She tells me to sit and it took forever. I told her I did t have much time I'm on my lunch break. The experienced woman came to me and finally finished. They tried to tell me I had lots of FACIAL hair and needed more work then my lip and v Chin but I would have been there all day! Lol. Seriously, they should have asked if I wanted to be a student to the woman learning. I would have politely said no, thank you. I heard they are good from where i work but I wasn't happy. Especially with them discussing me in another language the whole time.

I asked what the cream was and to take it off immediately to which the woman replied that it was a "lightening cream". First of all, I was not informed that lightening was part of the regimen and demanded its removal. When I asked the ingredients of the cream, the woman explained that she did not know the contents. I complained that she needed to explain what was being done to my face and she was very defensive rather than apologetic. I think that's what sent me over the edge when she essentially gaslighted me like I should've known what was happening. After this experience, I'm going to question every little thing future aestheticians are doing. The worst customer service experience.

I had Solana (apologies if I misspelled her name) but she was very polite and took her time explaining the process- it was quite thorough with multiple 20 min rounds. They had music playing and the salon is well kept. Even for a Tuesday after work I heard many girls come in to get their eyebrows done and everyone had nice things to say. I've had some bad threading experiences in the past so I always get nervous about a new person handling my eyebrows. They work quickly, always do a great job, and you can't beat the price! Even when it's a bit busy, I haven't had to wait for more than 5 minutes.

I got an awesome groupon here ($15 for 5 sessions; gosh, I really should've went for the 10…read moresessions one ...) and I have very ambiguous feelings about the upcoming end. It's great to come in, get my eyebrows threaded, and feel like the tip that I pay upon leaving is how much I actually paid. Even so, $3 + $2 leaves me with a measly $5 operation after which I feel like I am much more presentable to the world. After all, I have a really bad habit of not coming to get my eyebrows threaded until they're in a bad shape; they always have to reshape when I come :x It's recommended that you get your eyebrows threaded every 2 weeks so that there isn't as much pain. (I guess the pain comes from the shaping, rather than the trimming). Five minutes of agony and sometimes tears - girls, don't wear non-waterproof mascara or eyeliner if you plan on being seen in public afterwards - but it's totally worth it. The minutes are gone before you know it, and the soothing mini-massage of the brows with the aloe gel help tremendously. Both Manisha and Maggie are very nice, and they can be talkative if you want or silent while you concentrate on bearing out the pain. I tend towards the latter. :x For those who were not able to get the groupon, they do have a $5 threading early morning special from 10-11am! :) Everything else is pretty reasonably priced as well. The only con is that this is kind of out of the way for me, especially now that I go to school in Washington Heights; although I really like this place, I'm not thaaat willing to trek this far. There isn't really much around in this neighborhood, and I don't feel entirely safe walking around when it gets dark. You actually have to ring a bell before you can get buzzed in, which is a reasonable safety precaution, but ... yeah, that makes me feel uneasy. Overall, Eyebrows Threading Spa is very neat, well-kept, comfortable, and relatively painless. The whole experience is smooth, and the clean, tasteful interior is definitely NOT what you'd expect from the surrounding area during the trek to and from the nearby subway stations. Do not be alarmed by the area, either; it's not actually unsafe. I think. :)

She grabbed a bunch of braiding hair that was not at all the color of my hair so she sent someone to go buy some. They came back with braiding hair that also did not match my hair color. She claimed that once she started braiding it wouldn't be apparent but the braid started to look bulky so I asked her to just braid my real hair, it's long enough. She had a bit of an attitude once I asked her to not use the fake hair. Against my better judgement I let her finish. To top it off she took scissors and start cutting away fly always, from my real hair!! I got home to find that the parts were not even and braids were all different sizes. Please do not bother.

I happened to be in the area last Thurs and spotted this place--perfect timing as I had my company…read moreholiday party to go to next day & I hadn't done my brows in ages. I walked in and was helped immediately (by Zoe if I recall right) who had me fill out a form on an iPad since it was my first time there and then asked me what I wanted--which was just to clean up my brows & do some shaping/make it even on both sides. She was very meticulous & checked in with me a couple times, making adjustments to make sure I was happy with the final result. Also, I liked that she wore a mask. The waxing was pretty painless (though of course the area was quite red for a while after). Efficient & good work done here! And a nice open space, quite minimalist with the waxing done by the walls.

Afterwords I genuinely was shocked at how good my brows were, 9/10 after a wax for me my brows are super wispy and kinda have gaps, but she literally made them look amazing!!
