids/parents. I was so upset and couldn't believe young girls at that age could be so rude to another child that is a different color than them. I wanted to confront the parents of those girls but it was so hectic and crowded. Very upsetting and shame on those children & parents as well!! read more

We've been coming here for the last three years. The dance instructors and office team make you feel like you are part of a family. There are so many classes offered and there really is something for everyone. My daughter loves everyone here. They not only love dance but you can tell they really love and care about our children. The studio itself supports so many good causes. It's nice to be part of something that is making a difference in not only my child's life but the lives of others. read more

Great studio for our toddler. We started taking Saturday morning class when she was 2 years old and it was fantastic. Teachers are so warm and friendly and best of all had a great structure to the Ballet/Tap class. I'm sure it wasn't easy having little ones running around but Ms. Alexandra was fantastic at teaching and keeping the girls engaged. The best part is the recital where you see all their efforts pay off, super adorable. read more

It's a well organized, successful dance community with a mixed up idea of what inclusive actually means. If you have a son that likes to dance please consider going elsewhere. My son did not get a fair experience at EDMC. Because he is a boy he was short changed by the costume staff, recital staff and overall managing team. read more

I highly recommend the cardio dance class for adults on Tuesday and Thursday night, which has been challenging and a lot of fun!

My daughter loves her toddler tippy toes ballet class. The teacher is wonderful and I like the small studio atmosphere. Can't wait for her to try other classes! read more

I have been so impressed with how the Expressions staff has modeled resilience for my daughters. From completely revamping their lessons to accommodate stay at home orders to hybrid classes to an on stage recital (within COVID safety guidelines). All the while continuing to keep lines of communication open and clearly updating us on new policies and procedures. So very proud and happy to be part of the Expressions Dance and Movement family! read more

I have three dancers at Expressions, my two sons and my daughter. The thing that impressed me about this studio is the confidence that I've seen in the young people that make up the heart of Expressions. Every child May not grow to be a prima ballerina or dance with the Russian ballet but all of the children that attend Expressions will have The opportunity to be a CEO, CFO or whatever their minds eye can see they've learned at Expressions that the heart and hard work can achieve anything. read more

When my daughter's dance studio closed down last year, we were so fortunate to find Expressions dance studio. The quality of the instruction, the professionalism of the organization, and the values they promote are exceptional. This is a place where students can not only get an excellent dance education, but also grow in character. There are leadership opportunities as the dancers get older, and the studio has something for everyone. It is a perfect balance of professional dance without the stress of dance competition. I highly recommend this studio. We have had experience at many different dance institutes in San Diego over the last 10 years, and this one is by far the best! read more

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE this dance studio. My 21/2 year old has been taking classes here since she was just shy of her 1st birthday. We started in wiggles and giggles and we are now in the toddler classes. My daughter loves it!! The teachers are amazing and patient with the little ones and really adapt to the learning style of the class as a whole. It has been such a joy watching my daughter grow and learn new skills. She loves her class and her teachers, she loves to show us what she is learning. The dance class has really helped her to fine tune her listening and following directions ability while she having fun and learning about dance. She looks forward to it each week. The studio is great, and the staff are all so sweet! The wonderful thing about the studio is that they really take feedback into consideration and are responsive to parents! read more

I'm so glad I found Expressions for my daughter. She's in Kindergarten, but had been dancing there for a year and a half. She absolutely adores Miss Beverly and I couldn't ask for a better teacher. My daughter looks forward to dance every week. This studio is exactly where you want your kids. There is no pressure for your kids to be perfect, just to have fun, dance, make friends, and be good people. I love that my daughter doesn't just learn to dance, but learns how to be respectful and how to be a good person by example at this studio. It is such a positive environment that Darcy and Karen have created. Every employee and helper in the classes and at the front desk is warm, personable, and welcoming. You won't be disappointed. read more

We just joined Expressions Dance after we grew out of another great studio in town. I was looking for a local dance studio and ran across Expressions Dance online. I was hesitant to join this studio after being very comfortable with our old studio but I'm glad we made the switch. My daughter is five and LOVES our new "dance class." The staff is very friendly and our particular class is large (17 students) but the studio is great and has two assistants in the class along with the main instructor so all the students get the attention they need. This is not a competition studio (which we love) but it is a great studio with a friendly staff and owner (who responds promptly to emails). This is a great dance studio for your little one. We're glad we're now a part of EDMC. read more

