Absolutly the poorest ran agency I have EVER worked through. This company will genuinely dodge any accountability in order to protect their god aweful contracts. Spartan trucking was my first assignment through them with several osha violations which were reported by me and the company refused to pull me off the assignment or do anything about the safety and protection of their employees. They refused to find me more work because when I got terminated on a Friday morning I refused to work the remainder of the day in hopes of finding new work and they blackballed me and withheld my sick hours upon request. This job agency has some great opportunities in the creative fields if that's what you're looking for, or skilled labor type of jobs as well. Express Pros offers some upskill certification programs as well as informative blog post on current the state of employment as well as how to navigate in the current working world. Is it possible to give negative stars? This place is a joke! While the interview process was relatively straight forward, the follow-up wasn't. First, as others have said, their "test" could have been taken by a grade schooler. I have a Bachelor's of Accountancy degree and one would think that I know a thing or two about math. Their so-called "test" could be passed by my 12-year-old. Then they keep harassing me to give them more references. They claim that "the number doesn't go through" for my friend. Odd, I'm in contact with this person EVERY F-ING DAY and I'm able to get through. As is everyone else that calls her. The number works. When I asked for the status of my background checks, all they say is "we need more references" and don't answer my questions. I never received copies of my paperwork or the background checks that I requested that I am entitled to by law. This place needs to have a true professional (like me) to teach them how to do their jobs. Avoid them if you can. Just don't waste your time. read more

Since June I had done all the paperwork I had 2 references one of them answered and the other didn't they never got back to me and when I reached out because I need a job I was told "there's nothing we can do for you" unless you have another reference, I've spoken to two other people that have gone here and both have said how difficult they make the process and how unhelpful and unfriendly everyone is. "Kaya" at Express Employment Professionals in San Gabriel sent me to a parking lot in Pasadena to work as an attendant. She did a hard sell claiming slowdown, the jobs were not coming in a patronizing way. The parking lot attendant job was a dumpster fire with really bad management and was nothing like described by Express, neither were the hours which were shortened to cut cost by the client. This was my first temp job with Express and it did not leave a good impression. read more

Oh my goodness. I'm guessing Lindsay has some friends posting compliments here. Or maybe Express Pros offers some incentive for positive reviews? I'm 60 years old. Have been working since I was 13. In all those years, many of them temping all over Los Angeles, Downtown, Mid-Wilshire, Burbank, and 20 years for a major motion picture studio....I have NEVER had such a foul work experience as I did with EXPRESS PROS, and in particular KIM GUARD and LINDSAY HORNSBY. They will lie through their teeth to you. They will promise you one thing, and then give you grief when you expect them to keep their word. "Sure, we'll have no problem getting you $18-20 an hour!" Two $13 an hour assignments later, and they want me to take a full-time job for $14 an hour! And then had the audacity to call a social worker I was working with, to try to convince me to accept it! After I unknowingly accepted a project through Lindsay, that required proficient Excel (which I told them I wasn't great at when I interviewed, and tested at 67%), and took too long doing that project, Kim Guard ended it before I was done, and totally humiliated, embarrassed, and degraded me. BUT IT GETS EVEN BETTER. When I applied for unemployment, Kim Guard defamed me by claiming I lied on the unemployment application. She said she had offered me a $15 an hour gig!! The unemployment associate I spoke with saw glaring discrepancies in her statements, and I received unemployment. Sorry to hit you where it hurt, Kim. I know that $67/week I got for two months must've hurt your pockets, huh. Kim Guard is a Board Member of Ascencia Homeless Shelter. She exploits and demeans people in the worst situations of their lives. She's a garbage human being and deserves no respect or patronage. Express Pros Corporate should open their eyes. Lindsay is a ditzy rube. A Kim wannabe. Neither of them have an ounce of professionalism or common courtesy. And yes! I was told originally that they could work around my tight schedule by several employees when I called to see if they would be right for me. I had to go through multiple phone interviews, fill out a slew of financial forms, take a skills assessment test and I STILL had to play phone tag with them every couple days to get a progress update and only received empty promises. All of this resulted in them FORGETTING about my scheduling conflicts, sending me a job that wouldn't even hire me, and then blaming me for my schedule for the lack of response I've received from them - something that I was assured WASN'T an issue. I would not have spent so much time and effort applying through this recruitment company had I realized this sooner. The recruitment agent also lied about meeting me in person (they didn't and I was sent home after completing my forms and assessment). It's clear that they do not care about the clients they work with. Complete waste of my time and has put me in a financially precarious situation while waiting for them. read more

