I found this place through a Groupon offer, but wasn't able to purchase the Groupon, sadly. I decided to come here anyway because of the great reviews. Sara is definitely in high demand and her receptionist books her every 15 minutes. Realistically, I know that no Brazilian takes 15 minutes so the reality is that you're probably going to have to wait. I did have to wait an extra 25 minutes, but I thought what the heck, the reviews make it sound like it's worth it. Sara is very friendly and sweet, and I liked her a lot. She made sure to use a new wax stick for every application, which ensured quality health precautions. I felt safe coming here. The wax wasn't too hot and she completed the process pretty quickly (20 min). The reasons I gave this place three stars vs. four or five were: 1. Having to wait so long for my appointment 2. Having to undress in front of Sara while she was in the room (what?! - mildly uncomfortable, even though she was about to see everything - I like having that moment to myself and have never had this happen at a salon before) 3. I was told by the receptionist at booking that I would receive $10 off for being a new client and then wasn't given that discount when I paid, even after mentioning it. Otherwise, I found the place to be clean, safe, and friendly. I would go back if I lived in the area or if it was convenient for me to get there. read more

I decided to give this place another chance, especially because they ended up apologizing for what happened first. So it's time for an update here. I've been back. No longer getting appointments with Sarah because when I do it ends up being pushed back once I'm already there. So I get it, she is busy. However, I've been seeing Mimi for a while now and she is -in my opinion- better. Not because she is more talented but because she is never in a rush, she takes her time and pays attention to the little details. I usually get brazilian, but the last time that I went I trusted Mim withi my eyebrows (which I'm very picky with) and she did an awesome job. I'll be back. read more

Amazing experience here both times I've been. The first time I went for legs and underarms, and today I just finished my first Brazilian ever- and I feel AMAZING. Lynn was so sweet and she was done with me in about 20 minutes. Definitely going back! Bring cash for tip- I end up paying for everything in cash just to make it easier but they accept card too. read more

Mimi is my go-to woman here. She is quick and efficient and the group's rates are reasonable. I've gotten bikini, underarm and legs waxed. She could probably do massages if she wanted to she's really good at that too and sometimes gives a little bit of one on the feet and calves. Excellent. read more

Within a week I had a terrible disappointment... Let me make it very clear... Sarah's customer service is awesome! She's a nice person. But unfortunately within a week i had several ingrown hairs!!! It was awful. Basically 4 years of consistent waxing (for of course smoother & even toned skin) gone down the drain!!! From ingrown hairs to the unbelieval itching of new growths I only experience when Ive shaved (never experienced this w/ previous waxing w/ my normal waxer in Baltimore). I asked her to use the 'self hardening' wax when i got there (that's all my normal waxer used for me)... but (respectfully) Sarah convinced me that she knew what was best for me & I should relax and let her do what she knows best. I regret it! read more

A quick update for mimi. Almost painless brazilian waxing, very easy and fast full legs waxing and underarms. Again everything was perfect, those ladies are so professional and friendly it's alomst too good to be true but in that case it is absolutely true, I would give it 10 stars if i could. read more

Sarah was quick and super friendly. I love that you can make an appointment online. Someone had mentioned that some of the staff randomly walked in -- I just wanted to make a note that there is a curtain inside the room by the door so if someone opened the door, there is still a (black) curtain therefore it adds another layer of privacy (at least the room I was in did). Sarah did step out for a second, but she knocked before coming in -- hope that clears things up! read more

Express waxing will meet all expectations, and then some! I've been to Express Waxing twice so far, and each experience gets better. Sarah is very thorough when it comes to completely removing hair, and makes you feel comfortable in the process. I've gotten brazilians from other places in the DMV area, but with a combo of customer service, quickness, and efficiency, Express Waxing has everyone else beat! The salon is in walking distance of the Balston metro (Walk in the direction of IHOP, and make a right on to the next street). read more

I work in Arlington and I was just looking for a quick place to get my eyebrows threaded one day, when I stumbled upon Express Waxing. 100%. A+++. Gold medal! Seriously, Sarah is so professional at her job, it's not even funny. Everything she uses is clean. Gloves, mask, spatulas. And she'll have you in and out in 15 minutes! I honestly was skeptical after reading these reviews, but everyone is telling the truth. Sarah is chatty too so she'll talk your ear off and before you know it, you're done! I highly, highly recommend this place for Brazilian waxing. read more

This place is amazing. Got my first Brazilian by Mimi and she was amazing. She not only made me feel very comfortable, but she did such a great job. Everyone on the Salon was very nice. I will be back soon! They take same day appointments as well. read more

So I'm here visiting from NYC and Mimi was great! I had very little pain and I've gotten lots of Brazilians before. Totally recommend Mimi as she was through and quick! read more

