Came in yesterday without an appt and the ladies there were able to asst me asap. They did a great job!

Best place to wax ever. They are super thorough, it doesn't matter who helps you everyone is courteous and professional. I go here for my eyebrows and Brazilian and I have extremely coarse hair (sorry for tmi) which makes waxing/shaving etc a huge pain. I get so much razor burn and ingrowth it's just a mess, this is the only place I've been that takes the time to all those short little hairs that become ingrown after waxing. Also they gave me some really good self care tips to prevent infection and ingrowth and razor burn. Making and cancelling appointments is super easy through Yelp with them and the pricing is fair especially for the services. Side note I've heard parking is a pain in the butt there- I walk so I wouldn't know from experience- but just leave a little early to find a spot on the street close by. There's a parking garage a little ways down the road on randolf I think... read more

Today I received a wax from Sara. She also did a great job! She was very nice and chatty throughout the wax. She has a slightly different approach from Lin. Sara waxes very quickly. Nothing was sacrificed in her technique, but it was different from Lin's more slow and gentle approach. I would still recommend either of them for a wax. It really just depends on which style you prefer as a customer. read more

The service and workers are great. Convenient location if you live in VA. I live in MD but always find myself there.

Love love love it here... and always recommend it to friends. I visit eh Ballston location and normally book Sarah or Mimi but all the waxers are great! They really do a great job at making you feel comfortable and always offer great conversation. read more

The ladies here are absolutely wonderful! They never disappoint and they're as gentle as they can be when it comes to pain while still getting the job done. I've gotten waxed by both sisters and they're both equally great. Parking is usually pretty easy to find if you go during off hours too. read more

I've been going here for over 6 years and they're the best!! You can easily make appointments online and the pricing is fair. Sarah and Lynn are my favorites. I just went today and they're taking all the necessary precautions and you need to wear a mask inside now. Glad they're back open! read more

This was my first professional Brazillian waxing experience. Rida was so so soo good and quick and friendly!! I would recommend this place to everyone! They are very hygienic and make you feel extremely comfortable! I have finally found my to go waxing place! read more

I just love my ladies. I have been waxed by them all, pretty much; even two at a time (I have a high tolerance for pain) and the experience is still amazing. They make you feel very comfortable and relaxed. They are very thorough and clean! I think they are reasonably priced, compared to other aestheticians. I will remain a faithful customer‍ read more

I have been getting bikini waxes since I hit puberty and Brazilian waxes for about a year and a half now and today I finally came in to Express Waxing at my sister's recommendation. My appointment was with Sarah, and she was so thorough and kind! It was. By far the least painful Brazilian wax I have ever had. Her attention to detail is much appreciated. You can tell she really wants you to be satisfied with her service, and return to their salon. I've great had Brazilian waxes at cheap places and horrible Brazilian waxes at fancy, expensive places. Express waxing is reasonably priced for this city, and they do a great job. I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to get a wax in Arlington and the surrounding area. read more

This place is borderline mystical. The women who work here are beyond sweet (as in, I've been greeted with a hug before), and they are somehow able to provide nearly painless waxes. The rooms are clean and bright, the music is nice, the technicians are quick and thorough, and I just can't imagine why I would go anywhere else. read more

I've never written a Yelp review before, but Sarah is the BEST! You will walk out feeling like a queen. As soon as I walked in and told Sarah it was my first brazilian experience, she immediately hugged me and said "Honey, be strong!" She makes jokes with you the whole time and the experience is completely painless and FAST (when they say 15 minutes online, they aren't kidding). I've since then been back multiple times for eyebrow threading/waxing and more brazilians. Every time is just as wonderful as the first. Sarah will make you feel like you're one of her best friends all while telling you how beautiful you are and without the typical pain of waxing. I live in DC, and commute in to see Sarah. I will not see anyone else in the area. read more

Still going to Express Waxing 2 years later and just as happy as day 1! I have since moved from Ballston to downtown DC, and I still drive all the way out to get my wax done here. I know all the hype is about Sarah, but I personally love Mimi and Lynn- who are also much more available, which is an added bonus for me! I also see Chanada at their new location closer to Clarendon. read more

I'm happy with this place... they're clean, thorough, reasonably priced and efficient... how much more do you really need in a wax place? The ladies are all really charming and friendly... and I love being able to book online, just makes my life easier and less awkward. read more

