I was looking for a place closer to home. I used to go to Debbie at Fusion Day Spa in DC but switched jobs and no longer went downtown. I found this place via Yelp and booked an appointment with Sarah per all the recommendations and she didn't disappoint. I've been getting waxed since I was 18 so I know what to expect... especially when you do an extended bikini or Brazilian. Some reviewers seem surprised or uncomfortable when asked to drop trou or get into odd positions, but every other waxer I've been to requests the same thing. These people have to wax in awkward, hard to reach places so, yes, you will be asked to spread your legs, prop your bum in the air, etc. However, if you're not comfortable, just tell your waxer! Sarah is super sweet and she'll do what she can to make you feel comfortable. Oh, and bikini waxes hurt! No matter how many I've done in my lifetime, it still hurts. Sarah knows where the more sensitive places on your body are and will prep you for the bad "pulls" and when I was particularly sensitive at times, she used a cold cloth to help ease the pain. But you have to talk to her and she will accommodate. Prices are reasonable. $45 for an extended bikini normally but she gave me a lesser price since I was a regular and she also gave me a frequent buyer punch card... every fifth wax I got an additional $20 off. I recently moved to NYC and am going to miss going to Sarah. read more

Brazilian waxing is far from being one of my top 5 beauty care activities but Mimi was very reassuring in making the process as painless and still effective as possible. This is my second review just because I love Sarah and her staff. I used my punch card on my last visit and didn't get a new one with a promo cost that Sarah gave me. So today when Mimi checked me out after my visit with Sarah, I asked for another card. Mimi explained that she could still honor my price, but not with the card. I went for wax lip and eyebrows. The procedure was atraumatic but they did not do any extra procedure to trim of correct the shape of eyebrows. In addition, I asked for a receipt at the end and it was never given to me. when I asked for second time Sarah just wrote the amount on a business card which I thought was unprofessional. read more

I went here for the female Brazillian two times so far. Sarah is excellent. She is fast and thorough and also does a great job with ingrowns. I have received Brazillians in many salons around the country and Sarah is bar far one of the best I have had. So many salons miss spots or use waxes that break the hair and cause ingrowns. With Sarah, my hair grows back less and with few to no ingrowns. I couldn't be happier that I found a place that is reasonably priced and does a fantastic job. read more

Just moved to the area and was looking for a place with good reviews that I could trust not to eliminate my eyebrows. Called and got an appointment same day. I was told I would see Sarah (whom everyone seems to love), but when I got there she handed me off to someone else (which made me a little nervous). I didn't catch the second woman's name, but she communicated well and I left with my eyebrows in tact. I left happy and the $10 yelp deal and a tip, I felt it was worth the money. I'll be back! For newbies: You can park in Ballston Commons Mall Parking lot for $1 for up to 3 hours. It's about a block away and much faster than searching for street parking. read more

Bought the yelp coupon and it is such a deal. I got my eyebrows waxed, at first i didn't think the lady waxed enough off, cause I was looking for more shape. After I mentioned this to her, she did some of her magic and wa la- my eyebrows look phenomenal. I think first time comers should know that this place is tucked away inside an apartment building inside a salon. I worked in a salon for 10+ years so I know what good service is. Sarah is the sweetest tech I've ever met! I originally came in for eyebrow tinting, she told me that since I already have black hair that it probably wouldn't make a huge difference. I told her it was ok, so she started prepping while explaining everything to me. After she was finished I asked her to wax my eyebrows too. She giggled and said that she didn't feel right charging me for a service that I can do myself (I'm a licensed cosmetologist). I love that she wasn't pressuring me to spend money (like a lot of other salons do). I told her to wax my brows anyway and the results were awesome! Overall: Customer service was great! Eyebrow tinting and waxing took less than 20 minutes, start to finish. Prices are moderate, comparable to other salons in the area. Salon is hard to find, it's actually located INSIDE Salon Istanbul. I tried Express Waxing for the first time this week, and it was a good experience. I made an appt with Sarah for a Brazilian wax, though when I arrived, the manager said that Sarah was busy and Mimi was available instead. He later told me that you have to schedule in advance for Sarah, as her schedule books quickly. I didn't quite understand this scheduling mishap, as I did request Sarah specifically when I made my appointment. I think that they should be more clear about who the technician will be when the appointment is scheduled. However, Mimi did a great job. She was friendly, kind, and did a quick but thorough job with the waxing. I would definitely recommend her to others. read more