Is it possible for waxing to be this painless and easy? I didn't think so, but it was here! I saw Sarah and HIGHLY recommend her. I got a Brazilian and it was the best I've ever had. Not to mention, she was so personable and friendly the entire appointment. I will definitely be back! read more

I travel for a living. I've been waxed from coast to coast. Sarah is by far one of the best estheticians I've seen, and I've seen a lot. I now make a point of waiting till I come to Virginia to be able to see her for her for my waxing needs. Sarah. First off, she's just a wonderful. She's friendly, happy, and a relaxing person. Waxing can be a bit unsettling, even for us who are seasoned, she does a great job putting you to ease. Sarah is fast and thorough. No missed hairs and in record time. She uses great waxes, is very clean, it's all you can ask for. Oh! And affordable. Her waxing prices blow all other competition out of the water, not to mention her great skill level. See Sarah, you will not be sorry. read more

Very nice salon. Mimi is great! Very informative and gives great advice. Will definitely return. read more

Waxing (any type/area!) can be an anxious experience, but Sarah at Express Waxing was great. She let me know what she was going to do and gave me tips for after care as well. The location was a little difficult to find, but once I doubled checked my appt confirmation email, which included detailed directions, I knew exactly where to go. I will definitely be back. read more

Let me just say I love love love Sarah!!! She's amazing and remembers me when I come in every so often. I've been going to Express Waxing for a Brazilian wax for about two years now, so I've been through almost all of the staff. Sarah is the absolute best, but she still speaks so highly of the rest of the staff. Appointments are incredibly easy to make, I often do them same day. I have had an instance before where Sarah may be a little behind or I was late, so in order to get you in and out they will try and place you with one of the other staff but I refuse!! I must have Sarah at this point and she knows I will wait so they don't even ask me anymore lol. I like her because it can be kind of awkward to have someone all in your space, but she talks to you and makes it a little less weird. She's always so quick I'm normally in and out within 15 mins, and she makes sure she gets everything (even if she has to go back and tweeze). Also, something that I find ridiculously important, THEY DON'T DOUBLE DIP IN THE WAX. After it's all said and done, I'm incredibly smooth and everything is perfect down there. I've visited other waxing salons and I've had terrible experiences, but I've never had one with Express Waxing. Even the price can't be beat at $50. I highly recommend this salon and that you try out Sarah. I hope your experience is as awesome as mine always is!! read more

My experience here was great. I've had maybe one other great waxing experience but unfortunately, that place no longer offers waxing outside of facial hair so I had to find another place. I've tried one other place and almost vowed to stick to Veet after that. I went out on a limb and came to Express Waxing and I'm glad I did. Sarah was great, she put me at ease, she didn't take long, and I was very happy with my wax. I also loved that I could create my appointment online and receive a confirmation email. Definitely use the tip in your confirmation email about the location. I didn't and I got lost. Womp. It's also inside a salon, which makes it a little tricky to find. My Yelp deal was honored and I even got another one for checking in. I plan on returning! read more

Sarah is excellent at what she does. Very fast, thorough, friendly, and even honest when she missed a spot and went back. It is hard to find decent male waxing that is professional and does not cost exorbitant amounts - especially in DC. Well worth the cost and she deserves a nice tip. Keep in mind - tips ONLY in cash! read more

Best Brazilian I have ever experienced!!! I'm actually looking forward to my wax! Sarah was extremely gentle, friendly, professional, and knowledgable. I am so happy that my friend recommended this place to me, otherwise I would still be subjecting my self to expensive pain at red door. Spreading the waxing gospel about Sarah at express waxing to everyone! read more

Mimi is GREAT!!! I highly recommend her for all your waxing needs. She's funny, fast, sterile and does an awesome job! Booking online is super easy too! read more

This was my first time at the salon and I just love love loved Sarah! She exceeded my expectations and I will be a returning customer for her! read more

I got a full leg waxing and it cost 60 which i used the yelp deal of $10.my wax tech was Janetta and she was a wonderful spirit. Being my first time waxing i was nervous about the pain. On a scale of 1 to 5-5being excruciating, this experience was a 2. This place is close to ballston metro and is actually located inside salon Istanbul . I would go there again. The entire process took 30minutes and my legs are spring ready. read more

Best waxing service in the area - clean, no double dipping, easy to make an appointment & accommodating staff. Mimi is the best, very nice, patient & caring. Highly recommend this place for your waxing needs! read more

Okay Sarah is my gal. Got a Brazilian and wow is she fast and thorough! She's sweet, engaging/distracting and really great at her job. Highly recommend!!! It's also pretty reasonably priced compared to most other waxing places. read more

