I really like these guys and only wish I could work in this office.LOL I've been working with Brooke Bruland, I highly recommend working with her if you've had any kind of issues with express. She makes the whole experience super pleasant. She is communicative and easy to talk to. Plus she is like cheery all the time so it makes it almost fun. Yeah. It is pretty poor. I think they must get some sort of incentives to get you in so they can show some numbers. After that you never hear back ever. Even if you specifically respond to a job posting (from their own emails). They just blow you off. Which would be fine. Except, I don't really enjoy having my personal information in some database for no reason. I've heard horror stories about Robert Half but I don't see any difference. I am interested in recruiting and I thought the best way to get in touch with this location would be to call them. Raquel answered the phone and I stated my purpose, that I was interested in being a recruiter. This was most likely an unusual request as most people are looking for jobs that Express has for them through other companies, whereas I wanted to work for Express. Initially she told me that there weren't any jobs available internally and I thought the conversation ended there. Immediately I was called back and asked if any temp jobs would appeal to me. I told her that I was only looking to work as a recruiter once again and she told me she would reach out and see what could be done. I thanked her. A few hours later, the owner of the location, Mark, called me. I was unable to answer the call due to being on a phone interview but I heard the message he left on my voicemail. He was interested in learning more about me and wanted to talk. I was elated. I have been searching for a recruiting job for a long time now and not only did I get a response, but it was from the owner of not only that location, Mount Vernon, but two others, Everett and Bellingham. He gave me his direct line and I called back. He picked up and I expressed, no pun intended, my interest in the company. He told me that there may be an opening in another location but that Mount Vernon was full at the moment. He asked about my work history and after dealing with some less than friendly agencies, it was nice to be treated like a human again. He then asked for my resume and even wanted to stay in touch regarding my job search and possible employment. He didn't have to ask for my resume. He didn't have to reach out to me. Raquel didn't have to tell him that I had called. These people went above and beyond for me and whether or not this results in employment, it was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had job hunting. I love the staff! I have worked with Express/Debbie Joswick for YEARS! I have been hired several times away from Express and only left the positions due to the economy. Instead of work searches that took a lot of time, I enjoyed the variety of positions that Express has. My current position (hired again) has lasted a couple years and it's great to know that if needed I can return for more wonderful experiences with Express Employment Professionals. this has to be the most poorly run and organized business in town. First off the gave me an assignment but no details on where the job was until the night before. second when ever I tried to contact my person who gave me assignments by phone or in person they just kept giving me the runaround and all emails went unanswered. and the straw that broke the camel's back, I turned down one job (that the called me to do at the crack of dawn and expected me to drop everything and be there in 10 minutes with no prior notice) they just never gave me another job again and all after I had put up with them and had been working every job they gave me for three months and any attempts to contact them went unanswered. terrible management and poorly organized find jobs anywhere but here read more

I had recently moved to the area and submitted my resume online to Express. I got a call the very next day, interviewed that week and was placed in a temp assignment the next week. The temp assignment they gave was a perfect match of my skills and I thoroughly enjoyed the job. I believe that temp position was headed towards permanency but I ended up moving again to another state. My whole experience was great! The Mount Vernon office was quick to respond to my emails and calls. The only disconnect was I was unaware of the contractual hours (which was 4.5 months) between Express and the company that I would need to be a temp before the company was able to hire me on permanently. All in all, I had a great experience and would definitely use them again! read more

The people are Express are anything but professional. What they are is rude and unqualified to do their jobs. They are only concerned with getting money in the door. They have a complete lack of ethics and will continue to try placing you in jobs you are not qualified for. At one point, they actually wanted me to lie on a job interview. They don't care how the workers are treated, what they need, or if they are even qualified to do the assigned job. This place is nothing but a complete scam nationwide. read more

WOW, I can't believe the the lady at the front desk in the Mount Vernon, WA office. She blatantly lied to a close friend of mine about getting in contact with references saying she couldn't and that he couldn't start the job that he was schedule to start the next day. After he contacted his references himself and they assured they had made contact and left messages multiple times he asked them to call again one more time. After they confirmed, he called again and the lady LIED HER TEETH OFF. She said she couldn't get in contact and so he couldn't start and too bad basically. So he decided to call the president of the company (since they had already successfully contacted his reference and had schedule the start date) to confirm and she was completely unaware that he had even turned a Drs note that the hiring company requested into express before the last week was up. She also had never canceled the orientation and he was still scheduled to start the next day. I hope this lady gets what she dishes out to other people. read more