I had my first full Brazilian done in 5 years and I had the best experience! I didn't know any of the estheticians by name so I had an appt with Sarah, but I got there 20 minutes early and Nina took my back right away! I felt so comfortable and she did the best job and keeping it as painless as possible. I recommend Express Waxing to everyone in the area!!! 11/10 experience! Thank you so much Nina!! read more

Love this place. The staff is very professional and welcoming. I'd recommend this place to anyone who is looking to try waxing for the first time read more

I've been meaning to get a waxing done for quite some time, and so I finally got them done when I was hanging around the area. I wanted a location that was within walking distance of Ballston metro, quick, relatively priced, and good. I found this location through Yelp and ticked off everything on my checklist that I was looking for. *Ditto to what Dominique R. has said about their service and having issues with appointments. The location is in a pretty prime spot, just a block or so from the metro station and surrounded by restaurants. On the corner of a building (didn't take a hard look at what it was for) and easy enough to find. The interior is nicely decorated, brightly lit and relaxing enough. I made an appointment for 12:30pm through Yelp and received a confirmation email from Yelp ("booked by Booker"). When I walked in, I wasn't sure if this was the right spot and as I asked the people at the counter if this was "Express Waxing"..the lady interrupted and asked if I had an appointment. Oookay..I'll just assume it is. I told her I had an appointment at 12:30 and told her my name, she appeared confused and checked her phone and notebook. Another older lady with glasses came by and the front desk lady asked (I'm assuming), and she too had to look through her phone. I told them I had booked it through Yelp and FD lady asked to see it, so I showed her the confirmation email. Apparently that was good enough, but as the older lady went to lead me to the room, the FD lady continued to hold onto my phone, looking at it. I almost thought I was supposed to keep it at the counter, until I held out my hand for my phone back. Took a little too long for her to be holding onto a customer's phone. The waxing was okay. I asked for a "medium" amount of eyebrow..not too much taken off but enough for shape. I did feel that she used A LOT of wax itself, but what do I know. Overall, the shape is fine, my upper lip wax was also just the bare of what I needed. $25 for a brow and lip wax, which isn't too bad. read more

I love Sarah! Always happy, smiling and amazing at what she does! I was a previous client of hers when she worked in Georgetown and I would happily make the trip because I wouldn't trust anyone else to do such a great job with my Brazilian wax. She is professional, clean and really quick at the waxing. Your fear of pain and how awkward it can be is long gone in 10 mins since shes that quick at it. I'm so happy shes in Ballston now (closer to me) and I guarantee you will not be disappointed! read more

Sarah is absolutely amazing! Not only is she super friendly, she's very professional and efficient. She always takes extra care to make me feel comfortable. On top of that, I've never had a less painful wax in my life. I literally never feel a thing. The salon is clean and again makes me feel very comfortable. After testing out a number of salons I know the above is not always the case! read more

I literally told MiMi, mid-snatch, that she was the best I ever had! I'm a veteran to waxing in addition to having a pretty high tolerance for pain, and I still get a little nervous when I'm having a Brazilian wax service... not with MiMi. I barely felt a thing. She was very nice and extremely thorough. Booking my appointment online was easy and convenient. Will I go back? Y-E-S!!! read more

I heard a lot of great things about this place and its owner Sarah, so I booked an appointment and waited 2 weeks in order to be seen by her...Sarah. But when I got there, it was like a bait and switch, Sarah was not the one who performed my service which was totally disappointing. If I wanted some random to do my service, I would have not waited those two extra weeks, just sayin'. My brazilian went fine, but when I got home and took a shower I realized that I still had wax on me and parts of my nether regions were stuck together. Can we say "Ouch"??? Overall, my experience was okay but I cant see myself as a repeat client. As a side note, I would suggest that the tech make sure that the bed is locked before inviting a client to lay down.. I almost busted my a** when I went to lay down. Secondly, put a lid on the trashcan or empty it when its full. No one wants to see all that... read more

You want to come here.... Especially if you are squeamish about your first time getting a Brazilian wax. Sarah was amazing, and very sweet! She was very quick and thorough with the Brazilian, which is what I look for when soliciting this type of service. I won't go anywhere if the Brazilian lasts longer than that! I also received an eyebrow threading; both services were as painless as you can get. Very gracious and quality service. I WILL be coming back! read more