You're in and out with little fanfare. The staff are friendly, if a bit distant when you first check-in. Place is well-decorated and very clean, nice and airy. After getting there for my noon appt with Mimi, I waited 30 min to be seen. I don't know if this is the norm or if they quadruple booker appts, but wasn't expecting the wait after being seen instantly the only time before that I have been here. read more

This place is AMAZING! I live in NE DC and rarely come into Virginia, but for this place I make an exception! They're quick, thorough and have light hand (which makes the waxing experience soooo much better). The only con for me is when booking appointments via yelp it doesn't allow you to add multiple services. So you either have to go to their website or call. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

I originally went to Express Waxing because of the reviews I saw on yelp. I requested Sarah. She was great, friendly and quick. One of the best waxing services that I've experienced read more

This place is amazing. My friend referred me to Lynn when I needed a new waxing spot earlier this year. Express Waxing is everything you want in a waxing salon: clean, extremely clean (up to Covid standards too), professional, friendly, reasonably priced and the brazilian wax itself is actually the least painful wax I have ever had. I don't know what magic they do! I leave DC where I live, to come here and will continue to! read more

Sarah is NOVA's best kept secret. She is friendly, professional and makes you forget what you're actually doing there. The ability to book online is so convenient. The quality of work is superb - she did not miss a hair. And, it only took 15 minutes. I have been to many salons around the metro DC area, and she is THE BEST. Do not hesitate to make an appointment today! read more

I've been coming here to get a Brazilian for about two years. Everyone is professional, kind, and thorough. The whole procedure is quick and less painful than anywhere else I've been. Now it doesn't feel good, but for some reason, it doesn't hurt when I go here. Hence, why I haven't gone anywhere else for the past two years. Sarah, Lynn, and Mimi are awesome. If I could give a higher rating, I would! I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

By far, my favorite salon for waxing! Everyone there is friendly and professional. I've gone to Mimi, Sarah, and Lynn. They're all really thorough and quick. I usually book my appointment during lunch hours, whether it is for eyebrows or Brazilian, I am in and out before my lunch break is over. Definitely recommend this place! P.S. The salon is inside Salon Istanbul. read more

The service was amazing. My appointment started on time. Mimi was great! She was clean, never reused sticks and took her time. I have been waxing for some time and this was one of the least painful. I would recommend going to Mimi for all your waxing needs! read more

I've been coming here since 2013 and have religiously booked appointments here since then! Seriously, I've seen everyone: Sarah, Lynn, Mimi, Chanada, Vimean... and all the ladies are so super sweet, efficient, quick, and professional. I haven't seen Sarah in a while (=*( I miss you so much, lady!) because of my work schedule, but my last few visits (and my go-to when Sarah's not available) have been with Lynn and I love her sooo much too. She's so attentive and makes sure there's no hair left behind. Online booking is easy. They're very flexible if there's an opening and you want to move your appointment time up (just a phone call away...) And I never have to come back for at least 4-5 weeks. The ladies know what they're doing and I love seeing them. I'm so bummed I no longer live across the street from the Ballston location, but duly noted - I will still be coming back when I can and am hoping to check out the Clarendon location soon since it's a little closer + has a parking lot. Tried and tested, for the last 4 years... the quality of service, customer service, and cleanliness of the salon has remained exceptional. The only thing that has changed is that each visit no longer feels like I'm just getting a wax - it feels like I'm visiting friends & family! =) read more

This place and Nina were amazing!!! Couldn't have asked for a better first experience. I will definitely be coming back here and you should give it a shot. DONT get me wrong, it does hurt, but it's so quick!! You will love the results. read more

I had an appointment and got lost walking on the way there. I called to apologize and ask them if I could still come in to get my eyebrows done, and the man on the phone hung up on me. I tried calling again and no one picked up. When the salon called back, I immediately cancelled my appointment. I don't support businesses that treat their customers poorly, so I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I've been here 3 times. This place is amazing, as soon as you walk in you feel so welcomed! The technicians are sweet and listen to what you would like to have done. I do eyebrow and upper lip wax. They take their time and will make sure you are satisfied before you leave. I picked this spot after seeing all of the positive reviews, and it's worth the hype. The prices are what can be expected in Ballston, but you get what you pay for and I am always happy. read more

I'm a simple guy. The staff here are friendly, experienced, efficient and waxing (back) is damn near painless. I've been going for a couple years now. read more

Mimi was awesome! Very professional, expedient, and very nice! I would go back to her again!

Sarah is great. She is so knowledgable and tries to make it as pain free as possible. I live in Silver Spring and plan to drive to Arlington for her services. The location of the salon is a little awkward but the concierge at the front desk of the apartment building will happily point you in the right direction. I love her punch card program that allows you to get a discounted wax after only 4 o 5 visits. She also offers a $10 off coupon for you to give a friend if you were referred by anyone. The best part is she is very talkative and funny! Thanks Sarah! read more