I was called and asked to fill out an application and given an interview time for the next day, by one of the recruiters. After I was forwarded the link I received a call from another employee, demanding to know why I had not filled out my application. I informed her I had just received the link. I finished filling out my application and received another call, to cancel my interview, in that same instance I was told she was mistaken and the interview was still scheduled. During the interview I was told that my availability did not match my application. I assured him that it did, and sent a picture of what I had posted. He said that the only position available was for a certain time. Yet, he told me I had agreed to fill out an I-9 later in the day. I told him I couldn't do so, if he had another time available. He didn't respond to my question. The next day I receive a call from someone else demanding I go in and fill out an I-9, because there where many available positions. However, I was told there was only one position available. read more

If you do every step of the application correctly and in a timely manner, everything will go smoothly and there is a reason why there are many questions to the application and everything is totally worth it. Thank you Kim and staff for getting the perfect job for me. Just one more thing: not having a job can be stressful and overwhelming, but don't let that be an excuse to act out with the staff at Kim's office as they are there to help you. where to start, this place is a joke, i have been with Aerotek for 2 years and i wanted to give this a shot. Let me start of by saying READ the reviews BELOW they are 100 % accurate.THE OWNER " KIM GUARD " ruined my experience. She likes to intimidate you, and be blunt with no respect whatsoever. I saw how she treated a lady that did not understand much English and let me tell you it left me in awe. Mentally harassed the lady by talking her down, repeating "I cant understand you" Please if you are not a fluent English speaker, do not bother to give this place a shot. I walked in the the longest process ever, 2 hours i wasted being there. while doing my testing they called all my references right there on the spot, not caring if i heard them or not. They mandatory need to get a hold of at least 2 references before they continue on your application. Second the testing was 1:30 min long ! Never have i done that long of a test, besides drug testing, and a long process of paper work. When all was over, Kim guard Made it clear to my recruiter that my test results were low, making me feel worthless as if i can't qualify for a decent job. After all, i never received a call from them, not one. Went back with Aerotek and started to work the next day. I intially tried doinga job interview here last week. However, the day before I had a family emergency and had to reschedule. When I called about the interview, they had no idea about my interview, claiming whoever I had been working with was let go. They also didn't seem to have the application i filled out (which is a somewhat lengthy process).That was the first red flag. The girls there are so nice, caring and very professional.. , My attendant was Priscilla Galan, she's very amazing, caring and Conscientious.. Even though it did take a little while to find me a job, and I called to follow up with Priscilla, she was always there, she took my call and gave me updated status.. Also as the girls there are great as well, I loved the team work and how they all help each other.. Then Priscilla was able to find me my dream job I've been wanting since I finished Medical Billing School. And Priscilla was able to accomplish my goal... This was my 2nd agency and from the very start, the women here were very nice and respectful. They made you feel welcomed and they don't ever look down on you as less than they are. They really are ready to help others find a job that fits an individual's needs. From the start they were able to find me a job, which I didn't turn out to like, and they understood that so I didn't go back after 1 day. The second job they assigned me, was 1 week after and I have now become permanent. The transition to becoming permanent is easy, express doesn't need paperwork filled out. They just need for the employer to confirm when the permanent job begins. Express has been so helpful to me and I recommend to anyone in need of a job! read more

I came in with a degree on my resume and many years of experience in the field for which i was looking for a job. I applied online and got a phone call from a employee working at express named Luis. He had informed me that they had a 2nd shift available in my location and told me to come in person to continue the application process. Everything sounded well and good over the phone. Next morning when I show up I fill out my papers and LISA MARIE informs me about a second shift. I give her my 2 forms of id and she even got my bank information as well. I asked Lisa to step out of the room real quick to take a important phone call from my ill daughter. 10 minutes later when I walk back in the room I notice that LISA MARIES attitude has completely changed and she tells me that somebody took my shift (that she just told me I had 10 minutes before I stepped out lol ). I just find it extremely suspicious how LISA MARIE who works at express told me that I had the 2nd shift position and when I stepped out the room and walked back in it's no longer available. I felt like Lisa Marie was lying and based on these other review I'm pretty sure I'm accurate. LISA MARIE Is very unprofessional and she could've saved a lot of time by informing to me when I first arrived that my shift wasn't available and I would've been walked out and found another job. I applied for a call center position and received a call from Lindsay Hornsby (She's so fake btw) at Express. So excited little did I know I was making the worst mistake of my life. After interviewing I was offered an internal position as a staffing consultant. The first couple days were great as Kim Guard would buy Starbucks and lunch as she does with every new internal employee but DONT BE FOOLED because she is a monster! It was difficult to work for Kim at Express she would be little me, humiliate, and embarrass me in front of my co workers and applicants to the point where they would walk out the office without completing the application and calling asking for the blonde girl that got yelled at by a horrible lady(Kim). I continued to work for this awful person. She stressed me out so bad and worked us like robots I would literally get home to cry. I've cried numerous of times at work and when Kim, Lindsay and Lisa would all call me into her office to gang up on me and point fingers at me telling me "this job isn't for everybody" trying to have me quit, that was the last straw! I have never in my life had such a bad experience working for an abusive employer Kim Guard. I really loved what I did as a staffing consultant, I didn't like that it was hostile, unprofessional and messy. Kim, Lindsay and Lisa loved to talk about everyone else (so racist) and each other (fakes). Like I said messy! I had the worst experience ever in my life. This office will call and tell you that they so your resume and they liked it. They often make mistakes with appointments time and give no information to you about the position on the phone. If you are "lucky" you will meet the owner of this office - Kim Guard. This lady is extremely rude and demanding. She will never introduce herself to you, never say hi. Also, she has no breaks and does not realize how she talks with future candidates. If you try to explain what kind experience you had in the past, she will act like she does not want to hear about it. All she cares is your REFERENCE. If Kim does not like you, she can see yell at you as loud as she and ask you live immediately, explaining her decision that she can not work with you. Well here is an update and it isn't any better, it's worse. After my first review I received a call from the owner explaining that they had a rigorous application process that included several assessments and checking references. I had already provided a letter of recommendation and the postmarked envelope for authenticity. It wasn't good enough so I gave them an addition reference to contact. Here is where the BULLSHIT continues... 1) I was told in a face to face meeting with the assistant manager that only one assessment (which I completed weeks ago) was necessary. 2) The owner listed 4 separate times a message was left for one particular reference. I checked with my reference and even saw her phone. The ONE AND ONLY CALL was the prior day. 3) I received an email from the assistant manager apologizing for any miscommunication. There was NO MISCOMMUNICATION. I decided to move forward. I completed the 4 additional assessments immediately, completed additional paperwork and made sure my reference returned their call (I was there when she did). That was 12 days ago..... I can hear the crickets chirping. read more