As the father of 2 daughters that have been going to this studio for years, it is refreshing to see a dance studio that focuses on positivity, self worth, and freedom to be yourself that dancing provides. I love the fact that every dancer is given the same amount of time and dedication from the staff no matter their age or dance ability. read more

My daughter loves dancing at this studio! Her dance technique has really improved since attending Expressions Dance and Movement Center. The studio is run in a professional manner and is extremely organized. Staff are welcoming and teachers are well versed and teach students in a positive & friendly manner. My daughter takes four different classes with four different teachers all of which she enjoys. Growing up in the dance world I personally feel this makes for a well rounded dancer. read more

My daughter is 3 and she just completed her first season of dance classes here. The teachers are very caring, my daughter loves them! She has also learned a lot and was so excited to perform at the Recital, which ran very smoothly and was very well organized! I would highly recommend this studio. read more

My daughters have been dancing with this studio for two years now and we have loved every minute of it! Their instructor is very professional and most importantly, fun and kind while working with the children. All contact that I have had with the owner and the rest of the staff has been very positive and professional as well. I was thrilled with the quality and organization of the recital. Recitals are by nature lengthy events but I enjoyed both shows thoroughly! It is wonderful to see all of the students enjoying the art of dance and showing off all that they have worked so hard to learn over the course of the year. I love the caring feel of the studio and the fact that my daughters look forward to class every single week. I highly recommend this studio! read more

I'm a single father and my young daughter wanted to try dance. She picked ballet, it was very easy to enroll in classes and everyone was very helpful. The instructors and front desk staff were awesome. Even when I asked for last minute help just before the recital they were happy to help and made it possible for my daughter to have a great time at her first recital. I tell everyone what a great experience it has been, my daughter loves going to class and we hope to continue. I can't say enough positive things about Expressions! read more

My two daughters have been dancing at Expressions for several years. They have learned so much and have grown into amazing dancers. The staff is incredible and truly cares about each child. They have been an absolute blessing to our family and we are so thankful for them. Not only do they offer wonderful regular classes in the studio, but they also bring outside opportunities in like master classes from traveling Broadway cast members, the opportunity to audition to perform in the children's cast of the Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker, and even the opportunity to dance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I cannot recommend Expressions enough. read more

Amazing dance studio - but also so much more! Both of my children attend classes here and have for a few years now. Not only do they learn dance skills, but they also learn to work as a team, respect each other and most importantly, feel good about who they are as young people. My husband and I could not ask for more from Darcy and her unbelievable team. read more

We are a new family that enrolled our daughter in classes. The customer service is amazing. The front desk receptionist is always eager & kind to answer my questions. The owner even reached out when my daughter was shy to start at a new studio. Every time I pick up my daughter from class & ask how it was, she is always excited & says she loves it. The studio is large & very clean. There is also a dry erase calendar up front to keep everyone updated on the upcoming events, as well as email reminders. Great prices too. read more

My 6 year old grand daughter has been dancing here for 2 years. The classes are ok, but the studio is small & you can't sit inside and watch. The biggest complaint I have is regarding the 2 performances they do. The costumes are expensive & the performances are horrible! The show has dances performed by adults and the majority by older kids who are on traveling dance teams. It's sooo long, boring, disorganized and very unprofessional. The poor kids are there 1 hour before the 3 hour performance & don't get lunch or dinner until it's over & they leave. My other 5 year old grand daughter dances in north county & her school rocks! Night & day difference. If you enroll your child here skip the recitals. read more

I knew a few people involved at this studio (dance parents and employees), so I figured it was a good studio. I went to one of their recitals the other day for the first time, and I was blown away! The variety of dance styles, the enthusiasm of the kids. You can tell the dance teachers there foster creativity, self-worth, confidence, and FUN. I had been to many other dance recitals in the past, and I usually got bored at them. Watching EDMC's show kept me fully engaged the whole time. Awesome music, great dancing, happy kids. read more

This is a fantastic studio. I have been dancing my whole life. I wish there was a studio that offered these opportunities when I was young.