Just finished my second Brazilian at express waxing, this time I had Mimi instead of Sarah. She was equally as awesome and friendly as Sarah. She could sense I was nervous and was very funny and tried to make me feel as relaxed as possible during the process. I love this place! read more

My Brazilian was great! Talked to me the whole time and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all!! I will definitely be going back. It is inside a hair salon which can be tricky to find. Overall wonder experience! read more

Scheduled an appointment with Sarah based on personal recommendations. I am still kind of nervous about waxing, so the personal touch is crucial for me. - I showed up early and spent a bunch of time looking for the place. They should be a little more clear that they are actually within Salon Istanbul, as in, you won't see any separate signs, etc. - I introduced myself and told them I had an appointment with Sarah at Express Waxing. Another woman took me into the back. I assumed she was Sarah, but the personality didn't seem to mesh with what I was told, so I eventually asked. She still didn't introduce herself but said that Sarah was too busy to see me. Huge red flag... - I went with it, for lack of other options, until mid-wax she told me (rather rudely) that because I had been thrust onto her schedule, one of her other clients was waiting, and that client was clearly more important to her, because she asked me to go out into the lobby and wait while she attended to that girl. So I sat out in the lobby, sticky and uncomfortable, while she took the other girl back. - When she had finished with the other girl and I was back in the room, she apologized about a million times and proceeded to complain about how the booking schedule is set up, as Sarah waxes way faster than anyone else and how do they expect the rest of them to keep up? Found this pretty unprofessional and awkward... - She did a mediocre job... When she couldn't get the hair out, instead of tweezing, she went over and over with the wax (and oftentimes still didn't get it out). Consequently my skin is SUPER irritated now. - That said, the price was good and she did kind of try to be friendly with me towards the end (possibly sensing that I was regretting the appointment and wishing I had gone somewhere else). read more

Sarah is Excellent!! She is very personable, quick with her waxing and even takes the extra time to take care of ingrown hairs if you have any. No double dipping like some places I've been. I would highly recommend this place for a Brazilian waxing. read more

I have been going to Express Waxing for years, and have never had anything less than a stellar experience. All of their estheticians are skilled, fast, and thorough, and they make waxing as painless an experience as it can be! read more

It can be hard to find a place that does male Brazilians. And to find one that does them well is really challenging, but you need look no further than Express Waxing. They are great -- little pain, fast, professional, and at a very reasonable price too. I don't live in the DC area anymore but always make it a point to schedule a visit if I'm in town. Today was no exception. Smooth and painless. If you're a man and looking for an excellent male Brazilian, this is the place. 10 stars!!! read more

Okay, Sara makes it easy for one to get addicted to "waxing". I have been going to see Sara for about 4 months now and here it is mid-November and I am still getting waxed as if summer was right around the corner. I started with just a bikini wax and now I leave with a Brazilian, legs, and underarms. She definitely makes the process easy and as smooth as possible (pun intended). Very considerate about your comfort level and very knowledgeable about up keep until your next appointment. Very clean and hygienic. No double dipping, clean towels, surgical gloves and mask. The place can be a little hard to find but nothing GPS couldn't handle. Parking can be desired but I have always been lucky enough to find a spot right out front. Just be sure not to over feed the meter because Sara is just that good and fast. I will continue to make the trip from suburban Maryland all the way to Ballston. I will not be going anywhere else. Did I mention my hubby loves it too. :) read more

Went in for the first time to get my eyebrows and legs waxed. I'm usually very hesitant on trying new places because I am unsure of how sanitary their practices are. Let me tell you, Sarah (the owner) was amazing and made me feel really comfortable. She used a new stick every time she dipped into the wax, which made me feel at ease about how clean it was. She was also very friendly and made me feel at ease! And made sure it didn't hurt. (Some places I've been to has burned me with their hot wax.) It was such a great experience. I definitely will be back to get my waxing needs. read more

Man oh, man! Sarah is an Angel from the heavens. I have tried to get bikini waxes in the past and I have failed miserably, making the tech stop mid-way through the process. Well, fast forward to now: I decided I was going to get the strength to just do it--a full Brazilian! Sarah talked me through the process and caused little to no pain. She is both knowledgeble and professional. I never ever thought that I would get the nerve but I can definitely say that I will be back. Thanks Sarah for making the process seamless. See you soon! read more

