Ok updating as management changed over the years and everything is great again. My only suggestion is to allow us to choose the pupusa filling in case someone is vegetarian, but I do enjoy the surprises. Everything here is good. The tamales, the burritos and tacos, the empanadas....yum read more

We were walking through Winthrop to stop at the game store next door and noticed Express Burritos. We were the only ones there at 11am on a Friday morning, were greeted the moment we walked in. The menu is impressive, the restaurant is small but boasts enough tables to service a good amount of people and there is a TV on the wall for entertainment. Our food came out quickly, piping hot and absolutely delicious. Sad that we discovered this little gem the day we moved out of Winthrop, but we will definitely be back! read more

Fist let start by saying I am a loyal Anna's customer. Express burrito opened down the street from me a few days ago and I couldn't be happier. I stopped in and had a chicken burrito and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken had great flavor and I enjoyed the the variety of toppings. I got mine with the mild hot sauce That's only served on the side, I wish I could've gotten it on it. Overall great experience and I can't wait to go back and Try more. read more

New ownership as of May, 2017 as I was told on my fourth or fifth visit here. Love the food, the family who now owns the business are very friendly and helpful. I've had the beef burrito which was tightly wrapped, not too salty and did not fall apart when I picked it up. Excellent - and a good serving size. Have also had the Parillada which consists of shrimp, beef, chicken, sausage, rice beans and salad ( I posted a photo ). What a great meal! Also have enjoyed the chicken plate and just recently tried the chicken soup - fantastic. Am certain I'll be returning on a regular basis. As a side note the owner mentioned they would continue renovations on Sundays when they are closed. They've a lot planned for the interior so expect some changes. Based on my visits I'd have to say the older reviews are now irrelevant as this is an entirely different business. Same types of food, some additions, but far better quality. I should note the price run from under between $10.00 - $20.00. Didn't see that option on the survey below. read more

Express Burritos - Parrillada !! - Mexican Near Me - Winthrop, Massachusetts

The steak burrito was fantastic. Doesn't get any better for a steak burrito. Everything was fresh and flavorful and great service with fast and easy online ordering. read more

My husband and I order from Express Burritos at least 2 times a week. We were super excited to find a local (and delicious) burrito spot in Winthrop. Excellent burritos and tostadas!! Highly recommend. read more

Very tasty! The tacos shells were very fresh and crunchy. The beef was well seasoned and I can't wait to try their soups.

I've gotten delivery from this place quite a few times and every time it was excellent and I try different things that I may never have tried before just because everything was so good! Hidden Gem! read more

Best fast Mexican food around, nice employees, great food, good attitude ! A place I'll be going to for the foreseeable future!

The online ordering was great with the status bar and being able to add tip. It makes contactless delivery pretty easy and both the delivery person and I don't have to touch nasty dirty money. the food was AMAZING!!!!!!! Perfect dinner to end the week on! We will definitely be ordering again. read more

I really wanted to walk into the place the other yelpers reviewed, but got this horribly dirty hole in the wall with endless visible health code violations instead. I wanted to love it, seeing how burritos are the greatest food on Earth and Anna's hasn't made it out this far (I cry about it everyday). Sadly, I won't be coming back. First the food: Got a carnitas burrito. While the guy steamed the tortilla and made my boyfriend's burrito, he yelled to the back to someone to get the carnitas ready. When he started to make mine, yelled for it again, and then proceeded to walk my tortilla out of the room and into a back room. When he emerged, the carnitas was on the tortilla. I didn't question it until I was eating it. Super dried out cubed chunks of meat with way more fat and gristle than meat. No flavor besides being super salty. Now I gotta ask: what IS this freakishly grey inedible meat you call carnitas?! Where did you go get it from? The microwave? The trash? Forget it, I don't want to know. Rice was mushy, pico was so so. Finally the sanitation: I get that the place is super small and cramped, but there is no excuse for keeping a place where you serve food looking the way this place does! Visibly dirty walls and floors and counter space with clutter everywhere. Even if I could look past all of that, what I couldn't get over was the man making our food. Yes, he wore plastic gloves, which I was glad to see, but he proceeded to touch EVERYTHING from the food to the register, to the money, to the phone without ever replacing or even rinsing or removing them! What is the point of wearing the gloves? For appearances? To keep your own hands from getting dirty? Yuck. read more

Because I spent many (regrettable ) years married to a burrito obsessed hispanic, I feel that I am somewhat of a Caucasian officianado on the subject. If you have had a real burrito, made by a mother in law, Latin friend or in a REALLY good Mexican restaurant you will understand why Express Burritos is chronically empty. It is not the cleanest of places either. Do yourself a favor....drive over the bridge to 02128 & get yourself a burrito at MI Pueblito on Saratoga. read more

People in Winthrop usually go to La Siesta for mexican food... but I tried Express Burrito for the first time and will be switching sides. Although it's small and hidden away don't under estimate or over look. Speedy service and friendly staff. Very good prices and portions. Can't wait to go back!! read more

