The Tigard location needs a serious overhaul. They mislead with false jobs on Indeed.com and once you arrive they say those jobs are no longer available yet were posted 30 minutes prior to appointment. They are not willing to assist people who are looking for specific job requirements due to restrictions and then if you miss their call by a little bit they ghost you. Avoid this place like Covid. read more

The office is quiet and still by design, built in such a way as if to instill the jobseeker with a sense of humility, where you can almost feel the dust settle on your shoulders. "This is how Jay-Z's story began," you mutter to yourself, convinced that the Gods sent you here to teach you a valuable lesson: this is rockbottom. Not the drug episodes or the betrayals at the hands of ex-friends or the time you tripped in front of your crush in junior high school and ended up busting your tooth in front of 150+ cruel peers, this moment is truly when you get it. Rockbottom. You have the skills to do their jobs and better, you are wonderful and a creator of thoughts and things, you are a soul with energy that is pure and unique and precious. But here is where you stand before judgement for all of the wrongs you've committed, doomed to vie for menial work in Portland as if it were easy to "just get a job," only to be told you're late for the interview and it's not because they gave you an hour of extra evaluations upon your arrival. The evaluations aren't meant to test your knowledge or skills, their purpose is to remind you of the tragedy of Sisyphus. Had I been so deceitful in a past life that I must be punished with more basic data entry placement exams? I am deeply sorry for everything. If I deserve to take the extra spelling test again because their computer logged me out, then so be it but please know that I am atoning for my sins. You trade pained glances with the other hopefuls (hopeless) in the triage seats and press on. Upon completion, the rock tumbles down the hill again. The army of white girls, cackling and speaking in questions? ask you if you spoke with Kristine or Taylor? and if you already signed up online? Sure thing. "Did you, though? Really?" You say yes and they tell you "but you didn't do the first half so take a seat." What is the first half? How long will that take? I'm in my thirties. You ask them a question to see how they like it and they retreat, seemingly to lotion up their husks so as to appear human when they come out of their nest only to ask if you've been helped. "Are you waiting for anyone? Did Kristal or whatever her name was talk to you yet?" Whether or not you answer, they can only hear their own co-workers, asking if they want lunch. They seem to do this very often. Is lunch a code-word for "help, we have a person in a suit who used to get paid way more and I think he's expecting us to be professional and courteous?" If so, they needn't have been worried because I wasn't expecting much out of a team of 4 or 5 interchangeable undereducated young girls who clearly had no interest in offering relevant work to qualified candidates. I came here because I am... was desperate but now I see that I've only been defeating myself. No, I'm worth so much more. I'm not ready to die just yet. I'm not going to need to fill out the same application again and again after all and you can keep my resume. Thank you for what at first seemed like a waste of my time but turned out to be illuminating. I walked down to the bus stop and shook the hands of the woman who left just before I did and we wished each other luck. It's going to be a hard road but there's no point in turning back just to end up facing Express. read more

This office is the epitome of lack of professionalism. I would give them NO stars, but it doesn't register. During my interview process, the GIRL makes a call to order her lunch. They had the nerve to say that my people for references gave a negative reference, which is a LIE. (Why give the phone numbers of people who are only going to trash me?) One of my references said that the person who called was talking negatively about me while asking questions. Called the corporate office to express my concerns. Due to the offices being a franchise, I was referred back to the branch manager or office manager at that office. What I actually got was some guy in risk management who called, and he was just as incompetent and unsuitable for the title for which he told me. He didn't take the call seriously and was giggling like Beavis while I was talking to him. Never did get to talk to the Branch Manager or Office Manager; at this point, I don't need to do so. This office is a joke. Go to another office who will take your employment needs seriously. Look up the word "Defamation"; it's different from the word "Libel" you Dolt in the risk management department. :o read more

This place charges about a third more an hour for YOUR services and they have quite the arrogant disposition to many of the people searching for work there. Some individuals have tons of work experience and they talk down to them in so many ways. Not very professional at all. I witnessed this every time I visited this office. Most temp agencies are nice to your face until you are working. This is all they care about as this is the only way they get paid. This temp agency is no different. After you have been there a few weeks they give you a phony smile and forget about you. I had an injury and couldn't work anymore and they pretty much wanted nothing to do with me afterwards. Explained I could do light work but they never even tried to accommodate me. Never received a thank you or anything. Wouldn't waste your time with this temp agency. Not very professional or friendly. On to better work solutions. Always better places to go. read more

I've worked for a couple of staffing agencies before and they often don't follow up when they say they will. I have not found my ideal job yet but the recruiters have been following up and offering me different opportunities which is a much better experience than I've had before. So far it's been the best staffing agency experience over had. read more

Incompetent clowns spamming me about jobs in the wrong state, that I'm not qualifed for (I mean, I worked a bit in a donut shop 35 years ago, but that's it for food service), that pay pathetically (hey, perhaps they are great, but I'd want well over $100k/y). They don't respond to remove requests, and seem to be unable to look you up by email, even though that's how they contacted you. So, they need to go out of business. read more

I have quite recently signed on with Express Employment Services, at the office located in Tigard, on Nimbus Ave. Although I consider myself to be retired, it is my desire to continue to work, here and there, while caring for an aging parent. Express has already begun notifying me of "short term" positions, as they become available. I have the option to only accept those that work with other demands. This is the perfect arrangement for me. The office staff has been notably polite and efficient. I have yet to accept a position, as I only finalized the process this morning. Marcus of Tigard was very nice. And all people there were polite and helpful.Most importantly, I received steady work for three weeks while other agencies were useless. And perhaps I could have continued working but there are other things I have to do until late September.The jobs were decent, not too hard, varied (light assembly/filing/dishwashing) and most supervisors and co-workers were nice. read more

Went in for an interview in April. At one point I was asked if there were any upcoming dates that I would be unavailable in the near future; I mentioned May 22nd when I would be out of town (spreading a relative's ashes for what it's worth). Sure enough, the only time I hear back from them is the afternoon of May 21st mentioning an interview at a call center the next day. When I said I wouldn't be available the lady on the phone said "YOU'RE TURNING IT DOWN?" loudly then hung up on me. Throw in the cheap looking office and what seems to be a lack of staff over 25 and this is a good place to avoid. read more