This place is awesome! I love being able to make appts online and it almost always takes less than the estimate. The staff is super nice! Incredibly quick, thorough, and as pain free as waxing can be! read more

I've been to this location twice, once before and recently after the salon's renovation- and both times were great. I've had Mimi both times for a Brazilian and a bikini line waxing and her trained hand prevented any pain, pulling or stinging. The staff accommodates walk-ins, but its probably best to make an appointment (either by calling in or making an appointment). "Express" is in the name- the session is fast and well done. read more

This place is amazing. After having a horrible customer service experience at Sugar Baby Wax Georgetown, I began looking for a Brazilian wax spot near my job. Came across this place-I had no problem making an appointment online, it was easy to find and walking distance from my job. Vimean serviced me-she was friendly, professional, and thorough. She even honored the 10% first time discount. I am VERY happy with my Brazilian wax, and I am now a repeat customer. read more

Always satisfied, I called the same day and Sarah wax completely booked, she's been my esthetician since she began, but with no other option or time I had an extended bikini with Lynn and it was a very pleasant experience, she was quick and thorough. read more

Normally I will not even consider a wax from inside a small nail/hair salon like this (I have heard horror stories), but Sarah's good reviews persuaded me otherwise and she truly is great at what she does. Also, she is quick and empathetic, talkative, and very nice. She works out of a small room with, yes, stark, fluorescent lighting, and you do disrobe while she is in the room; it is called express waxing for a reason, but I'll take quick quality at my convenience versus some posh, overpriced salon and spa. *Another reviewer pointed out that the entrance is on the corner of Randolph and 9th. This is important to know, as I don't remember any signage saying "express waxing," but rather her operation works out of the Istanbul salon.* read more

I absolutely LOVE this place. I only come to express waxing for my Brazilian. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The care is so efficient and sanitary. So far, I have only had Mimi as my waxer and I WORSHIP her. She is so sweet and kind. She does such an amazing job and I am always satisfied and elated when I walk out. She makes the waxing experience so relaxed and quick that I don't even notice the time go by. Mimi does such an amazing job that the pain is absolutely tolerable and the pain minimizes every time I see her. The waxing is worth every cent. I couldn't imagine a better experience honestly. I recommend this place 100%. If you want great service, top quality waxing, and affordable prices, go to express waxing and ask for Mimi. read more

Mimi is awesome. I will never go anywhere else but to Mimi. I got a Brazilian and an eyebrow wax. She was gentle and made it very comfortable for me. Love her. read more

Sarah is AWESOME. She doesn't double dip, she is so sweet and she is meticulous. You will leave with NO hair (if that's what you want). She makes a painful situation bearable and comfortable. You will forget she is even waxing the love-below. I am officially a regular now. NO GROUPON/LIVING SOCIAL DEAL NEEDED. She is worth every dollar. P.S. Her space very clean and she uses hard and soft wax...woohoo! options. read more

I was looking for a place closer to home. I used to go to Debbie at Fusion Day Spa in DC but switched jobs and no longer went downtown. I found this place via Yelp and booked an appointment with Sarah per all the recommendations and she didn't disappoint. I've been getting waxed since I was 18 so I know what to expect... especially when you do an extended bikini or Brazilian. Some reviewers seem surprised or uncomfortable when asked to drop trou or get into odd positions, but every other waxer I've been to requests the same thing. These people have to wax in awkward, hard to reach places so, yes, you will be asked to spread your legs, prop your bum in the air, etc. However, if you're not comfortable, just tell your waxer! Sarah is super sweet and she'll do what she can to make you feel comfortable. Oh, and bikini waxes hurt! No matter how many I've done in my lifetime, it still hurts. Sarah knows where the more sensitive places on your body are and will prep you for the bad "pulls" and when I was particularly sensitive at times, she used a cold cloth to help ease the pain. But you have to talk to her and she will accommodate. Prices are reasonable. $45 for an extended bikini normally but she gave me a lesser price since I was a regular and she also gave me a frequent buyer punch card... every fifth wax I got an additional $20 off. I recently moved to NYC and am going to miss going to Sarah. read more
