Nate from Illuminate Pro Electric was totally different. As I elaborate below, Nate was a game changer. He was responsive; he showed up when he said he would; his rate was more than reasonable. ILLUMINATE PRO ELECTRIC Nate is an experienced licensed electrician (of course, insured and bonded). I highly recommend you to go to his website and read about his business. One thing to keep in mind, as mentioned on the website, he is the owner and the operator (i.e., no employees). So, he may or may not be available (when you need his service). I was lucky. I sent him a message through his website. Nate responded to me the same day, and it just so happened that he was available for the type/size of job I needed help with. COMMUNICATION Very responsive. After the initial message I sent to him, we exchanged a couple of emails and texts back and forth. As it turned out, he was available next day, and he did show up at the time he promised. It worked out great for me, but please have a realistic expectation as he has to do everything for his business. JOB PERFORMED Nate moved the 220v outlet behind the stove for me. He had to cut part of the wall, but he fixed the wall too. I cannot be happier with his work. COST His hourly rate was more than reasonable. He had to go out to get material to fix the wall, but he did not charge me for the time to go get the material. The total amount I paid (hourly labor and parts) was clearly lower than a few other bids I had received from other companies in town. Billing was easy and transparent. He emailed me an invoice with a link for payment. I just used my credit card. No extra fees or anything. His invoice was itemized (i.e., materials used and their costs along with his hourly rate). FINAL WORDS I appreciate Nate's professionalism. He is not only an experienced electrician but has a very high work ethics. He is upfront and transparent. He's professional, but not an uptight way. He's actually very personable. It was clear to me that he was eager to help me. When a homeowner is looking for a contractor, whether an electrician or a plumber, we are stressed out. Nate completely took the stress out of my stressful situation. He responded very quickly. We told him we wanted an outdoor dawn to dusk security light installed but really didnt know what options we had. Nate explained what could be done , gave us suggestions as to what he thought was best and gave us a very reasonable bid. He explained his work situation to us and was able to complete the job, as well as replacing an indoor fixture, in a very timely manner. In addition to doing an excellent job he was kind enough to tell us he would bill our home warranty policy for a portion of the work he performed. This saved us over 100 dollars. How many contractors would do that for a new customer and a relatively small job? My wife and i recommend Nate in as strongest terms as possible. Recently, we had an issue with some lights in our strata. Another electrical company told us that we needed to replace three outdoor lights at a cost of approximately $1,500 each (total $5,000.) This did not sound right to us so we called Friesen Electric who came to investigate. Richard found that they did not need to be replaced at all.