I like burritos and am quite finicky regarding them, anyone can put burritos on the menu the trick is actually producing a good burrito and this place hits all the boxes....best burrito I've had without driving into Cambridge. I just hope the folks from Winthrop appreciate what they have here.... read more

5 stars!! Walked in, asked for a vegetarian burrito and faster than you can say "Express"...Voila! My burrito was delicious, huge, inexpensive, and yes delicious. read more

Omg, just great and wonderful people. The food is amazing and the owners ate very friendly. I enjoy the tacos, burritos, and you have chips & salsa. She makes most stuff in house it seems and its so good. If your in Winthrop and hungry, stop here. read more

I live down the street from this place and it has become a go-to spot. The food is amazing, I've tried to order something different every time and I haven't been disappointed yet! I think this is the only spot around that makes their own tortillas, definitely superior to a lot of Boston and Cambridge spots (I can't speak for East Boston). The price value for the food you get is pretty unbeatable. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Easily the worst burrito I've ever eaten in my entire life. Seriously this shit is worse than any chain restaurant you could go to. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere read more

Best food in MA friendly staff and plenty of options. I try to not order seconds but I always do.

Delicious and timely. Love this place. The kids chicken fingers are so delicious too!

i ordered nachos and they were by far THE worst nachos i've had in my entire life!! the beef has no seasoning whatsoever and the jalapeños weren't even hot. i never even knew non spicy jalapeños existed but i'm not a fan. overall i was extremely disappointed with my meal and you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. 0/10 would never recommend. read more

This place has the best chicken quesadilla. But PLEASE stop watering down the sour cream and only filling the cups halfway. Would had been 5 stars if not for that!!! read more

Disappointed with this place. Would not recommend. Food was questionable. Carnitas burrito had a funky meat in it that had a lot of fat and not a great taste too it. Probably wouldn't come back here. read more

Delicious steak burrito bowls. I'll admit that I don't try much else, but, I get a steak burrito bowl 1-2x per week and it is ALWAYS great--fresh, tasty, well balanced. Place is small but it's organized and clean. I'm a fan!! read more

When this place opened up I was excited because my husband and I love Mexican food. That being said I will never eat here again. We each got a burrito and loved that we could see them make your order in front of you. For a new place, I expected it to be cleaner. When we got home with our order we dug in! It looked good. It was just ok. Then in the middle of eating his burrito my husband pulled a twist tie out of his mouth! Yuck! Nothing like a little metal in your meal. No thanks! We haven't been back since. read more

Absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were on point, the service was fast and friendly, and there was plenty of on street parking. Definitely check out this neat little place. read more

Excellent Mexican street food right here in Winthrop. We just ordered for the first time and I can't believe we had not tried it sooner! This is a small shop with one woman up front and one cooking to order in the back (at least when were there). I ordered the steak burrito which was excellent. The steak was tender, grilled and well seasoned. My wife ordered the Mexican beef tacos and Pastelitos Dominicanos which she said were both excellent. A side bonus is that they have large bottles of Mexican Coke right in the cooler. We will definitely be ordering for Express Burrito again and we highly recommend it. read more

Had this delivered to my hotel while on a business trip, which was prompt. Good was flavorful and good, I'd say a good value for the price. I had the beef burrito plate and a couple tacos. read more

Fast service, friendly staff, and delicious authentic food! I order here at least once a week.

Placed an online order for pickup. My card was charged but the restaurant was closed (at 7:15pm, 8:30pm closing time) when I arrived.

express burritos is amazing!! i love their tacos and burritos american style and classic style. the staff is always very friendly

This was my first time here and mixed feelings. I ordered the beef burrito, a pupusa and a tamale. The burrito was basically flavorless all I could taste was the cheese and sour cream and the steak was kinda funky and fatty I only ate half. The tamale and the pupusa were great! Fresh quality and great taste - just as good if not better than any place you'll find in East Boston. I'd give this place another try just wouldn't get the burrito. read more

Good food and service! Loved the pupusas, tamal, tacos, and grilled veggies. Good for takeout

Worse Costumer Service ever!!! I'm pregnant and i was craving tacos in Winthrop since la Siesta is close i decided to give a try at this place, my boyfriend call to order some tacos and when the lady answer the phone he try to place the order but because he only speak English she hung up the phone because she only speak Spanish, he try to stop her because I speak Spanish so I can place the order but she already hung up the phone, I decided to call again and ask her why she was so rude and her answer was "We don't speak English" I decided to let it go and order my tacos, since I don't like corn tortillas I order my tacos in flour tortillas instead, she took the order and everything was fine, when my boyfriend got home I realize that they send me corn tortillas so after everything I decide to call again, answer the same lady so I explain to her that she send me corn tortillas when I specify 20 min ago that I want flour tortillas, she answer to me really rude that they don't have flour tortillas for tacos because the owner didn't buy flour tortillas and they only have "Mexican style" I try to ask her why did she say yes to me but she hung up the phone again my boyfriend dont like tacos al pastor so i lost my money , she Basically don't speak English and Neither Spanish, awful costumer service ever!!!! read more