I definitely love working for Kim! Her and Lisa along with the rest of the staff truly are amazing! From the minute you walk in to the first day of work it's true professionalism and care! They dedicate themselves to making sure every single person is taken care of and treated the same! The initial screening and introductory questions assure that you get the best job fitting for you. And you ARE allowed to say no! I passed on a few jobs because it didn't fit my needed schedule. They never hesitated and kept looking and sure enough landed me a great job that I enjoyed! I did leave for a second because I thought I found something better. Sadly it fell through and as if nothing had ever happened and without any resilience, they brought me right back in and we picked up exactly where we left off! Even better at that! From the moment you walk into the door you are greeted by the very polite receptionist and then the owner, I forgot her name, in the most welcoming way. I needed to take a typing test so a friend of mine recommended me to another employment agency but when I got there, they had a note on the door that said they were closed for the day. I did some searching and called Express Employment Professionals and they told me I can walk in and take the test with them. The girl helping me was super nice and very helpful. This office contacted me to arrange an interview because I sent them a resume and they had an opportunity available that was a good match with my work experience. After I arrived the staff was very personable however, they lost my file and had to reprint it. Next I had a brief interview with the owner Kim Guard and she was condescending, demeaning and rude. This office only has minimum wage opportunities and the owner isn't going to be looking out for the best interest of candidates. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. I was taking a break from work for about 3 months in 2014 and thought maybe I should give the Glendale local employment agencies a shot. So, I went to the Express Employment and filled out an application. When I walked in, the receptionist's desk was very close to the door and there were two job placement agents sitting about 15+feet behind the receptionist. There were no partitions between the receptionist or between the agents. The office looked clean, but without the partitions, the place looked and felt makeshift and cheap, like a back office of a sweatshop. The receptionist and the two agents were very nice and professional very much like the workers at 4 other job agencies I had signed up with. The very nice lady agent asked me how I was getting along with my previous employers, and I said I got along with them fine. In fact, I am still visiting 3 of my former employers periodically. But, I did tell the truth that there was a creepy manager I had never gotten along with. The agent went inside a small side office, and through the glass window I saw her talking to a Caucasian middle-aged woman, who might be a manager or owner of the agency. I saw her dramatically jumped out of her chair, stormed out of her office, came to where I was and shouted at me questioning me why I did not like the manager I was working with and why I did not have perfect work attendance. I was so shocked with her behaviors and thought to myself this woman did not seem normal, and I'd better get out of here, and so I stood up and quietly walked out of the agency. A week after the incident, I got myself a job as an Office Manager/Legal Assistant/Translator in a small law firm, and I loved what I did. Now I am working for myself and try to expand my legal translation business with more law offices and individual customers. Looking back I am still amazed at the experience of encountering this woman who work in a profession that is supposed to be helping people to get work and getting paid in return for their services. But her personality was way out of the line when it comes to interacting with customers. read more

When I called the following Monday, Kim, I believe it was, told me the job I originally applied for wasn't going to be ready for 4 WEEKS. I call BS on that one.
